"eps fault" fault in the electronic power steering. Steering is affected with check engine light and power steering light. Car not running right. In motion.
The vehicle, after being driven the day prior without issues or any engine lights, will not start the next morning. The only engine light that is on is the electronic power steering light. When I try to start the car, the battery doesn't even click. I even jumped the battery to reinforce the idea that this is likely not related to the battery - still no clicking. After online research, I found that there was a recent recall on 2017 Honda Civics for the same issue - the eps system. Unfortunately, this recall is VIN specific, and when I called Honda to inquire about my vehicle, they told me that even though this sounds exactly like the other recalled Honda Civics, they were unable to do anything because my specific Civic was not being recalled for this matter. For a car that is less than 2 years old, with no accidents, something as significant as an eps failure should be handled more seriously. This kind of failure, if occurring during operation of the vehicle, could result in major auto accidents.
