For the past year I have been calling Honda of north America regarding my dash flickering out where I can not see how fast I am driving, my engine temperature and how much fuel is left in my car. On October 22, 2018 I finally got in touch with someone at Honda in the president's office who said this is a safety issue they would address the issue. They transferred me to an agent who was created a ticket for my complaint. The ticket number is 09071328. They said someone would contact me and that didn't happen. When I called back in on Tuesday October 23, 2018 then told me that they don't want address this issue unless I pay for a Honda dealership to run diagnostics on my car and I pay for it out of pocket. For the diagnostics. I know I am not the original owner of my Honda but if Honda admitted to me that this is a safety issue that needs to be addressed, I feel Honda should address this issue at no charge to me. Please contact me back at 475-775-6214.
On several occasions, while my daughter was driving at normal speed of traffic on the highway, as well as on streets, the car simply shuts off. This occurs regardless of the level of fuel, even when it is full. The car has been serviced and maintained per recommendations by Honda. It is not a battery issue. After a few minutes, the car is able to start again. It is very scary when it happens. My daughter took the car to a Honda dealership and at first they did not find anything wrong so they "released" it back to her. Unfortunately, it stalled out again while she drove it so she brought it back to the dealership. They have since been able to replicate the "stall out"themselves but have not been able to find the cause. They have been in contact with Honda engineers to investigate, but it is unclear if they have ruled out a defective fuel level sensor, ignition problem,or electrical problem or other issue. They have had the car for three weeks.
A certified used car from dealer owned since 10-24-2013 I experience power surges when stopped at stop sign or stop light. It only happens once in a while where rpm's race to 3,500 rpm for a few seconds and leaves no error code so it's hard for them to trouble shoot. I had car at shop 4 different times. On 1-27-14 I drop off car for rpm problem while stopped in traffic and some other incidents. Service department looks over car and finds nothing wrong. On 3-20-14 I drop off car, for same problem as noted above. Service dept. Looks and finds 2 pcm updates from Honda service bulletin and reprogrammed pgm-fi naa740 and a/t naa670 failed p/n: 37820-rna-a75 on 5-21-14 I drop off car for same problem as above and felt like car engine speed was on even on highway one morning. Service dept. Preformed pcm/ecv reset and ckp re-learn on 7-21-14 I drop off car for same problem. This time car raced to 3,500 rpm for 7 seconds while foot is on brake. Dangerous (saftey)? sererice dept. Cleared pcm of tp sensor readings. Performed relearn for tp sensor. Completed the pcm re-learn. Completed idle re-learn. I don't know how long this can or will last??? before next power surge or is it fixed? if things stay consistant then it would be around September and my warranty is getting close to expiring.
The contact owns a 2011 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while driving approximately 10 mph and depressing the brakes, the engine rpms increased as the vehicle accelerated independently. The contact shifted into neutral and shut the engine off in order to stop the vehicle. The contact noticed smoke emitting from the engine compartment. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis however, the technician was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that an engineer would inspect the vehicle. The engineer was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 14,785.
(odi number) 10464481 already on file. Automobile is at dealership, no rental car provided as promised by american Honda corporate office. Dealership is stating that unless the duplication happens while the automobile is at their location; nothing can be done? car is accelerating at stop lights while foot is on brake, and car will not accelerate at times when the gas pedal is applied. Doors are automatically locking.
While driving vehicle, loss of acceleration. When accelerator was applied, only rpms moved, the car would not respond. Numerous times at stop lights, the car rpms would accelerate pass 3 and 4 without any application to the gas pedal. Took car into Honda dealership and was told that nothing can be done unless it occurs on the premises.
As I was following a row of cars into a driveway of a shopping area, I took my foot off the brake just to roll a few inches since traffic was bumper to bumper. Unexpectedly my car lunged forward on to the driveway hitting the truck to my right and a car to my left that was exiting the driveway. Before I could make sense of what happened, I put the car in park and pulled the emergency brake. I had the car inspected by the Honda dealer before it went to the repair shop. Honda ran a diagnostic test on the car and could not find anything that could have caused my car to accelerate in such a manner. Total cost of repairs $7800.
