On the first occasion, upon turning the key to start the engine there was no ignition. I turned the key off and tried it again and the engine started so I thought it just my imagination playing tricks on me. About six months later, this occurred again and it took numerous turns of the key to start the car. Honda inspected the car and reported nothing wrong. On the next occassion, I left the car with Honda for a week. The relatively new loaner car (Honda crosstour) gave me the same problem one day while my car was being inspected. I presented video to the service manager when I picked my car up and received the same dumbfounded look I had been getting all along from the service reps at cary, nc autopark Honda. Upon picking my car up, I was told they had found a techline reference concerning occasional starter issues with some of the newer Hondas. They would not provide a copy upon my request, but they did change out the starter. When I contacted american Honda, my request to get this change of starter and the issue in writing for potential problems in the future, the request was denied and I was told all my files are saved by Honda and that if any needs were to arise in the future, they would evaluate coverage for the repair. On a separate occassion (battery wouldn't charge properly), I was told (after the update) that the charging frequency software had to be updated and that it would only cost me $60. I was quite irritated with Honda trying to make me pay for the sub-par software engineering at the manufacturing level and refused to pay a dime. It is a shame Honda seems to be content with sinking to the depths of other car manufacturers, and I will be looking at other makes next time as Honda is no longer the company I had believed it was. It is a real shame when loyal customers are treated like they are not needed for the continued success of Honda. Oh well!.

Pasenger airbag while driving, had an 11yo about 100lbs, if kid slighthly moved I would get the airbag warning. Brakes sometimes it feels like I have to completely "floor" the brakes to stop the car, even tho speed its at about 30mph fuel when tank is almost empty, the light, screen and 'ding' would go on non-stop until refueled display the milage number would start blinking randomly.

Some clicking noise coming from under the hood when car the is accelerating to shift gears, this only happens when the car is started first thing and then if you let the car sit for 5 minutes. The clicking happens only 2 times in a row and then when the car accelerates over 10 miles the clicking stops.

When I am about to go downhill and take an exit at 40 mph after driving at constant speed of 65 mph for some time I see this problem. Rpm is suddenly spiking up from 1500 to 2500 and stays there for at least 5 seconds. Hit brakes or gas does not bring it down. Good thing is the speed of the vehicle is not going up. That's the good sign but who knows what happens. I thought this was the problem with econ drive but I turned it off about 3 months now and still having the same issue.

Front seat ergonomics are bad! curves your back forward and head down. The headrest is tilted too far forward and down. It has ruined my back. Visibility front and back is minimal. Can't see hood or car corners. Distance to objects, other cars etc. Is a guessing game. When foot is resting on brake and you step on gas, engine drops to idle. Dealer says this is a safety feature. It's dangerous!!!!!.

Consumer writes in regards to problems with snap shot device the consumer stated when the monitoring device was plugged into the vehicle obd-ii diagnostic port, it was supposed to the send certain information to his insurance company, which would be a 30% discount off his policy. After plugging it in, the device must remain operational for a period of six months. After months of data logging, his insurance company would send a rebate based on his driving habits. The device was supposed to monitor vehicle speed in graph form, the time of day/night the vehicle was operational in graph form and the number of hard brakes per trip and per day. The information was pulled from the vehicles system onboard computers. The consumer stated she had two issues with the device; she stated she drove at the normal posted speed limits and she would brake in a very conservative and safe manner and not slamming on the brakes resulting in a hard brake, which her insurance company defined as greater than 7 mph per second. She stated she has accumulated as much as 13-15 hard brakes per day and some days with zero hard brakes because she drover the vehicle slow as to not have to brake at all, which resulted in the normal flow of traffic, backing up behind her, which was an actual a traffic infraction.

Sense the date of purchase the noise level from the road surface inside the car has been vary loud. I down loaded a db app in our iphone and have measured sound levels above 90db. On our recent vacation on highway 197 between the dalles and bend or which had been just tar&graveled the noise level was in the 90db+ range for close to 4 hours. This noise level is hazardous for adults but extremely dangerous for infants and young children. I complained to the dealer and they blamed the tires (which are the originals), but they did not replace them. It's illegal for the driver to wear head phones or ear plugs in CA. The car should not really on special tires to maintain an except-able noise level in the passenger compartment.

I bought a fully loaded 2012 Honda Civic si sedan, with navigation. Car was wonderful first few weeks, then the issues started. When I engaged the clutch into 1st gear, also reverse, when I would level the clutch with the gas pedal, I would hear a high pitch noise. Kind of like a squeal. In all types of conditions. It is worse in the snow, rain, up a hill, and what not. I took it to my local Honda dealership, the tech testdrove it with me. He heard the noise, he said that he heard it. He thinks it was something hitting the clutch-plate. He said OH Honda is not gong to fix this due to your style of driving I said excuse me? he said well there is no need to have an intake, and an exhaust. By the magnuson-moss warranty act of 1975 it states: if a vehicle is bought new, and you put aftermarket parts on it, just because there are aftermarket parts, it does not void the warranty. If the dealership realizes the issue, and just verbally says they can't fix it due to the parts, without even lifting the car up, that is illegal. They have to find the issue, and say why the aftermarket parts are affecting the clutch. I then called the delership owners son, he said email me the issues, and the VIN. I did, he forwarded it to the customer service manager. When he received the email, there was a corporate Honda representative there. He read my email, and said that they need to look at it. The manager called me, said he received the email that I sent the owner, he said they have to re-make the sound again, even tho they heard it, and put me threw the ringer again. There are also alot of parts inside that need to be replaced. So I have an appointment next Tuesday, hopefully for them to see the issues. There are many people on forums for the 12 si, 9th gen, that are complaining also. The Honda rep said that it was normal in many clutches to hear a high pitched noise?.
