And 09/18/23 again fix air conditioning problem( cover warranty from Honda corp. ) in lamacchia Honda syracuse, NY. . . Now I have same problem no working air conditioner . . What now ? one times I pay . . . Bellow pictures from my car hot air coming.
Air conditioner: 2019 I purchased a 2016 Honda Civic touring with 25,000 miles, when we were given the carfax it did not state the ac had anything wrong with it or from any personel at Honda. Last thing on our minds being this car had low mileage and year was to check the ac. We didn't need the ac much until summer of 2020 we live in California (bay area) it was very hot, ac did not work was blowing hot air, before that we just thought the car wasn't heating enough and we did not keep it on to learn it would never cool off. We did take it in and were told we needed to pay for them to check it and see if it was covered under warranty. I then looked on line to find there was a lawsuit against Honda for the same thing. Then the California fires came, we drove the car with the windows down by force and it was hard with the heat and smoke, but had to do it to get to work and daily things, it was ugly we couldn't even take the kids with us. We also have a child that has a condition where the heat effects him too. Paying into a car with a defect that Honda is well aware of is not ok. It's 2021 car has about 36k miles now, it's summer and we're still suffering from the heat, hot leather seats and we are hoping no major fires.
Air conditioning is blowing hot air. I think it might be a known issue for this year, make, and model.
The air conditioning no longer works on the drivers side only blows hot air;the passenger side blow cool air,Honda has known a/c issues with the corrosive 1234yf refrigerant that impacts the entire cooling system. Service bulletin 19-091 covers the condenser however does not cover the compressor, clutch or coil and those parts are a costly fix. The air conditioning compressor is a known issue with the 2016 Honda Civic. The compressors are known to leak and costed me $1687. 47 in a 4 years automobile with only 27062 miles for replacing the compressor. Honda has ignored the problem and they should recall or issue a service bulletin extending a warranty for those defective a/c parts.
The air conditioning compressor is a known issue with the 2016 Honda. They are known to leak and cause the owner $2,500+ in the first 5 years, replacing the compressor.
The air conditioning no longer works on the drivers side. The passenger side blow cool air, but the driver side only blows hot air like the a/c isn't on. This causes the windshield to steam while driving due to the temperature variance, along with creating an extremely uncomfortable driving experience that is hazardous in hot weather.
The air conditioning stopped working on our 2016 Honda Civic in early summer of 2020. We were told by the dealer that it was the compressor and would cost in excess of $2000. 00 to fix. We opted out of the repair at that time. I have since discovered that Honda has now extended the warranty for 10 years.
I have a Honda Civic sedan 2016 ex-l. My vehicle has 36,943 miles on it. I took my car in for service 11/29/19. I asked them to check the air conditioning since it was not feeling as cool and there is a recall for the air conditioning condenser. I was told it was fine. Again I had my car serviced on 2/14/20 as I would be driving a distance. I left and while on the road the air conditioning went out on the drivers side. Because of covid I took the car in on 08/18/20. That is when I was charged a $150. 00 diagnosis fee. Adam came back 2 hours later and told me that it was my a/c compressor, clutch and coil. It would cost $1794. 97 to fix it. Only they didn't have the part and didn't know when they would. I called a local Honda mechanic to get his opinion. They told me they would check to see if the compressor was on recall because they fix several of them. if it's not it should be. the Honda mechanic said that they could order the part that day. I bought this car because prior owners stated Honda was reliable. This car has been anything but reliable. The protective plate dropped down and got twisted while driving on the freeway. Had the car in at least 7-8 for the problems with the radio as it is the brain of car. Replaced the battery early on in my ownership. This car is a big disappointment. Every thing that has gone wrong with my car I had met someone at the dealership with the same problem. As well as reading many complaints online. Especially with the air conditioning in the 32,000- 36,000 mile range!.
Air conditioning blowing warm air - not cooling when it is turned on.
Air conditioning condenser was replaced under recall Jan. 2019. Ac stopped working by June, 2020. Condenser needed to be replaced again, but was on back-order. Over 5 weeks later, condenser was replaced in August 2020, but dealer reported compressor was leaking and needed to be replaced, for about $1,200. Honda refuses to cover more than 30% of that cost, according to both a regional representative and a Honda of America representative. The compressor is on back-order, indicating that a high number of compressors are failing. All the above work and diagnosis were performed by Honda dealer the automaster, shelburne, vt. The car has under 33,000 miles and is less than 4 years old. I'm the original owner. There appears to be a class action for this issue, initiated in California, case 2:19-cv-10537, filed Dec. 2019, us district court for central district of California. Having no ac is a safety issue in at least two ways: it's dangerous to drive in a hot car, and a fogged windshield obstructing driver's vision can't be cleared without ac. Honda should cover the full cost of correcting these safety issues.
Air conditioning compressor failure was diagnosed by Honda dealer. Took car to my auto shop and the auto shop cannot order part from the Honda. He also mentioned there are quite few failure of ac compressor on this model. Is there a problem with compressor and if Honda have a recall?.
The air conditioner stops blowing cold air at idle and occasionally even when driving. This may pose a safety issue in hotter climates if there are children, elderly people, special needs persons, or pets in the vehicle when parked. Reading through the internet, there are hundreds if not thousands of owners with this same issue due to a faulty ac condenser from the factory. Honda has extended the warranty on the condenser alone but has not issued a full recall or warranty on the other parts/labor involved. This car has only 53k miles on it and this is the second time being serviced for this same problem.
2016 Honda Civic. Problem with air conditioning blowing hot air both when vehicle is in motion and stationary. I took to the car to the dealership and was told both condenser and compressor had leaks. Condenser is covered under extended warranty but the compressor was not costing in excess of $1100 to repair. Was informed by dealership they are receiving 3-4 vehicles per week with this issue. It is clearly a defect in the manufacture of the vehicle.
The air condition is not properly working. Even if you put on high it takes 30-35 minutes to cool the car. . . . And it is not that cold.
I took my 2016 Honda Civic to the dealer after the air conditioning stopped working in June of 2020 to have it inspected for a leaking a/c condenser, which was covered under an extended warranty per a letter I received in November of 2019. The dealer inspected the vehicle and found the condenser is leaking and would be covered, but also stated the compressor is leaking and the repair would cost $1583. 00. When I asked if a leaking condenser could cause damage to the compressor they said they weren't sure. I then asked if they were seeing a number of condenser and compressor failures at the same time and they said yes. There have been a number of customers with simultaneous leaks in their condensers and compressors. I believe these need to be investigated and Honda should extend the warranty on both.
Air conditioner in 2016 Civic failed in November of 2019. Honda covered the condenser but charge full rack to replace a connecting hose, $450. Now June of 2020 same issue where a/c is blowing hot air. Honda dealer tells me that the condenser and compressor need to replaced. Condenser is under extended warranty. Compressor was replaced at a cost of $1600. These parts are all faulty need to be covered. Car was purchased in 2018 as a cpo from Honda dealer. Car has under 63k miles.
Air conditioner on driver's side not cooling/blowing warm air. Honda dealer performed diagnosis and found system slightly low, and found ac compressor is leaking. Cost to repair is $1900. 00. Our 2016 Honda Civic had 33k miles and is garage kept and well maintained. I searched the internet and found the compressor leaking is a common problem! this should not be happening on a car with 33k miles on it!!! I have been a Honda owner for over 20 years and expect Honda to issue a recall or extend the warranty on the compressor/cooling system for this known defect. This system has not lived up to the reasonable expectation of reliability of Honda cars, and that an ac compressor should last more than just a few years with low mileage. This is well beyond what would be considered as normal wear and tear! I am disappointed and upset that Honda so far has not done the right thing in addressing a known defect and doing right by their customers for a very expensive repair in the middle of pandemic when many have been unemployed or financially impacted. Do the right thing Honda!! cover this repair under an extended warranty!!!.
Air conditioner started blowing hot at 35956 miles in motion.
My 2016 Honda has began to blown hot air through my air conditioning unit while I'm driving making it very difficult to breath. This begun on 4/2020 while driving on the highway. I took my car to norm reeves Honda in the city of cerritos, CA and they said that the condensor is leaking as well as the evaporator. The condensors that Honda has been using on there 2016 - 2018 Honda Civics have a history of failing and that is why Honda is now extending there warrant of them for an extra two years however Honda also know that the evaporators are defected also. I have spoke with american Honda and they are aware of my problem and refuse to help. Honda also knows that you can't replace the condensor without servicing the evaporator and that is the way that they avoid having to repair the defected part on your vehicle. To replace the leaking evaporator, Honda said they would charge me $1,609 and even though this defective part was causing me breathing trouble, that the evaporator is not covered in the new extended warranty and that I would have to come up with the money. If Honda had made me aware of this defect at the time of purchase, I would have never purchased this car. I believe this is a safety issue due to the fact that that the car is pumping hot air into the vehicle even while turned off causing breathing trouble as well a vision trouble for any driver in the car. Please help in any way that you can. Thank you cell 310-879-3354 cell 323-399-6759 email : mr_moore1700@yahoo. Com.
The air conditioner stopped working on my 2016 Honda Civic ex. I bought the car used in December 2018. The ac worked fine in 2019, but has not worked at all in 2020. It blows hot air on the left side and barely cooler air on the right.
Faulty air conditioner system that has an extended warranty covering the compressor and refrigerant leaks.
Air conditioning and cooling, other Civics of this year and model were recalled, my vehicle has the same symptoms yet Honda is not honoring recall.
I bought a Honda Civic 2016. I notice that my front led light maker does not work only left side work and it is about to go out too. Sometime it goes on as its please. And air condition does not blow cold air . I hope they recall all these problems. .
Air conditioning not blowing cold after 3 months of filling up freon.
The air conditioning blows hot air.
The air conditioning compressor stopped working. There was a leak in the compressor.
The air conditioning system in my car started to blow hot air on the driver's side while remaining cool on passenger side. I took it the dealer where I bought the car and was told that the condenser had a leak which was caused by a rock or rocks. I was told that although there is a 10 year warranty on the condenser it doesn't apply because the part didn't fail, it was due to road debris. This is despite the fact that the front of this model of Honda is completely open under the bumper easily allowing small rocks and bugs to enter and be embedded in the condenser. I was told that the compressor "blew up" because it was still running with low freon and would not be covered either. This is despite the fact that the vehicle should have a low pressure switch which shuts off the compressor when there is low freon to prevent this type of damage. I was told the cost of repairs would be $1854. The service manager has not returned my multiple calls to discuss my concerns about the vehicle. I have had all of my service done at the dealership and when this started becoming an issue last year I would have thought Honda would address it and let consumers know what steps could be taken to prevent the damage - if that is what caused the condenser to fail. As other complaintants have noted this is an issue for clearing the windshield in rainy weather, I have already experienced that problem and it is an issue in hot weather especially for people with disabilities affected by hot weather, the elderly and children. I can provide the dealer estimate and pictures of the car's front and condenser if that would be helpful.
My vehicles just past 3 year period and air conditioner is blowing hot air. Took to dealer and they say low on feon and needed recharge because only seeing 120kg out of 420kg gas. Must have leak somewhere. All my pervious car I had have no issue w/ lost of feon. Something is going on and dealer is not telling me.
2016 Honda Civic, air conditioning quit working causing the defroster not to work creating a dangerous visibility because the windshield remained foggy.
The air conditioning unit of my 2016 Honda Civic sedan failed to function normally after having worked profitably at the start of this summer season. Replacing the fuses associated with the air conditioner's function did not yield in a change in performance. After having taken the vehicle to a dealership for service, it was found that the condenser of the Civic was faulty. Neither trauma nor damage was found by the service personnel. Furthermore, they had indicated that this is quite a common complaint of this year's model. Thank you for your time and for your consideration of this manufacturing issue.
Air conditioning system not functional (discovered may 2019). Blows only hot air. 31-32k mileage on car (on may 2019). Purchased car new in Feb 2016. Had noticed a decrease in cooling efficiency in summer of 2018, but didn't take car in for inspection, since I don't use a/c much. Didn't need to use a/c again until may 2019. Car was <4 months over 3 year warranty (but under 36k miles), so dealership where car was purchased refused to cover repair cost under warranty. Was given repair estimate of $1,150, which was to cover cost of replacing a/c condenser, o-ring in discharge line, and new refrigerant re-charge. When driving in rainy, high humidity weather, windows more prone to fogging up because there's no cool air to blow on inside of window to clear condensation - because a/c system is non-functioning.
Air conditioning system does not work. Dealer wants $2,382. 15 to replace a/c compressor w/ clutch and coil ($1500. 26), condenser ($599. 04), evacuate and recharge complete($159. 95) filters and air cleaners ($122. 90) , air ventalation system cleaning ($89. 95). 2016 Honda Civic ex 70,491 miles. Last year I brought the car to dealer and they vacuumed and refilled the system ($159. 95). This year same problem, no cold air and now being told entire system is defective. I can not properly clear my front windshield because does not work properly because I don't have a/c .
In the summer of 2018, with the air conditioning system on, it was blowing warm air on the driver side while the passenger side discharging cold air. Took the car to the dealer for inspection. The service department informed us there was a leak. A dye was added to the recharged refrigerant. Early this month, April, the ac wasn't provided any cooling. Took the car to the dealer and was informed that the ac compressor along with refrigerant piping was leaking and need to be replaced.
The a/c compressor failed, shooting out ice particles into my face. Honda acknowledges the condenser was faulty from the factory and replaced that component, but refuses to acknowledge that the faulty condenser probably shortened/cause issues with the life of the compressor causing it to fail. Is cost prohibitive to repair and lack of air conditioning causes health and visibility issues with the front windshield in the winter.
Air conditioning system went out. Blows warm air and makes hissing noises. It takes a very long time to defog the windshield reducing visibility while driving and making it uncomfortable to drive. The vehicle was in motion when the problem was first noticed. It takes over 10 minutes to defog the vehicle.
