1 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/16/2021

On October 16, 2021, my wife drove the car on the way home, then there was a sudden sound (like a huge fan) and a rough vibration from the engine. The battery light turned on. Then she had a hard time steering the wheel. It was really stiff. She made very wide turns, occupying multiple spaces and lanes. She can't totally control the car. When we arrived home, we popped the hood and found out that all the 3 belts in the engine were off. We just called our insurance today oct 17 to have it towed to our mechanic. This car passed state inspection last Aug 2022 and we were able to take off 1 belt which seems to be in good condition. We also had 1 belt replaced last 2020.

2 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/21/2017

Speedometer will intermittently stop working and freeze at 20 mph. This could cause the driver to drive at excessive and unsafe speeds without being aware. Based on an internet search this appears to be a common problem, due to poor circuit board soldering, in Civics over the years with same circuit board.

3 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/07/2016

While driving I smelled then saw smoke coming out of the gear shift area. I pulled over, turned off and exited my car. I opened the hood and within minutes my car was engulfed in flames. The fire department had to come put it out.

4 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/10/2014
