The contact owns a 2001 Honda Civic. The contact stated the key would extract from the ignition without the vehicle being in park. The contact stated that the failure was recurring over a period of one year. The manufacturer advised there were no recalls on the vehicle and would offer no assistance. The failure mileage was 105,000 and the current mileage was 126,000.

The keys get stuck in the ignition and at times will not come out at all.

Failure Date: 07/03/2002

Vehicle was broadsided while making a slow left hand turn, the steering column locked up. No injuries, vehicle was totalled. While making a left turn, an oncoming vehicle hit the passenger side rear quarter panel. Because the vehicle couln't be controlled, it slid head on into a telephone pole, deploying the air bags and totalling the vehicle. The ignition key is stuck in the ignition.

5 Ignition problem

Car is stalling and not wanting to pick up speed.
