Four problems related to air bag light on have been reported for the 1996 Honda Civic. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
For some unknown reason the srs air bag light came on and stayed on. I had not been in any kind of crash or almost crash. The local Honda dealer said there was a problem with it and Honda had did a recall but my car was out of the warranty period that Honda set up so they would charge me $400. 00 to fix.
Airbag light came on and stayed on. Took vehicle to dealer. Dealer cleared code, and said no defect was found. Consumer stated this was the second time this problem occurred.
Vehicle was involved in a frontal collision and air bag didn't deploy. Before the accident the air bag light came on and off. Dealer said that there was no defect in the air bag because the light kept on going on and off.
The airbag light is on, indicating that the airbag is disfunctioning and recently the horn and the cruise control stopped working too.
