1 Windshield problem

Failure Date: 06/20/2023

The contact owns a 2018 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while his daughter was driving at an undisclosed speed, there was a loud popping sound coming from the rear of the vehicle. Upon visual inspection, the contact observed a baseball-sized hole in the lower right corner of the rear windshield. As a result of the failure, the entire passenger’s side half of the rear windshield later collapsed. The contact stated that there was no impact to the windshield to cause the failure. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic however, the windshield was not replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was 59,000.
