Two problems related to transmission shudder have been reported for the 1999 Honda Civic. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Transmission vibrates when accelerating from stop. This is the second transmission on this car. The first one had been replaced on warranty because of the same problem.
For almost 3 years and 38,000 miles after the defect was obvious, transmission has been shuddering, slipping, and grinding. When starting or breaking on a wet surface and the transmission slips, the car loses control.
