I purchased a new Honda Civic 2014 on 6/27/2014. One month and a half later during my morning commute, each time I tried to speed up to 50 miles/hour, I started feeling some jerkiness. Since it was a new car, I was not sure that it was normal or not. About a week after that, one morning when I was very slowly pulling the car out of the garage, the car stopped and the engine died. I turned on the engine and tried to move the car again. This happened 4 times on the same day. Next day I called the car dealer and took my car for the inspection. They found that the transmission had a defect and it had to be replaced. Then on 10/19/2014, when I was driving a street, I got a tire pressure warning. My husband helped to add air to the tires, but the warning sign did not disappear. On 10/27/2014, when my husband was driving the car in the afternoon, a series of warnings appeared (vsa, tpms, eps, abs). After he got home, he called the dealer to ask for towing service to take the car back to the dealer as he did not feel safe to drive the car. The car was towed to the dealer next morning. The dealer replaced the abs sensor and performed the software update for the vsa system. However the dealer stated that it could happen again.

The tire pressure warning light came on July 10, 2014. All tires measured 33 psi. On July 16, six days later after the dealer reset the system the light came on again. All tires measured 33 psi and again the dealer reset the system. Honda America was contacted and indicated they would have a software fix by the end of July. On October 13, 2014 the tp light came on again and the tires measured 33 psi. The dealer will have another go at resetting the system on 10/14/2014 for the third time. The car now has 2596 miles on it. What is Hondas problem?.

Purchased my vehicle 5-28-14. First problem occurred 7-8-14. I noticed there was a wet spot on the side panel by the window on the drivers side. Went in to criswell 7-11-14 to complain about the issue. Went back 7-14-14 to complain again. After being given the run around, the sales manager allowed me to bring it in on a Saturday (7-19-14)after the service manager told me I could not bring it in on a weekend, service had to be done during the week. Was not going to be provided a vehicle to get to and from work. Problem was said to be caused by a block in the ac valve. Second problem occurred 9-13-14, I heard a whistling sound coming from my sunroof while driving on the highway, I was going 75 mph. Took it in to hersons Honda 9-18-14 and picked it up 9-19-14. They had to replace/order a new window for my sunroof because the original window came unglued from rubber sealing. Complained to american Honda for the second time for my car, was provided a rental. Third problem, went in for routine oil change 3-21-15, service advisor told me my car had a fluid leak. No one at the dealership could or would tell me what type of fluid was leaking from my car or where the leak was. Service advisor asked me to bring car in on 4-4-15 to have it looked at, allowing me to leave their dealership with a leaking vehicle.

After having the car for 1 month the tire light came on saying from the computer on the dash "check tire pressure. " I went to where I bought the car twice and nothing was wrong with the tires and they shut the computer symbol off. Then 3 months goes by and it comes on again, I brought it in and they claimed "there was a small leak in the tire. " majestic Honda fixed it?? and made me pay $100. 00 for this. Now it is June 29th, 2015 and my light went on again and in another tire it was low. The tire was actually low and I had to put air in it. I will be taking the car back to majestic but I think that #1 the first few months something was wrong with the computer, I do not think there was any leak in the tire, I looked at the tire and I did not find where they "fixed the small leak. " now in another tire it is going flat. I have read that you have had problems with the tires and I do not feel that I should have to pay for this. You had a recall on certain models but not mine, there is something wrong with the tires and your electrical with the tires. Please call me back and let me know what is going on. I do not think I should have to pay for these tires when their was a recall and maybe you missed mine. Also my friend bought the exact car I did and her light "check tires" goes on consistently.

The car was two weeks old when the tire pressure monitoring system warning light came on while traveling at highway speed. There was no problem with the tire pressure. The car has been in the service shop on 3 occasions for a total of six and one half days and the problem is not resolved. As of 6/4/14, Honda indicates that the computer is not reading the tire pressure correctly and that they are not able to fix it. They say may have a soultion sometime in July 2014. The warning light continues to come on at random intervals and various speeds, making the warning system useless.

Inflate tire light went on in less than 24 hours of driving. Learned from parts manager that this is common and a software issue. No fix right now. Hands free calling works about 50% of the time. Not safe to use while driving and frustrating the other half of the time. Honda corp. Says this is common and we need to get used to it only working sometimes. Mileage on sticker said 30mpg city / 39mpg highway. I get 22-23 mpg on suburban streets (not short city blocks). This is worse than my 2001 Honda accord that I traded in for this Civic. One of the reasons I bought the Civic vs. The accord was due to the great mileage I was assured I would get on the Civic. Not even close. I am a loyal Honda owner for the last 25 yrs. This is my 4th Honda and it will be my last. I view this car as a lemon. No car (especially a Honda) should need to be fixed in the first 24 hours of ownership. It's been to pauly Honda 3 times in the last 2 weeks of ownership. They have been very defensive. Beware. Honda does not make the cars that it used to make.
