Two problems related to front seat belt retractor have been reported for the 1997 Honda Civic. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Was traveling 25mph & rearended another vehicle sitting too far out in the lane. Left front end pushed backwards. Driver's air bag failed to deploy upon impact. Seat belt did not restrain driver whose head hit the windshield. Had cuts to face & lips from broken windshield.
Seat belt fails to retract.
