The contact owns a 1999 Honda Civic. She noticed the vehicle would shut down without warning and after waiting a few minutes it would re-start. The failure occurred in April 2009. A mechanic replaced the battery and the failure continued to occur. An authorized dealer stated that failure was caused by the coil spring. The estimated cost for repair was $253. 97. The manufacturer stated that the vehicle was not included in recall #02v120000, electrical system, ignition switch and due to the age of the vehicle they would not assist her with the repairs. The failure mileage was 93,000 and the current mileage was 97,003.
