Yhe weatherproofing strips of all my windows are melting and coming off. One already did. I dont live in a very hot city. Im afraid it will allow water to leak in door and get to electronics and mess up window function. If window goes out you wouldnt be able to roll window down if an emergency arises which would be a major safety hazard. An a rank in the automotive industry.

Unknown the paint on the top of the car and the trunk has peeled off and creates condition for rusting of the metal parts. This in time jeopardies the structural integrity of the car especially in accidents. I have see description of number of Honda Civics with this problem.

5 Body problem

Failure Date: 05/30/2018

I have a 2010 Honda Civic si and on 4/29/17 I brought my vehicle to the Honda dealer to address the chaulking, clouding of my paint. This was repaired by campaign # 14-034, entitled: paint chalking, cracking, clouding warranty extension. This was repired and the paint looked great after picking the car up. Now on 5/30/18 exactly 1 year later the same exact thing is happening to the paint on my car on both rear doors and right side pillar above the passenger front door. I brought my car to the same Honda dealer to have this repired but they are telling me that those panels are not covered under the campaign. But I was under the impression that these panels were originally repaired on 4/29/17 because when I brought the car in there was some clouding in those areas although minimal in comparison to roof, trunk, hood and fenders. So it's my conclusion that they only compounded the minimal clouding/chaulking to bandaid door panels and pillar instead of the proper fix because less than a year later I'm having the same exact issue. Honda clearly has a issue with their clear coat because these clouding/chaulking on both rear doors and right front pillar look exactly the same way as my roof, hood, fenders and trunk did and they repaired those items on 4/29/17 thus accepting responsibility. So Honda should be repairing the clear coat on my doors and pillar now.

6 Body problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2018

Paint has been peeling for at least 3 years and body shop told me Honda has major issues with paint on many years of vehicles. My vehicle has been serviced many times at the dealer where was purchased and no one, not dealer or Honda themselves have notified me of such re-call or warranty of this particular issue.

7 Body problem

Failure Date: 11/29/2017

Abnormal cracked and peeling paint on the hood, roof and trunk. Honda is aware of this problem and issued an extension but has never provided a notification to owners affected by this known issue. I am now one year past due and only found out there was an issue when my local body shop advised me to call.

8 Body problem

Failure Date: 10/17/2017

Multiple panels have been repainted on this car due to faulty clearcoat. The last panel has failed, and Honda has only offered to pay for 50% of the repairs. This is a known manufacturer's defect, that Honda hopes to shift to the consumer of their vehicles.

9 Body problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2017

Paint defects on hood, trunk and front 2 quarter panels, clear coat is flaking off. This is a known issue to Honda. I decided to take my vehicle to the dealer to see if there was a recall. Dealer stated there was a "warranty extension" for this issue but that it expired 7 months ago. I was never notified of this, is there anything that can be done? a quick google check shows that paint issues are a huge problem for Honda.

10 Body problem

Failure Date: 09/21/2017

My 2010 Honda Civic has considerable fading, erosion of paint over most of car. I have had repairs over three consecutive yrs, 2014, 2015, 2016. I began noticing more damage late summer 2017. I contacted Honda in September 2017. Unfortunately their customer service was less than helpful and very negative in their answers. Also , if I had not explored this on my own, each of the prior yrs; I would not have had the repairs done,as Honda did not inform me of recalls and the local dealership was not up front with this continued problem. My car now has fading, damage to hood which is spreading,,rt passenger door, side panels, my car looks old, damaged. Now if I want this fixed I am on my own. Honda hasn't offered any help. What a sad way to treat customers won't buy another. How can a company exist with such poor customer satisfaction. Sorry situation what can be done to help the customers. ? I sent Honda email sept 2017.

11 Body problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2017

Large blotches of oxidized paint on roof & trunk that is progressing rapidly. My wife brought it to the dealer who initially said that they would "take care of it". When she returned later, a manager told her that we would have to pay $1,300 to have it repainted. I was very alarmed to find many consumers on the web with the identical issue.

12 Body problem

Failure Date: 04/20/2017

I had my paint recall fixed on my 2010 Honda Civic at a local Honda dealership. They had it for 4 weeks without any loaner car, and now the paint in peeling off my car. The body doesn’t seem to be put back together correctly. The rubber were the body fits together is coming apart.

13 Body problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2017

My paint on the top of my car is decaying like crazy. It is chipping off and looks horrible.

14 Body problem

Failure Date: 08/30/2016

The sun visor on the driver side cracked and the seam, causing pieces to fall while the vehicle was in motion on a highway. The visor no longer remains in the proper position when not in use and obscures vision, particularly at night.

15 Body problem

Failure Date: 09/24/2015

The motor mount on my 2010 Honda Civic needed to be replaced at approximately 45,000 miles. A quick search on the Honda forums revealed many other people complaining about this issue, some of whom have had to replace their motor mount multiple times. This would appear to be a known weakness in the design which Honda is not addressing for owners.

16 Body problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2015

The paint on this blue Honda Civic 2010 has been wearing away for years. There’s chips of paint missing on the hood. There is paint wear on the roof in two wide strips, on the trunk all over and the fenders. Also, the roof, when washed by auto carwash, buckles in when being dried so you can tell metal is thin. There’s definitely a defect in these Civics I see them all over the place and every blue one almost has worn paint just like mine! Honda had to have done something wrong with these paint jobs, they should repaint them for free!.

17 Body problem

Failure Date: 01/06/2015

The paint began to fail and I contacted Honda's website as directed to find all issues (recall and TSB - technical service bulletins) and there were no items. From 2015 on we would check. Then I found an article that said it was covered under an extended paint warranty. I was never contacted. I called Honda and they declined to fix it saying that I purchased it used. They gave me a $7000 quote to fix the car. They said because I bought it used, they did not have to contact me. The entire car has clearcoat failure leading to paint failure. The car has been maintained regularly, garage kept and washed / waxed per recommendations. The experts and Honda have said that this is a manufacturing failure but they did not feel that they had to tell all owners.

18 Body problem

Failure Date: 07/30/2014

About (3 year warranty) 3 months after the warranty expired these white spots started the form on back and trunk of the car. The dealership claims it is wear n' tear but if you were to look up how long a paint job is suppose to last. . . Should be 10+ years if properly done. The really should fix this problem for free but unfortunately they do not. Now I have to pay a significant about of money to prevent the entire vehicle from turning into swiss-cheese.

21 Body problem

Failure Date: 01/13/2013

I was parked in shopping center. I came out of cvs pharmacy and carefully backed my car out. I began a left turn lane (still in shopping center) not into main road and suddenly the car's speed escalated rapidly and I could not stop it - it jumped the curb and in trying to avoid hitting shops car crashed headlong into light pole. It would appear that the gas accelerator was stuck. The airbag came on and I was injured by that. The front end of auto was badly damaged. This is a Honda Civic 2010 and there was a crash and one person injured (me) which when I print this your form reverts to original form.

22 Body problem

Failure Date: 11/18/2011

There have been three (3) front end collisions on this vehicle. 2 were deer related. The first accident was a deer hit, at 60 mph. , body shop said because the deer hit directly in the center of the front of the car, airbags did not deploy. The second accident in November of 2012, daughter was traveling 69 mph on the interstate and swerved to avoid hitting a deer. She traveled approximately 300 feet down a ditch and back up the other side, striking an embankment, coming to rest 2 feet from oncoming traffic on the opposite side of the interstate. The virginia state police officer said at the time, he couldn't believe the airbag didn't deploy. The front end of the car was totally disengaged from the car. The last accident, June 2013, younger daughter was involved in a 3 car accident. She rear ended the car ahead of her who had rear ended the car ahead of it. Wet roads were a factor, however, this was again a front end collision, with a speed of 40+ mph. While we are very thankful that no one was injured in any of these accidents, it's certain the airbag in this vehicle does not work.

23 Body problem

Failure Date: 09/24/2011

I had to replace the brakes on my Honda a year after purchase. No matter what breaks I replace them with the brakes seam to wear-out very fast. Since my purchase in 2010 I have replaced the breaks on the Honda several times (2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016), it almost seams to be needing replacement every year. Also since 2013, the paint on the car seams to be pealing, cracking, and has became very cloudy. I will not purchase a Honda again.

24 Body problem

Failure Date: 04/12/2010

Good afternoon, my name is [xxx]and my husband and I leased a 2010 Honda Civic in February 2010 through randy kuehl Honda here in cedar rapids. Starting in April 2010, we have noticied problems with the body/metal/paint with the car. We feel our 2010 Honda Civic is not safe to drive and our afarid something is wrong with the metal of the car. On, June 14, 2010 while cleaning the car, my husband and I found another dent on what we believe is the passenger interior kick plate of the car. This dent just appeared and is a mystery. If our Honda was in a crash would it perform as the metal is denting for no reason. We also have dents on the truck and it appears to be getting worse. We also have three other paint/metal spots on the car too. We also demanded for the Honda rep to look at our car but this has not happened. I have also ask for a different car and Honda is not responding. We are now asking for a full refund of our lease as we paid for the full three year lease upfront. We also have spoken to the owner of the dealership but says we have to go through Honda. And the service manager also does not want to help. Please help us as we do not feel safe driving our leased Honda Civic as we do not know what will hapen next to the body structure, to the paint and what new dent will appear to the body of the car next.
