Electrical System problem #1

"a manufacturer over-the-air (ota) firmware deployment has caused a root-level cryptographic security certificate mismatch between the audio unit and the central can gateway, matching Honda tech line article a29051. This network failure has forced the vehicle's vsp (vehicle sound device for pedestrians) safety module into a permanent hard offline (ng) state, operating the vehicle out of compliance with fmvss no. 141. The manufacturer (american Honda case #[your case number]) and authorized dealership (heritage Honda parkville) have been provided video proof but have actively refused to schedule the vehicle for a high-priority warranty repair or issue a safe alternative loaner vehicle, leaving a safety defect active on public roads. ".

Electrical System problem #2

The contact owned a 2024 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, black smoke was seen coming from under the hood, and the entertainment center screen would flicker. A message "see dealer" was displayed. In addition, the contact managed to safely exit the vehicle, and a fire had started under the hood. The local fire department arrived on scene to extinguish the fire. The local fire department deems the source of the fire to be a battery failure. No injuries were sustained, and no medical attention was sought. In addition, the contact stated that prior to the failure, the battery was replaced at a local authorized dealer. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was towed away by the Honda manufacturer, where it was taken by the insurance provider, which deemed it a total loss. The local dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 30,026.

Electrical System problem #3

Was driving 35mph speed limit in my town of nashville nc, lost acceleration with cars clearly behind me, car stalled was enough speed to turn into a parking area and car will not re start due to high voltage battery going out on me while driving. Car has 29,504 miles this battery should be replaced under warranty but service center is blaming me for it so they won’t honor warranty??? 5100 in repair bill they want me to pay out of pocket.

Electrical System problem #4

Yesterday, January 30, 2026 as I was driving (approximately 30mph) my car seized, came to a stop, dashboard lit up with multitude of words/symbols. After approximately 15 seconds I was able to use the gas pedal and the car drove. My safety was at risk, this sudden stop jolted me hard. If there was another vehicle behind me I would have been hit. The warning messages were so quick and cleared away with seconds that I cannot recall. I drove to my local dealer and the battery cables were checked and ok. I scheduled an appt for Monday Feb. 2nd as this was Friday. On January 21st this local dealer replaced my battery, after months of "computer glitches" that were never resolved with two dealers and 4 dead batteries.

Electrical System problem #5

Vehicle was taken to Honda of round rock for the integrated control module (icm) recall (NHTSA recall 25v785). The dealership performed partial service but stated a 'gateway' part is on backorder. Since this service, the vehicle has been returned to us with a non-functional speedometer, non-functional speed sensor, no a/c/defrost, and multiple disabled safety sensors. Driving without a speedometer is a severe safety hazard. The manufacturer has provided no timeline for the part and refused a loaner, leaving us with an un-roadworthy vehicle as a direct result of a recall repair attempt.

Electrical System problem #6

[xxx] my car was stolen from this address. The thieves were able to bypass security system. The thieves were able to bypass the factory security system and/or alarm. I reported the incident to the police. They did not hand me a report number but took my information and want this complaint documented as a potential security system issue. The keys were in my possession, and no modifications were made to the factory security system. I request that Honda log this complaint for investigation and provide me with a case number for my records. Please let me know if additional information is required. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Electrical System problem #7

The contact owns a 2024 Honda Accord. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at undisclosed speeds, the vehicle unexpectedly came to a stop without the brake pedal being depressed. The “brake” message was displayed on the instrument panel. The failure occasionally occurred while the cruise control feature was activated. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 25v785000 (electrical system). Additionally, occasionally the electrical system was inoperable, and the instrument panel failed to function properly, and the trunk and fuel door unexpectedly opened. The contact also stated that the automatic door locks failed to function properly, requiring several attempts to enter the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to several dealers; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures, and the contact was offered a buyback option for the vehicle. The contact expressed concerns that, due to the multiple failures, the vehicle was unsafe to operate and created a hazardous condition, because the vehicle was almost in a crash with children inside the vehicle. The approximate failure mileage was 33,000.

Electrical System problem #8

The contact owns a 2024 Honda Accord. The contact stated that on several occasions while starting and driving the vehicle, the message “system update unavailable” was displayed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact expressed concerns that the vehicle was unsafe to drive. The contact was concerned that neither the dealer nor the manufacturer had provided assistance with the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 15,700.

Electrical System problem #9

The contact owns a 2024 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, a software update became inoperable and failed to complete on the instrument panel and the connected mobile interface. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer informed the contact that the failure was related to a known hardware and server issue. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact expressed concerns that future software updates might also fail due to the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 7,200.

Electrical System problem #10

See attached document for complaint.

Electrical System problem #11

This is an addendum to complaint number 11700647, and attaches the latest service and repair record of 10/10/25.

Electrical System problem #12

Wiring harness failed randomly at 42,000 with no damage to the harness, engine, or vehicle itself. Without the wiring harness the engine does not run properly and shakes violently, causing the car to lose power. This happened with no prior warnings, problems, or damage. Additionally the steering rack seems “loose” and changes direction quite quickly when hitting a pothole or uneven roads even at lower speeds. I have to make sure I constantly have a firm grip on the wheel so no sudden unexpected direction changes occur due to imperfections in the road.

Electrical System problem #13

I was driving on an expressway 355 on Friday July 25. It was raining hard. I slowed down and was getting ready to exit on 55 when the lights on the dash all started lighting up and telling me it required immediate attention at the dealer. The car would not accelerate. I was going slow and was able to idol to the space between 355 and 55. There were cars all around me. I put my hazards on and turned it off. I waited a minute and restarted it. Luckily it started and I was able to drive. This happened on an expressway during a storm I was terrified and worried that I would cause an accident by not being able to move the vehicle. This happened once before also while raining but was in a parking lot of a gas station. I took it in and they told me it’s the 12v battery. However was not failing while at dealer. This is a serious safety issue.

Electrical System problem #14

I applied the brakes and pulled up to a light and as soon as my car came to a complete stop all of the lights just started going off. The light turned green and I couldn’t accelerate anymore and almost got rear ended. I tried turning the car off but it didn’t turn off. Instead, it just made a clicking sound and I was able to accelerate and pull into a parking lot and I was able to turn it off and I turned it back on and it the brake system light stayed on. I drove to work and when I got to work I turned it off and turned it back on and the car is fine.

Electrical System problem #15

Purchased new. Delivery date August 13, 2024 I've experienced an ongoing issue with the electronics since owning car. First issue was ecm failed. Currently having problems with the lane keeping assist (lkas). The car is alerting me that I'm not staying within my lane which isn't correct, the car then attempts to correct. The car attempts to correct, shows a lane departure warning but won't give any audible alerts as previous. During the time car alerts of road departure it clearly shows the car diagram within the road diagram. I have pictures taken showing such.

Electrical System problem #16

Purchased new delivery date: August 13, 2024 this is an ongoing issue, car indicates radar needs cleaning. Each time I pull off road to check radar no such cleaning is needed, it's clean. Once the car indicates that the radar needs cleaning I loose multiple functions, cruise control, lane assist etc. Attached picture.

Electrical System problem #17

Purchase new delivery date: 8-13-2024 car frequently indicates stop sign, yield signs, wrong way signs when infact no such signs are in vicinity of car. If someone was driving in an unfamiliar area and such appeared it could cause one to abruptly stop thinking their running a stop sign, going the wrong way. Attached picture, car clearly indicates a yield sign and there's no sign around. 5.

Electrical System problem #18

The vehicle's infotainment system displays error code tt04 on every startup, preventing over-the-air software updates, including any potential safety-related updates delivered through this system. The tt04 telematics error appeared immediately following dealer service department completion of fuel pump recall service (NHTSA campaign 24v-763) on 4/12/2025. The vehicle exhibited no infotainment or telematics issues prior to this recall service. This suggests the recall repair procedure either was performed incorrectly or has an inherent flaw that damages the telematics control unit (tcu) communication system. When I returned for subsequent recall service (NHTSA campaign 25v-785), the dealer dismissed the issue as 'normal' and refused repair, only offering to address it after I filed a formal complaint with management. This pattern suggests dealers are aware this is a consequence of recall work but are systematically dismissing customers rather than correcting their errors.

Electrical System problem #19

Honda put out a software update in March and found out midway through that there was an issue with it so they stopped it on their end. My car unfortunately is experiencing an issue which the NHTSA apparently 23- 036, 044 and 045 I do not have systems updates menu I don't have a connection menu my car cannot receive a WI-fi signal or a bluetooth signal it can only transmit a bluetooth signal and WI-fi signal at this point. The car's been to heritage Honda in parkville maryland twice I tried to take it back to the dealership where I bought it from actually, where it's leased from and still under warranty of course. Honda of parkville said they did 23-044 and where it did clear the air that I was getting on my dash where it said systems update unavailable see dealer, I still do not have the connections menu and I don't have systems update menu the main apps menu on my display unit is missing the settings gear. The power/volume button of the display is supposed to do a soft reset if you hold the power button in for 10 seconds all attempts at the back door resets whether it be the display unit power button, doing the steering wheel buttons, pulling the tcu fuse and the audio backup fuse and I've even gone so far as to disconnect the battery for well over an hour all of this is ineffective at bringing those menus back. I even have access to an autel maxisys ultra scan tool which can go in and reset the ota module it can also perform Hondas updates via the j2534 pass through on its vci adapter again all of this has been unsuccessful except for the attempt to do a software update using Hondas rental ihds software that they will allow you to purchase a pass for a day. I haven't tried that the dealers just don't seem to think there's a problem with this car I've got the owner's manual showing this car is capable of being a transmitter and a receiver for WI-fi and bluetooth. They're telling me no that because it's an ex with the 7-in monitor that particular trim level does not.

Electrical System problem #20

I was driving on a highway when the engine light came on and the car immediately started slowing down even though I was pressing the gas pedal. It flashed there was a failure of the brake system, collision mitigation braking system, road departure mitigation system, hill start assist system, and adaptive cruise control system. The check battery light also came on. The car decelerated on its own with brakes engaged. I had to choice but to immediately pull over and luckily was able to steer to an off ramp and into a parking lot.

Electrical System problem #21

The contact owns a 2024 Honda Accord. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 24v763000 (fuel system, gasoline). The contact stated while driving approximately 25 mph to the dealer, the “collision braking system failure - contact dealer” was displayed on the mobile app. Additionally, a fuel warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that rodents had damaged the wiring. The vehicle was not repaired. Additionally, the dealer informed the contact that the vehicle had passed the recall inspection; however, the contact stated that the fuel warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 9,555. Parts distribution disconnect.

Electrical System problem #22

I was driving at about 40 mph and the car lost all power and stopped in the middle of the road. Most all of the warning lights were on like low air pressure, reduced brakes and a brake problem light etc. Turned the car off and restarted and drove another 5 miles with the brake problem light still on. Stopped and restarted car and the brake light went off and all seems normal now. From my reading on Honda Accord forums it might be a bad icm unit? will be contacting a Honda dealer soon.

Electrical System problem #23

In December 2024, I was driving my 2024 Honda Accord hybrid sport on a clear, dry day after school when the car just completely lost power out of nowhere. The dashboard went crazy, flashing a bunch of different error messages every few seconds. Because the car wouldn't respond, I ended up in a side-impact crash. I was able to turn on/off the car after putting on my hazards and I was able to drive it normally and drove it towards the side of the ramp. I called my dad and after some time and turning the car on and off, the error messages disappeared and I was able to drive it safely back home. I tried to file an insurance claim (state farm #51-78k9-28m) back then, but they blamed my driving because the recall tn2 (campaign 25v785) hadn't been announced yet. I ended up giving up on the claim because money was tight and my dad was worried about insurance costs, but the car is still dented and scraped from that day as the error messages disappeared after I turned on/off the car on the side of the highway. I just want it on the record that this 'loss of drive power' recall caused my accident a year ago after seeing the recall on the mail.

Electrical System problem #24

The instrument panel display combined with the front sensor camera failed. This risked my live as well as others lives on the road due to the ill ability to predict when it will fail as well as the difficulty to control the sporadic behavior. The lane keep assist system would also overcorrect and have very strong and hard to control corrections with the wheel. The instrument panel would also turn off mid drive and I would not be able to see my speedometer. It has been seen by multiple diffferent Honda service centers and no one can figure out the issue. Camera issues have been recalled on previous models.

Electrical System problem #25

I am writing to let you know that 10/2/2024 my 2024 Honda Accord hybrid sport had sudden loss of drive-line power while I was traveling on the highway at 75mph. I was able to safely coast/navigate to the shoulder and stop. Steering and braking systems were normal. The car would not drive or restart once stopped. A tow truck was called to tow my car to the nearest Honda dealer to be fixed. There were no warning lights or sounds prior to this incident. Dealer determined root cause of problem was pcm not communicating with charging system. The pcm was replaced under warranty and my car was ready for pickup 10/18/2024.

Electrical System problem #26

I was driving a busy 4 lane street when the brake warning light came on. Car slowed down and I managed to turn off onto a side street. When I pushed the throttle there was no reaction. The car would not move. I shut it off and restarted then it would go. The brake system warning light was on. Said: brake system brake system problem. Brake performance may be reduced. See your dealer. I drove straight to dealer, and they checked the car and cleared the codes. Could not find anything wrong. I was lucky to be able to get off busy street without incident.

Electrical System problem #27

I was driving on city roads when vehicle lost power going up a slight hill and I was forced to pull over to the side of the road. I received tdms failure first then multiple failures. Restarted and was able restart but received the following warnings: 1. Brake system failure, 2. Park brake failure, 3. Collision failure 4. Electric power steering failure, 5. Tpms failure, 6. Low speed braking failure, 7. Road departure failure 8. Adaptive cruise control failure, 9. Hill start failure. Restarted again was able to drive the vehicle home but received the above warnings. Restarted again and received a brake system warning. After I got home, I restarted again and all the warnings cleared. This was a very serious error. If I was driving on the turnpike when power failed, my only recourse would be to try to pull over, if possible, stop the vehicle and restart. This would be a life-threatening situation. Checked tires front tires were 36# rear tires 33#. So, no tire issue to trigger the tdms warning. The auto technician did some checks but did not see any codes. He also looked at the Honda forum for technicians and saw some of the same issues, but they didn’t provide a solution. I mentioned what I read in the Accord forum about the Honda dealer this person went do couldn’t find codes but knew right away that it was the icm ignition control module. The technician said someone drove it today and will drive it tomorrow. He will also call Honda engineers in California for assistance. 6/11/2024 I was informed that the issue has been confirmed to be the icm module, which is out of stock now. 6/27/24 I received a call from dealer service advisor that the rental was approved by Honda, but also the part was received and the car will be ready when I pick it up. Car was out of commission due to parts availability issues for 18 days.

Electrical System problem #28

On June 9, 2024, while I was driving on the highway, my new Accord flashed a series of warning messages on the right side of the driver information interface (instrument panel). The messages that flashed and scrolled through repeatedly are listed below: electric parking brake system problem. Parking brake not available. See your dealer. Blind spot information system problem. See your dealer. Hill start assist problem. Vehicle may roll upon brake release. See your dealer. Transmission system problem. Performance may be reduced. See your dealer. Emission system problem. Power may be reduced. See your dealer. Additionally, near the fuel gauge a red brake light flashed and an amber brake system stayed illuminated. This is upsetting because I've had my new Honda Accord just over one month and have fewer than 1500 miles on it. Update: I took my new Honda Accord touring to my dealer and they examined it and told me a solenoid needed replacement. They ordered the part which took several day and replaced it. The solenoid replacement did not fix the problem and the service manager said my car needed a new transmission (ecvt). I was shocked such a new car would require such a radical repair. After waiting two weeks, my transmission was replaced. However, I'm not confident in my car. I read on NHTSA that 2023 Accord hybrid had a recall for ecvt transmission replacement. My Accord hybrid touring is a 2024 manufactured in 3/2024.

Electrical System problem #29

Bought a brand new Honda 2024 at a dealership, since picking up the car we noticed it was black and white and not clear, assumed it was a setting issue so paperwork was completed and we took the car home. It was a safety issue as having it black and white and reversing it was hard to see and several close calls on collition when backing up due to camera malfunction. Issue persisted, notified dealership and appointment was made to replace camera. Issue was confirmed by dealership and camera replaced. About to exit the dealership, put car on reverse and issue persisted.

Electrical System problem #30

Car has 4800 miles. I've owned since new (5 months). No issues prior to this. Stopped a stoplight. The gas engine stopped running, which is typical for a hybrid when not moving. After 15 seconds, every warning/error message started cycling on the driver's dashboard screen, referencing "brake system malfunction" among many other failures. Pressing the gas pedal and there was no forward movement. Brakes still worked. Put in park. Pressed "start" to shut down car. It didn't fully shut down (dash still lit up). Pressed start again, still many errors but car would move. Drove immediately home. After 2 hours, pressed start again and no errors. After 2 days of no driving, got appointment with local Honda dealer service. Drove it carefully and had no issues. After two additional days of evaluation, Honda says it's the ignition control module (part# 5k80030ba06). They had to keep the car longer to allow regional Honda rep to inspect and document the car's issue, as they said this issue is becoming a trend. Lastly, they told me it could take 6 months to get the part, due to a "national backorder" but offered no options/alternatives. Said car is unsafe to drive. This is unacceptable and I hope is investigated. This is a very dangerous issue. Had I been driving, it could have been far worse result. Attached is a photo of 1 of the many error messages that rotated on the dashboard.

Electrical System problem #31

I’ve attached a known issues that you have for the 2023 Honda Accord this is the same issue with my car 2024 I’ve been 3 times to dealer but they refuse to accept it because it’s a 2024.

Electrical System problem #32

Today on 24 December 2024, I was driving my 3 month newly bought Honda Accord sport hybrid VIN 1hgcy2f55ra003151 from tulsa oklahoma to dallas texas when the car broke down suddenly in the middle of highway. It reported sudden power train system and all advanced feature failures and asked me to halt immediately or safely and started reducing the speed in the middle of driving at 65 miles hour. I had to park urgently on shoulder on I 75 s and it was very risky considering high speed traffic flowing. I think it was a great safety risk.

Electrical System problem #33

The contact owns a 2024 Honda Accord.   the contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number:  23v782000 (seat belts). The contact stated while driving 25 mph, multiple communications failed as well as the electrical system. The gauge monitor for gas and speed, as well as all other lights on the vehicle was not illuminated. The contact parked the vehicle for the night. The next day the contact started the vehicle, the lights did not illuminate, and the vehicle did not shut off. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and diagnosed but not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 3,500.  .
