Tire Sidewall problems of the 2003 Honda Civic

1 Tire Sidewall problem

Failure Date: 07/09/2004

Driving on 4-lane paved highway rt 17 in essex county va. Operating vehicle at 55 mph and had driven about 2 hours for a total of 80 miles when the right rear tire (firestone fr 690 p 185/65 r 15 86 h m+s) sidewall separated on both sides of tire. Tire is original equipment on a 2003 Honda Civic ex purchased 8/23/03 from a Honda dealer in wladorf, MD. The tire had approximately 12500 miles and was rotated by the dealer and properly inflated at 10,000 mile checkup. Tire was immediately replaced and retained by owner. I have since replaced all 4 tires because or recent complaints filed on this website and recent events with firestone tires. All four tires are available for inspection if necessary.

2 Tire Sidewall problem

While driving 65 mph the vehicle started shaking. The consumer pulled the vehicle over and noticed that the rear passenger side tire blew out(firestone p18570r14).
