4 Seat Belt problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2016

Unknown. This has been an ongoing problem for years. I finally retired and had enough time to trace it down water was getting on the floor of my car on passenger side after substantial rainfall. Extended shoulder harness webbing as far as it would go and found webbing soaking wet from water on last 2 feet of webbing that could be exposed and assume webbing still wet hidden within sidewall panel. (nobody used the shoulder harness on passenger side of car) taped off sunroof and doors on that side and found when using a water hose, water was getting into the passenger shoulder harness area and also dripping out of shoulder harness sidewall height adjuster. Removed the roof moulding trim strip on right side of roof, inspected, found no body seam sealant had been applied at the factory in the area where roof and side panel of car was spot welded when manufactured. Welds are still ok but an exposed gap was missing body seam-sealant along the area starting about 18 inches aft of windshield. I purchased seam sealant at body shop and applied seam sealant myself. Rechecked for leakage after sealant cure. Was ok. Re-installed roof moulding trim strip. Not sure if any water damage has occurred to shoulder harness mechanism. No apparent binding of mechanism at this time.

5 Seat Belt problem

Failure Date: 05/29/2015

I hit a pothole and the airbag was deployed.

6 Seat Belt problem

Failure Date: 05/21/2015

While I was driving the seat belt deployed and locked up on me and I wasn't in a crash. I had already had it replaced (paid about $700) and it locked up (deployed) again without a crash. Honda refuses to cover it. One Honda dealer had me drive to another (without a working seat belt) and neither dealer will cover it and Honda corporate said it will not be covered.

7 Seat Belt problem

Failure Date: 04/22/2015

The seat belt forcefully locked up while I was driving. Very scary. I could not loosen it. I pulled over and after a few minutes my brother in the passenger seat was able to help me unbuckle it. There was no crash. It just locked up without warning while I was driving. I didn't hit a pothole or a curb. Seems like a safety issue that Honda might have tried to take care of but they won't cover the costs of repair since it is out of warranty.

8 Seat Belt problem

Failure Date: 01/13/2015

Tl- the contact owns a 2007 Honda Civic. The contact stated that the driver rear seat belt the webbing of the seat belt buckle was never stitched nor bolted to the seat during manufacturer. 9 Seat Belt problem

Failure Date: 05/30/2013

The srs light on my Honda was on for the past month. This is a known issue that is affecting lots of Honda Civics of 2006 and 2007 that Honda refuses to acknowledge. The wiring harness has to be replaced and the passenger side weight sensor, which is close to a $2000 repair. When I asked Honda corporate (customer service mariann at 800-999-1009) I was arrogantly told they do not care because the car is outside of warranty. It is disgraceful that Honda markets safety in their vehicles, but does not stand behind their srs system failing prematurely. This is not a wear and team item and no one sits in my car besides me. There should be a safety recall on this since airbags will not deploy whether or not we wear seat belts.

10 Seat Belt problem

Failure Date: 11/09/2012

Driver's side seatbelt frayed. Taken to dealer for repair and was told that seatbelt being caught in the door caused the damage to the seatbelt. The seatbelt does not retract fully, so this may be causing the belt to be closed in the door. The seatbelt material should be strong and durable and should not be damaged by a door. This is a tremendous safety concern and should be addressed. An order for the replacement parts was not completed by the dealership, so of course, parts were not available at scheduled appointment for repair. The vehicle was forced to leave the dealership, with a faulty safety component of the car (seatbelt) and no guarantee of driver safety and proper function of the seatbelt if involved in a crash. Cost is not an issue, since the safety of family comes first and owner im willing to be responsible for charges since this was not covered by a warranty. Scheduled with another dealership for repair.

11 Seat Belt problem

Failure Date: 08/23/2011

The contact owns a 2007 Honda Civic. The contact stated that the vehicle seat belt would not disengage. The contact mentioned that he had to continue to press the release button and move it around in order to disengage it. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. There was no damage to the bumper of the other vehicle and minor damage to the contact's bumper. She called Honda of America and they stated that the seat belt worked properly. The crash caused the seat belt to loosen. The contact was informed that no one would come out to inspect the vehicle because they already had pictures and saw the damage. 13 Seat Belt problem

Failure Date: 10/22/2008

The dealer replaced my passenger seat. After that my srs warning light went off. It's been cycling on and off for years now. I was too frustrated at how I was treated at the dealership to go back at the time. Now I went in because I need to pass inspection and they tell me my whole srs system has had an internal error.
