Bumper problems of the 2001 Honda Civic

1 Bumper problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2002

Consumer stated collided with neighbor's car travelling approximately 5mph and the front bumper was completely destroyed. Consumer feels that bumper design is unsafe and would not offer any protection in a more serious collision. Ts consumer has had 3 other occasions where the bumper was damaged.

2 Bumper problem

Failure Date: 06/25/2001

Vehicle was traveling approximately 40-45mph in a rain storm. Consumer heard a "womp" noise, but didn't have enough time to stop. Consumer found out it was a cat that was hit. Front bumper was destroyed, but was being repaired under warranty. Consumer was questioning why damage was so severe from hitting a small animal. Consumer also backed slowly into mailbox post and caused $800 damage because of a slight cut through the rear bumper.
