Honda Accord owners have reported 2 problems related to camera system (under the back over prevention category). The most recently reported issues are listed below. Also please check out the statistics and reliability analysis of Honda Accord based on all problems reported for the Accord.
The backup camera display intermittently goes to all black except for the yellow guidance lines that normally overlay the image. The passenger-side camera continues to work normally as do all the other dash displays. This has been happening for a several months. It seems to be happening more frequently now. These are the same symptoms as what triggered the Accord 2018 recall to fix buggy camera software. Without the backup camera display it is difficult to determine how far you are away from objects behind you and lower height objects such as small children are completely out of sight. The rear cross traffic view is also unavailable. Yesterday my wife nearly backed up into a car behind her because the backup camera view was blacked out. The problem occurred twice today. Once while in our driveway and once while my wife was backing out of a parking space. The problem has not been reproduced as it is intermittent.

Backup camera not working. Sporadically. Can’t see pedestrians or other vehicles or objects. This is strong safety issue. Car was designed to use it. Can’t visually see without it. Almost hit child on bike, and other pedestrians. Honda had recall on 2018 Accord for this, but not 2013. Have read of many, many others this model and exact problem. .
