Emission Control problems of the 1996 Honda Civic

Two problems related to emission control have been reported for the 1996 Honda Civic. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Emission Control problem

Failure Date: 12/30/1999

With only 32,808 miles on my vehicle, I am replacing both the front and the rear oxygen sensors. This repair carries a price tag of over $500. I am out of warranty as the vehicle was purchased in April of 1996. There was a recall on the emissions system, but when I responded to the recall and visited the Honda dealer in my area, I was told to bring it back between the mileage range of 50,000 to 75,000 miles.

2 Emission Control problem

Belts came of pulleys, vehicle lost control resulting in acollision. Also, replaced throttle cable/emissions/ignition/cv boots and windshield wipers.
