My car infotainment system keeps on having a "ghost touch" and it keeps on being a distraction when im using the gps and it is a hazard being on the road especially in [xxx] where drivers are reckless. Other people have been having same issue, at least 80% that I have seen in person and online. This should be on a recall or at least have Honda figure out the issue since theyre selling there cars over 30k+ it should st least be working for a good while and not a hazard on the road. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

The screen is not working. In the middle of driving, the screen keeps changing and appears that someone is touching it, but no one is. It starts beeping, the audio switches, the gps goes off, and will not change even when you try clicking the buttons. It is extremely distracting while driving, navigation does not respond, and interferes with the ability to focus on driving. The problem has been reproduced by the dealer, has happened to numerous other customers, and the dealers have done nothing to fix it. It has been inspected by the Honda dealership multiple times. No warning prior to failure. According to research, this has been an ongoing problem for various other people, yet there is still not a fix available for this safety issue. This is unacceptable.
Digital display (screen) is glitching by unexpectedly changing screens and performing operations by itself such as changing driving direction settings (gps), and making phone calls while driving. The issue is not consistent, sometimes no issues are experienced for entire drive time, while other times it keeps glitching from start to finish of the drive time. There is no way to turn display off, and when glitching the display does not respond to any commands (touch screen). This sudden change of screens or performed operations take driver's attention away. The issue almost cost me an accident while driving on a highway. My wife afraid to drive the car since she does not trust its electronics now. Honda refuses to fix the issue and asks to replace the entire display unit without providing any diagnostic details on the issue also failing to provide explanation on why it is so inconsistent. If display is broken then it should be consistent. . .
11686537 prior complaint #. I want to add to my prior complaint. I have has this car going on almost a year. During the winter months there was no issues with the informatic system. Once we experienced our first 80 degree day it immediately started again. This is becoming unsafe as it causes anyone driving the car to become distracted due to the constant switching of screens. If you try and use the gps that becomes impossible because it switches on its own causing the driver to have to take their eyes off the road. This is also resetting your setting. I had my car set to autolock and at some point it reset that and then my car was broken into and stuff was stolen from inside. The informatic system is completely unusable when this happens and is pretty much every time you use the car when the weather is over a certain temperature. I have heard some people doing things to maybe help to prevent this but I have paid for a vehicle with a long standing history of safety and quality. So I do not believe I need to alter my vehicle in any way to prevent standard equipment from operating properly.
My touchscreen randomly started glitching, randomly dialing numbers and when I tap it to go back to my gps, the screen freeze. This is a danger for me as the driver, I’m not able to drive the car with confidence because the apple carplay gps will change screens while I’m actively driving, making me unaware of the gps direction and road. Is there a recall? there are many threads online of 10th gen Accord drivers going through the same thing. When I call Honda of south miami dealer, they told me that I can come in and change it under warranty, but then suggested that it’ll be a waste of my time since there will be a recall soon. Customers have gone to the dealership with the same issue repeatedly after Honda replaced theirs.
The gps goes unresponsive as part of the symptoms of the infotainment system acting by itself. This poses a distraction and driving risk while trying to not miss the destination. Also radio touchscreen becomes unresponsive while radio changes from stations to bluetooth back to stations on its own.
Component affected: electrical system / vehicle speed control / forward visibility / navigation / infotainment description of safety hazard: I am experiencing a severe, highly unpredictable, and dangerous hardware defect involving the factory infotainment system on my 2022 Honda Accord sport se. The screen suffers from a hardware failure known as "ghost touching," where the digital interface registers rapid, erratic touch inputs completely on its own without being touched. This defect creates an immediate and severe driver distraction while the vehicle is in motion by automatically placing uncommanded phone calls to random contacts, changing settings, turning the radio on, and forcing sudden, loud audio spikes that startle the driver. Furthermore, these chaotic system glitches directly impact critical driving, navigation, and safety systems: gps navigation failure: the ghost touches actively disrupt the gps navigation system. The screen will randomly force the gps map on when not in use, or it will glitch, freeze, and misroute while I am actively trying to navigate heavy traffic. This renders the primary navigation entirely useless, leaving me stranded and forcing my attention away from the road to attempt a manual override. Cruise control dropout & auditory panic hazard: the system intermittently triggers a critical error on the dashboard that completely disables the vehicle’s cruise control / adaptive cruise control (acc) systems at highway speeds. When this error flashes, the vehicle emits a loud, non-stop, continuous warning chime that refuses to turn off until the car's computer system randomly resets itself. This non-stop beeping creates an intense visual and auditory panic situation while driving at high speeds, completely shattering driver focus.
