My car ran fine when started but the a few minutes later, it goes into limp mode where I cannot accelerate. Then it stalls out and now it won't restart. I do not know exactly what the problem is but my check engine light, ima and red battery light comes on when it happened. As of now, my car is not even starting. This almost caused an accident because I was driving on the freeway when it randomly decided to go into this limp mode.

Car lost power while trying to make a left turn across traffic. Ima battery charge dropped and no assist was delivered. Oncoming car was able to stop in time, but barely. This has now happened on a number of occasions. Car lost power while climbing a hill in a residential neighborhood (15 mph) and barely made it to the top. Car lost power while climbing a short steep driveway and could not ascend; had to roll backwards and "force charge" the ima battery in low gear for 10 minutes, after which I was able to climb the driveway easily. Decided to replace the ima battery due to obvious malfunction although no codes were being thrown. Problem improved significantly but once again experienced lack of power on steep, low-speed hills and in our driveway. Battery software seems schizophrenic, deciding to charge itself rather than assist when power is needed, such as hills or merging into or across traffic, even when there seems to be ample battery reserve (for example, after swapping out the ima battery it refused to provide assist on the hill with approximately 40% remaining -- 4 bars -- but will gladly provide assist at 50% + battery charge. Sometimes battery does not charge while braking downhill even though charge is needed. Unpredictable. The sudden loss of power whenever the ima assist decides that it 't* going to help is extremely dangerous. Honda is aware of this problem but has not offered any solutions outside of 150k / 15 year warranty on the ima battery, which has lapsed on our 2006. Reluctant to let my young adult daughter drive this car as loss of power while merging or crossing lanes of traffic could result in a serious accident.

I am being targeted as a driver since 2010 for driving programs that automatically adjust the weight needed to effectively press the brake and gas pedals of any vehicle. 4/8/2022 3:34 pm pst, such activities occurred when merging onto traffic on the 57 n freeway from imperial hwy on ramp. To confirm that such occurred and that it was not due to overwhelming the engine during driving in high heat conditions, e. G. 97 degrees. Car went into similar mode that exists when one or more of the alarms are active. Both alarms were uninstalled, aside from the immobilizer and key component. At w. C. Honda, the green key light illuminated during r. O. Ontario Honda didn't provide details regarding inspection other than no issues found. Confidentiality not high; observers constantly get details and mock when possible w/o detection or punishment, inclusion non deterrent. Always seems to be protecting harasser/ criminal activity. Such activities make obvious that dealer service repair is similar to a closed examination campus, I. E. Cannot always reproduce problem.

Key for this make is not recognized. Honda said it is a "inmobilization system issue. Key flashes on dashboard and it wont start (key programmed). They know about this problem for this year. I'm concerned it can stop at any given moment causing an accident.

I was driving on the freeway going 70 miles an hour and my car cut off and the airbag light came on , I called and scheduled and appointment and towed my car to the Honda dealership . Maura Honda citrus heights , they fixed the passenger air bag , and now my car has all kind of electrical problems .

The ima system keeps kicking on after driving it when you come to a full stop and put it in park and causing the car to stay in park and not able to get it in gear. Wait a little over 30 minutes and try again and it will allow you to put it in gear and drive. I have done the recall however it is still doing the samething.

Im having the same issue that another recall on a similar model has recieved the DC-DC converter has a problem charging the 12v battery causing engine failure, power failure , stearing failure and abs failure. I am unable to turn on hazard lights because of it also battery will take u jump but will not keep the charge in the battery. I was driving home and on a flat street the car was losing all instrement lights the power stearing light came on as well as the battery light the abs light and the ims light. I had to force the wheel to turn to a safe location due to being unable to turn on any warning lights. I could have been hit by another vehicle. I was driving in city conditions. I brought my vehicle to the dealership and they say my VIN number does not match the recalled one.

Micu fuse block with body control module 2265245 went out and I had to have it replaced, it was staying in the "on" position so it drained everything electrical (battery) wouldn't start, was stuck in "park" nothing electrical would work including the "key".

I have 2006 Honda and its have( ima ) check engine light on snd I called for recall but unfortunately Honda doesn't help me they said your warranty is expired I have 149k millage on.

I had faced lots of problem when I took my car from weymouth Honda during 20014 to 2016 due engine heat currently my car is running fine but lost ac compressor due hug engine heat still there are many issues but it is not stopping my drive. . . . .

Honda part#: 77900-sna-a01 (methode) -or- 77900-sna-a02 (furukawa) reel assy, cable. With the failure of this part, vehicle cruise control, radio controls and srs air bags failed. The cable reel assembly is the component that makes the electrical connection between the function buttons and air bag on the steering wheel to the non-rotating steering column. The ribbon cable inside this mechanism was completely severed on the vehicle.

6/2013 car accident I hit a parked car traveling at approximately 20-25 miles per hour. The airbags did not deploy. The company chosen to do the work (custom innovations in eugene, oregon) did not repair the motor mounts. Which im very upset about and trying to deal with. After having the work done the car was taken to Honda (kendall Honda also in eugene, oregon) to have an assessment of my car diagnosed. The was the motor mount issue and other items oil change, transmission flush and the srs light was on. Honda service dept. Could not diagnose the srs and said they would get back to me. They never did. Approx 1mo. Diagnosis at Honda, I was sitting in a park parking lot charging my phone in the car with it in the accessory position. I had been there about 10 minutes when all of a sudden the drivers side airbag in the seat and the rear drivers side curtain air bag deployed. Scared the crap out of me and my dog. I suffered minor cuts, abrasions and severe brusing to my left elbow and tricep. I immediately went to Honda. It was a Sunday so only the sales team was there. I went again on Monday only to be sent away, with a we will call you. . . . . Very dismissive and vague. Then after calling 5-6 times they finally scheduled an appointment to look into it. Afterwards, they didnt have much to tell me except that it would cost me thousands of dollars to repair and no they didnt have an answer for why the airbags went off. Essentially I feel that the airbags should be replaced free of charge in addition to the srs sensors all being replaced because I have a feeling this was all due to the recall on the passenger seat occupant detection system. . . . . Which I did not know about nor have it checked prior to any of the mentions events. I am very concerned that there is a chance the other airbags may deploy at random. I aslo would like my car to have all the recalls completed.

While driving at a low speed and using my wipers for snow, all if a sudden my wiper speed controls got messed up. I have no speed 1. Just speed 2 and 3. And the wipers also wont park properly and mostly simply not turn off after a few cycles.

History from odi # 10572660: 6-18-09 Honda dealership did Feb 2009 recall (replaced auto-tensioner pivot bolt & reroute belt) at 28,324 mi. 9-15-12 engine failed (48144 mi. ) approaching stop intersection. Subsequently would not crank to start. Towed car to service station. 9-18-12 vehicle repaired -- due to broken pivot bolt, a new Honda recall belt kit, including new bolt, belt, belt tensioner assembly & water pump pulley had to be installed. Approximately 20,000 mi. After recall kit & new bolt was installed to prevent the pivot bolt from breaking, the bolt broke and stopped the car from functioning completely. Had I been in higher speed traffic the results may have been disastrous. ----------------------------------------------------------- 12-20-13 car died approaching intersection -- towed for service. Again pivot bolt had broken, causing cascade of events preventing car from functioning -- this time within only 7000 mi. After new belt tensioner recall kit & new pivot bolt was installed. When this occurs, the car is inoperative. This bolt has been replaced three times and broken twice. I am now afraid to drive car for fear of it ceasing to run at any time. Honda internet forums specifically for the 2006 Civic mention many similar occurrences.

Within the last month, our 2006 Honda Civic on two separate occasions, with two different drivers, when the transmission was placed into reverse when backing from a driveway, did not come to a stop. Despite putting our foot firmly on the brake, the car did not stop and continued in reverse. Only by putting the transmission into drive did the car stop from continuing into reverse. On August 30, the car when placed into reverse gear when backing from a parking space, went forward instead. Our car has been regularly maintained and serviced and never had an issue prior to this. We are deeply concerned that the car poses a safety issue, because when moving from a parked position, moves in a direction other than the one that the driver chooses, and did not stop when moving in reverse. This has occurred three times to date within the month with two different drivers.

Automatic transmission failure and electric coolant temperature sensor failure in 2006 Honda Civic ex. Noticed change in driving feel over past couple of weeks--shifting was jerky, not smooth; seemed to rev slightly higher at times while driving. Engine warning light came on 2-13-13 when starting engine. Also, green light next to "drive" on the dash started blinking. Took car into Honda dealership the next day. Was told that the transmission fluid was burnt, transmission had hydraulic issues, gears not shifting properly. New transmission installed. Had all previous regular maintenance performed at Honda dealership, on schedule.

My 2006 Honda Civic has stalled on me 7 times now. Every time it stalls, I am at a stoplight or stop sign and at a complete stop. The engine goes into idle mode and when the light changes or I can go, I take my foot off the brake and try or start to press the gas. Most of the time I don't even have the opportunity to press the gas pedal before the car stalls. The car completely shuts off. I have noticed the last two times that the car's ac was on during the stalls. Before I restart the car there isn't an error code or anything displayed. I have taken my car to a Honda dealership to have it tested and each time they connect it to a computer and tell me that there isn't anything wrong or they can't produce the problem. There isn't a fuel problem because I put shell gas in my car each and every time and I checked the air filter. I even had a technician at pepboys check the battery. Pepboys said the battery was in excellent condition. I have researched the problem and others on the internet say that it could be the computer's idle speed may need to be readjusted and some say the idle air control valve is faulty. I mentioned the idle air control valve to the Honda technician and they said that doesn't seem to be a problem. There is a problem because others have reported it and the car stalls.

I was driving on I-635 in dallas in stop and go traffic just before the hwy 75 exit in the far left lane. There was an accident and construction ahead so traffic was moving very slow. My car began to vibrate slightly and then inexplicably stalled. I put it in park and then attempted to restart it. The car restarted fine but I was unable to move it out of park. After several minutes the traffic cleared and we were stuck and unable to move while sitting in the fast lane. I was petrified and called 911. After about 15 minutes I called 911 again and explained again that we were stopped dead in the fast lane of a freeway and needed someone fast. After about 30 minutes several police officers, including officer reyes, finally arrived and parked behind my vehicle to signal cars to move over. They attempted to move my car out of park as well but were not successful. They called a wrecker and my car was towed to lute riley Honda. On Feb. 10th, the service mgr at lute riley Honda said the technician found oil in the pcm and that may have been the cause of the issue but he wasnt sure. He blamed the oil on someone spilling oil during an oil change but I said that was impossible since I hadnt had my oil changed in over 30 days. I asked if it could be related to the recall issues and he said no, all the recall issues had been taken care of. I drove the car back to houston and it was fine until yesterday when it repeated the same issue-the car engine would start but it would not move out of park. It was towed to gillman Honda, houston, TX and they told me it was a bad brake switch and pcm.

Fuel gauge operates intermittently. Gauge may show as 'full' when empty; or indicate 'empty' when full. At times, gauge lighting is off and will not reflect either 'full' or 'empty' fuel tank. Has also indicated as containing fuel in tank, when in reality is near empty, which may cause driver to run out of fuel without sufficient warning.

Vehicle's audio/radio not working. 65, 000 miles, one owner. Radio switches to and from different outputs. Only way to stop this from occurring is to shut radio off. Once problem starts, it will happen more and more frequently until screen dims out and radio shuts down.

Honda Civic 2006 sedan 4 door. Approx. 40,000 miles on the car (failure occurred as soon as odometer went pass 40,000 miles). Can't shift out of park without pressing the shift lock release button. Brake lights do not work. Contacted Honda and rep there said the issue could be with the brake light switch. Rep said Honda has issued a safety recall of 07v402000 (exterior lighting:brake lights:switch) so take car to dealer for inspection. Took car to dealer for servicing. Mechanic rep says the vehicle is not included in the safety recall, but in the 07v402000 specifically includes 2006 Civic sedans. Main issue I have is that Honda failed to notify me about this safety recall. I am the original owner and my car is registered with Honda. Last time Honda sent me a postcard about the safety recall 07v399000 so I got it fixed immediately, which probably saved my life since my wheel was on the verge of falling off!.

Was at a stop sign on Sunday 5pm on driver's side window I went to close the window the window shot straight up off the track I was able to catch it before it hit ground the driver's side window is now unusable.

The contact owns a 2006 Honda Civic. While driving at any speed, especially when making a turn, the wheels feel as if they will detach from the vehicle. The vehicle bounces and shakes and the speedometer displays inaccurate readings. While driving 30 mph, the speedometer will display 50 mph and vice versa. The dealer informed the contact to check the gas cover. On one of the four occasions that she went to the dealer, she was informed that the failure was internal. Repairs were made, but the failure persists. On another occasion, the contact was informed that there were no failures. She is afraid to drive the vehicle with her children. I have a Honda Civic 2006 (lease) this car has 2 recall one on 8/30/07 and on 11/07 but the dealer never sent me any warning, note, letter or call to notify this situation, I read that by fed law they should contact me and let me know the ricks that this issue can cause me. I called because I had a problem with my car keys code and they told about this and they said sorry because they do not know why I was not notify about this I very disappointed because that is very dangerous and I do not get notify at all, I had 3 cars with the Honda all 3 are lease cars so it is not excuse that they cannot contact me also I am living t the same place for more than one year and I got my Honda bill every month.

Purchased new Honda Civic ex on 5/25/06 1st failure on 7/21/2006: front and rear (tail) running lights failed with 1666 miles on the car ---- dealership replaced fuse box. Kept car for several days 2nd failure on 7/31/2006: front and rear (tail) running lights again failed ---- headlight switch replaced, car driven by dealership for almost two weeks to ensure repair successful 3rd failure on 10/22/2006: front and rear (tail) running lights again stopped working ---- Honda America wanted car back to investigate/repair lights ---- declined request and instead have asked Honda to repurchase the vehicle, invoking the lemon law buyback provision because unreliable/intermittent rear running lights failure can lead to death or serious bodily injury and two failed repair attempts are sufficient to invoke the buyback provision in our state. Honda sent this demand to internal Honda arbitration board. It is now 11/2/2006 - 11 days after notifying them of lights failing for 3rd time.

After driving 10 miles and parking, the vehicle was put into reverse. Upon backing out the steering wheel locked. After this, the car was put into drive to go back into the parking space. With the vehicle in drive the car continued in reverse. The engine was then turned off and restarted 1 minute later. Everything was back to normal. This occurred 11-oct-2006 and 1 previous time last month. Honda has no record of this on 2006 Civic.
