Abs module failure. Abs cruce control stability control lights on dashboard.
We are experiencing a technical issue with the vehicle, which appears to be caused by a software or component error, rather than user error. This situation has led to the car starting unexpectedly and presenting challenges that could compromise safety while driving. Unfortunately, there has yet to be a recall or resolution communicated by the authorities.
Sudden loss of acceleration. cvt transmission failure. Vehicle has been single owner and properly maintained, only 72k miles on it. There have been no issues with the transmission up to this incident. Pulling out of a parking lot the car revved and seemed like it wasn't going into gear. Car came to a complete stop in the middle of the road and could not move in any gear. We had it towed to the garage and they confirmed that the transmission oil was completely burnt and that the transmission needed replaced, which they agreed was completely premature.
The passenger side cvc axle is too short and everything that it calls for is 36 in and 1/8 the original is 38 and 5/16 it don't make no sense I've been talking to everyone.
Suddenly loss of acceleration. Transmission failure. The vehicle is at stonecrest Honda. If not for my quick action and low traffic this could have caused a serious accident had I been at highway speed in heavy traffic. Stone rest Honda has confirmed transmission failure. Only warning lamps were unrelated. Intermittent lamps for the brake system and O2 sensor. Both rarely come on. Have had codes ran multiple times no one is ever able to fix the O2 code even the Honda dealership the vehicle was purchased from. Break system lights have been addressed and updates have been done previously and had only re-appeared just before the incident. I have had no issues with my transmission or I would have had the vehicle serviced. No slipping no strange sounds. This came out of nowhere leaving a parking lot from work not even 20 mph. I buy Hondas for the reliability and to have my transmission go at not even 100k miles is almost unheard of. My last Honda was 250k+ and still ran great when I traded it in for this one. This cvt is a problem.
The contact owns a 2017 Honda Civic. The contact stated that after she started the vehicle, the gear shifter failed to shift into neutral. The contact stated that the parking brake warning light was illuminated; however, the parking brake was not engaged. The contact then stated that the steering wheel seized. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed and determined that the parking brake needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was notified of the failure and stated that the failure could be two separate switches related to the parking brake. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.
When driving at any speed, there is noticeable jerking in the power steering whenever making minor movements on the steering wheel. Rather than smoothly adjust the direction for the vehicle, this jerking will forcibly redirect the vehicle to move in the direction the steering wheel was turned. This results in the inability to smoothly drive straight and results in unpredictable jerking movements, which is a huge safety issue at high speeds. Similar recalls for this problem have been issued for other years of Honda Civics, but not for the 2017 one.
I have oil dilution in my 2015 Honda Civic ex-t VIN 2hgfc1f38hh650552. Dealer performed the fixes. The next time I had the oil sample checked it was worse. The oil smells like a weedeater. I am at 13. 72% fuel in the oil. Very rich. I live in alabama where it is hot. I only drive long distances to and from work on the interstate. I need help. Honda is doing nothing. They are not telling the dealer anything or sharing any specs as acceptable percentage fuel in the oil. It is a coverup. Tsbs have been done and engine checked and injectors are good. Please advise.
Sudden body control module failure causes multiple, false warnings (while in motion and stationary) to light up such as brake system, steering, oil, battery, keyless remote system. Driver does not know if she/he should heed these warnings. This can be dangerous while driving. Car accessory mode would turn on by itself (while car is turned off and key is away from the vehicle) and drain out battery. Honda service technician found bcm faulty. Please refer to recall #: 20v-771 on this known issue with Honda vehicles. This recall needs to include Honda Civics.
Just the other day I floored it to pass someone and my car stopped accelerating on the highway with a flashing check engine light. As I pressed the gas the rpm's would go up but I had 0 acceleration. I eventually pulled over and turned off the car and immediately when I turned it, my car star shuttle before stop the acceleration and happend every time when I try accelerate the car.
We drive a 2017 Honda Civic hatch and we had to take vehicle to dealership. They diagnosed it with rodent issue chewing thru wire. We now have to fix it and replace wire and the dealership will put a take to deters rodents. We have to pay $500 dollars to replace. My husband was driving home from work and his power steering stopped working. I called Honda and they said we have to pay for damage but they did say many customers have called Honda to complain about issue. So it is a know issue and no recall has been done. Does someone have to die before Honda does something about it. Help.
I was driving on the freeway and the engine began losing power. Soon after, multiple warning lights on the dash lit up. I barely had enough power to clear the busy freeway. The car was towed to autonation Honda in chandler, az, where the technician discovered fuel in the oil. He said Honda was aware of the problem on this 1. 5 turbo engine, but no fix existed. He changed the oil and released the car back to me. After just a few minutes online, I discovered the history of this particular engine issue. I know Honda says it only happens in cold climates, but that day was over 100 degrees f. Also, the oil had been changed at the same dealership approx. 6 weeks earlier and only 619 miles before the event. I am now afraid to drive it at night or on the freeway in case this happens again.
My car randomly lost power in the middle of the freeway forcing me to turn on hazards and make my way from the express lane to the nearest off ramp going 20 mph while trying to avoid an accident. My check engine light began to flash rapidly causing further anxiety. Fortunately I was able to make my way to safety and call a tow truck. I attempted to have my car delivered to the nearest Honda (walnut creek CA) however they did not have any availability for a few days. The car also had lots of smoke coming out the exhaust and read check engine oil level on and off. It was a nightmare and who knows what it's going to cost me to repair. On top of all the work I'll loose being my work relies on my car 100%. I've owned nothing but Hondas however this time I feel I made a bad purchase buying a new 2017 Civic. I've kept up with maintenance, only goes to dealership, pumped nothing but premium gasoline. I am sad, upset, angry, anxious and very much still in disbelief that this is happening to my 3 year old car at only 80,000 miles . What can I do? is anyone else having same issue? I got a code p0299 turbo underboost.
Sometimes the car will start by itself and then the alarm goes off . Ann this happens when the car is sitting in the driveway.
I stopped in a parking space and turned off my 2017 Honda Civic touring sport in a parking garage (2/27/2020) when the car was in drive, not park. while storing items behind the passenger seat, the car rolled across a lane of traffic (12 feet?) and hit another car causing bumper damage. My car did this so silently that the only alert I received was the crash itself; the car's collision avoidance system did not engage. My 14 month old baby was sitting in a rear facing car seat. Had other drivers not been careful, there would have been a side impact collision. As far as I know, these cars are supposed to go into park when they're turned off. In closing, I did a google search, and several other 2017 and 2018 Honda Civic owners have filled rollaway car complaints like this one: https://topclassactions. . Read more...
At cold start, the idling engine shakes the steering wheel, dashboard, and much of the cabin. It feels like a poorly seated motor mount. I've driven Civics my whole life and have never felt a shake like this one. I took it to the local Honda dealership and left it overnight in hopes of replicating the cold start. They could not reproduce the problem but I'm beginning to worry.
My oils is being diluted by fuel strong oder of gas from oil. Shows that it is over filled . When it is cold out side my engine feels like it is stuttering and it starts to click under acceleration. My car has already had fuel rail and injectors replaced under warranty for misfiring issues and my car has shut off on me multiple times while driving on busy 50 mph roads and had to coast into a parking lot. Every Honda dealer I've brought it to says this is normal and will not admit that my oil is diluted. But I heard them saying how bad the oil smell of gas.
Vibration in engine.
Right half shaft defective.
New Civic sedan just turned over 1 year old and it has always shifted weird at times, almost causing me a few accidents (mainly at acceleration). Stopped by dealership (Honda of covington) sometime in the fall and service person said that lots of Civic owners stop by and complain about how the transmission shifts, but this is just "how they are" and they will get better as they build more of them. I didn't buy a Chrysler or edsel and expected my over 20k spent on this vehicle to be better than that. Sometimes it engages roughly when we shift into drive and sometimes it lags a while then jumps into gear. We now have around 8k miles on this 4 door sedan.
The contact owns a 2017 Honda Civic. While the vehicle was parked, it rolled away independently. The failure recurred twice. As a result, the contact injured her foot and required medical attention. The vehicle was taken to auburn Honda (1801 grass valley hwy, auburn, CA 95603), but the cause of the failure was undetermined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 4,411.
I was driving down I-30 merging on the highway. I put it in sport mode and try to get up to speed but all of a sudden car goes to limp mode. Then would not go over 40mph. I was able to safely pull off from the road turn the car off and back on. Cleared all issues. I took it to the dealer next day and no cel was stored.
Since the first day driving less than 10 miles home from the dealership I have had numerous electrical, a c and drive train or wheel problems. The vehicle had been transferred. From a santa barbara CA dealership to a Honda dealership in san luis obispo CA. They called me on a Sunday to say the car was there it was raining and dark. Car had 400+ miles one it and safety check had not been done since it was originally received when is was 0. On the 7th of a 10 mile ride home the whole. Entire dashboard first sizzled out like an old computer. Monitor going bad then. Completely went blank. I could not tell how fast I was going. At that point I had not yet hooked up my phone. To apple. Play which is a whole nother software endless. Glitch bag of issues. I have had the car for about a year. It popped the hood and almost burned my hands on the hood arm. The digital dash turns black at least 2-3 times a month (no miles. Per hour, etc). Every other day my in dash factory screen radio goes black. The car unlocks itself overnight every few days. Most if this increases with frequency when it rains. At least one time a week the car won't unlock by touch even tho I have the key on me. Since day one the climate control will randomly turn on full blast. Since day one right front loud bearing noise near tie rod arm and loud knock/bearing/bump noisr in drive train area; under dash and in and inside doors and sun roof rattle so loud I have to turn up the music not to hear it like parts are loose, at 9 months hot full blast 90+ degree heat comes on when the a c is turned on (stuck. In heat mode) eventually after being turned off will reset itself then work normal. This has happened again 4 tines in the past week. Since day one turn signals get stuck and don't disengage unless forcibly forced. No clear coat on door jams. Hood, trunk and doors have uneven gaps/misaligned. Cracked lights.
