While in park, out of the blue, four different types of adas lights came on the dashboard all at the same time. (acc, collision mitigation system problem, road departure mitigation system problem, & brake system). Cruise control, automatic, high beams, etc. No longer worked. Dashboard said to take the car to the dealership. At the dealership, Honda said there was a malfunction with the radar sensor. They ran the diagnostic test, and after updating the system, the problem was fixed.
On six different occasions beginning at the end of June 2024, my daughter has been driving to work in above 100 degree temps, sometimes 110+, and her a/c stops blowing. She has stopped the vehicle to turn off the ignition and restart, but it does not work. Her commute to work then becomes extremely unsafe in the az heat and she has been completely soaked with sweat and dizzy upon arrival until she can get hydrated. I am deeply concerned and have an appointment with Honda superstition springs, mesa, az tomorrow 7/3/2024. I hope they can find the issue.
Sticky steering at highway speeds. Have to manually correct steering causing unsafe control of vehicle.
I have reported this to american Honda - my driver car lock has been not working properly since 2024. It will intermittently not work to unlock the driver's door. Also, it will intermittently not lock my car automatically when I leave the vehicle with the key fob. The first time I took the vehicle in - they replaced the front door power latch. Since then, I took it in on may 2025 - they said since the car does it intermittently, they cannot fix it. Well, I just took the car back today, 12/09/25 - and I am leaving it there until they can find out what is the problem. In a emergency, if I needed to open my driver's door, to avoid a dangerous situation, and could not, I would be harmed. I have taken videos, and showed the dealer to help identify the issue. American Honda said to take it back to the dealer and have them fix it. I would like my vehicle fixed or bought back from me.
I got my recall done already, however, the problem is getting worst after 2 weeks of regular driving. The steering will suddenly gets hard/stiff when driving. It makes it hard to turn and it's dangerous when driving on freeway. I almost got into an accident on the freeway because the car in the front change lane last minute without signalling, and at the time my stiff steering acting up and cause the delay of turning.
The contact owns a 2022 Honda Civic. The contact stated 30 minutes after the vehicle was parked, the vehicle made an abnormal loud beeping sound. The contact stated that he then noticed that the vehicle was on. The check engine, adaptive cruise control, turn signal warning lights and other warning lights were illuminated. The contact turned off the vehicle and disconnected the battery. The contact stated that upon reconnecting the battery, the failure persisted. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring. The dealer was notified of the failure, and the contact was advised to take the vehicle to the dealer for diagnostic testing. Additionally, the dealer informed the contact that a diagnostic fee would be charged because the vehicle was not under warranty due to the mileage. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 37,900.
The steering wheel keeps jerking and it feels like the car swerves whenever it wants to. With and without the lane assist. I have stopped using lane assist and it still has the same issue.
Had my power steering checked by Honda and they said it was fine. My steering wheel is extremely unsafe to the point where I am always almost getting in accidents. Now I am out of warranty and need this fixed. I have replaced all 4 tires rhllthat were chopped. The noise coming from the sticking wheel sounds like it is effecting the tires. Something is electronically not correct and you can feel this as you turn the wheel, even slightly. Please help.
The contact owns a 2022 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed and attempting to complete a turn, the steering wheel required him to manually return the steering wheel to center. The contact stated that he also became aware the vehicle failed to unlock utilizing the keyless entry, and upon entering the vehicle, he observed the dashboard sensor indicate that the rear passenger seats were occupied, though they were unoccupied. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that various wires within the wiring harness were disconnected. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 59,000.
Not the sticky steering for sure and also fill I have the faulty steering rack even tho it’s not included in recall I can feel something running on the driver side floor while turning.
I recently purchased a 22' Civic ex used less then a week ago and noticed the steering wheel acting almost as if its sticking/catching when driving 45-50mph+ and doesnt want to correct unless you pull/yank to get out of turn. Ive also noticed having to make many small corrections while driving even in a straight line like it wants to veer due to the constant jerkiness almost like an alignment issue but tighter. It is a safety concern especially with how hard it can be to correct; even worse on the interstate at higher rates of speed and more traffic. Issue seems to gradually get worse, the warmer the car is. Took car in to music city Honda to be inspected, they test drove and noticed issue. Was unwilling to fix bc my car is just outside of warranty. Manufacturering errors/issue should be fixed free of charge!! told me it would cost $3200 roughly to repair! the car was purchased from dealer with the issue! called Honda corporate to file complaint, and now filing here. This is really an unacceptable issue!.
Starting from low speeds, you have constantly correct the steering. As you are driving, the steering automatically motions to the right. This causes u to correct the steering constantly, even at low speeds. Speeds of 45, it becomes dangerous.
The electronic power steering system in the Honda Civic is failing. Steering wheel frequently “sticks” causing the driver to oversteer, in order to “unstick” the power steering mechanism. Power steering is notchy and sticky feeling, increasing in persistence. The vehicle feels unstable, thus unsafe for continued driving.
Sticky steering and it makes micro adjustments at highway speeds dangerous. Hard to keep in my chosen driving line safely. Not as noticeable at slower speeds. Theres plenty of complaints mentioned in forums. Glad im not the only person its happening to. Some dealers are replacing steering racks supposedly. I havent taken mine in yet because I need my vehicle for work. Not sure what I should do honestly. Low oil pressure light has randomly come on 4 times since ownin car also. Pull over let it sit and check oil, its fine and it doesnt come back on.
When traveling on the highway, the cruise control system will cut out on random intervals, and not be available to turn back on unless you stop the vehicle, turn it off, and then turn it back on again. This poses an electrical system risk, and may encourage drivers to pull over on the side of the highway to restart their vehicle to regain access to cruise control. There are already many reddit and online forums about this issue I have linked below. There is also a service bulletin issued out for this issue, so Honda is aware that vehicles are affected, but this doesn’t actually fix the issue, since my car has already been in for service regarding this issue. . The steering sticked to complete super heavy to try to pull and I tried to brake and lost control and crashed into a tree damaging my right side fender and front tire. This car is unsafe putting my life on the line. Ex-l Civic is not safe. The issue doesn't go away it does it every time I go 30-45 and steering just stop working as in it stuck and heavy so I took it in after the incident and dealership told me everything looks fine they joy ride my car and didn't catch it so I told them to let me drive them and they caught it stating its can be steering rack which they want me to pay out of pocket for I told them warranty should cover it they stated not a defect just failure from my driving which is not right as the car only had 500 miles. I always hear noise of a tapping between the wheel and something else.
The car was parked in a safe location over night. When I attempted to start it in the morning the car ran poorly and displayed numerous warning light on the dash including evap control, brakes, steering, and various automated systems. Upon calling the dealer I was told to it was not safe to drive and to have it towed to the dealer. Which I did.
While traveling at highway speeds, the vehicle suddenly engaged emergency braking causing rapid reduction in speed. The vehicle repeated this multiple times almost causing an accident due to other vehicles behind and around the car.
This vehicle is two years old, has 70,000 miles on it now. It’s worth noting that this issue started when it had 15,000 mile on it several years ago. I took it to the dealer, but they told me they wouldn’t do anything about it since the light no longer indicated an issue. Randomly, the vehicle will suddenly say “collision mitigation system problem, see dealer” and “adaptive cruise control problem see dealer”. These two warnings always show up together, and always turn off lane keep assist and all cruise control options until the warning disappears. The warnings will pop up 5-6 times a year and sometimes last several days, sometimes only seconds. Dealer initially told me it may be due to water after it rains but now it’s happening even during dry weeks when we haven’t had rain in ages.
I was driving down the freeway in January and my front driver side tire sidewalls separated from the rest of the tire and flew off of the rim causing me to drive on the rim. Zero warning lights or tire pressure lights appeared on my dash until after I installed my spare tire. Very scary this occurred on a freeway at full speed and no indicator light came on. I heard a loud noise when my tire flew off which then required me to immediately stop.
The steering is sticky meaning it feels like the power steering is not working and it makes the steering more difficult and harder to control. When the speed increases on the highway the issue is even more noticeable. No warnings pop up and no other issues/symptoms happen prior to. Another issue we are experiencing is electrical. During frigid temperatures when starting the car every car warning pops up and shows no safety and vehicle systems are working, this issue happened every time the temperature was lower than 15 degrees and now I notice a delay in my led screen popping up when starting my car so the screen stays blank for the first few minutes of driving my car. Not sure if these 2 issues are related but it is definitely worth mentioning because I'm afraid an electrical issue or steering issue will be the cause of an accident.
I have been having issues where the 2022 Honda Civic sport car will die intermittently at lights. The technician who looked at my car said there was no problem and that I was good to go. The issue has been when stopping at a light, the car engine shuts off and a battery signal light shows up. The other electronics in the car appear to work. Right before the car dies, during breaking it feels like abs is turning on. The car has to be put into park, turned off, and restarted to get going again. This happens approximately weekly, and it is particularly bad when I am in the middle of an intersection. Component suspected of failing is the engine on off auto at stop. This is a safety issue because car dies in the middle of intersections. The dealer was unable to reproduce; however, it happens on an approximately weekly basis. I took it to Honda and they said they could not reproduce it, the car was “good to go”. Only indication is the battery light indicating.
Since I've owned the car, when driving above 40 mph(when lkas may engage), with lkas off, the steering becomes statically neutral. . . I. E in a turn the steering wheel will remain in the turned position when pressure on the wheel is reduced. In this case the steering wheel( as well as the front wheels themselves) should straighten out as you continue to move. This is dangerous. Also, at highway speeds, in order to maintain the center of your lane small inputs to the steering wheel are normally required. In this vehicle, there is resistance to these small inputs. When the force of your input finally overcomes the resistance in the steering wheel the wheel turns more dramatically than intended(overcorrection). This is also dangerous. This also occurs with lkas off. It's almost like lkas engages the steering column preemptively above 40 mph but in a dangerous manner.
The steering wheel locking up during driving randomly without warning this cause me to crash into the sidewalk during my right turn damaging my right side lower bumper and front wheel cracked so I already replaced the wheel with a new refinished one. This issue is a non stop problem I would really appreciate if Honda reconsider all trim not just sport and touring as my car is an ex-l model which I paid for touring price so I want to be help too. I already took it to the dealership and they didn't fix it and just joy ride my car caught it on dash cam even the sound of the wheel locking up too. Goudy Honda alhambra inspected my car. This was an on going issue since I test drove the car and I call it out and the salemen told me its normal which I knew it isn't, but I waited 3 month for this pre-order car so I'm not going to not take it. Please help me fix this issue as its should be under warranty, but dealership state they won't do anything unless the issue is serious which I don't feel safe driving my new Honda.
My steering wheel stiffens and requires and extra force to move it, causes me to swerve and also causes excessive swerving. I’m afraid of getting in an accident because of it. I am getting it checked soon. Highly annoying and concerning.
I traded in my 2022 Civic in November because the car would randomly shut down because of the faulty denso fuel pump. I told norm reeves cerritos that once I put fuel cleaner the car will shut down 3-5 times the same day and will reoccur again in eight months. Replicated same problem with the sports model after car was in shop 3 months because of an accident and while doing uber this week with witnesses. Filed numerous complaints with bbb and Honda corporate all were ignored and they blamed me for putting a third party device in the cigarette lighter.
My car locked up the steering and then I hear a random noise and I don't have control of it so I almost crash into another car, but was able to move over into a stop sign so my front bumper got hit and I already took it into a shop to do a replacement bumper.
Vehicle purchased new from Honda dealership in yuma az in June of 2021. Within 2nd day of ownership, the cruise control abruptly shut off causing a safety risk of driver's behind me coming close to rear end collision. The cruise control has abruptly and without warning has randomly shut off over 40 times since then. Vehicle has been taken in for repair 4 times with no resolve. Honda tried adjusting brake switch on first repair attempt, did not fix the issue. Second and third attempts the dealership replaced the srs module and the brake switch. Drove vehicle for 800 miles, then the issue arose again, causing the car to immediately slow, causing others behind me to have to brake quickly putting me at risk of rear end collision. Opened a case with american Honda, case number12509879. American Honda and the dealership states "they can not fix the issue until they actually see it for themselves acting up", which it does not act up when they drive it. I have many, many videos of the cruise control randomly shutting off and me being unable to reengage the cruise control. The only solution so far is to pull off the roadway, shut the car off, restart it, cruise will activate then. . Read more...
Adaptive cruise control will shut of randomly and for no reason. Must wait for it to re-engage adaptive cruise control or power off/on vehicle. During this time the auto high-beam feature is not useable.
Since day one of purchasing the vehicle which now has 6000 miles on it the cruise control intermittently drop out and you cannot reengage it unless you pull over turn off the car and restart the car.
Cruise control (either in adaptive cruise control or regular) disengages randomly and if you attempt to restart the cruise, the cruise control will not work. The cruise control icon will appear on the center display and beep, with the words "cruise control off", to get this working again, the only way I've found is to stop the car and either put it in park and/or shut off the car or turn it back on. The problem seems to happen at random, and so the dealership at this point can not help me. This does not seem to be an isolated incident as others have been posting online about the exact same issue. . Read more...
Have a 22 Civic touring sedan. Two weeks ago two days in a row I have got a warning that there is a problem with the supplemental restraint saying it’s with the airbag or seatbelt and to shut the vehicle off and to restart and to contact a dealer if it persists. I shut the vehicle off and turn it back on and the error clears. The same thing happened last night after I got home from work and unbuckled my seat belt on 9/29/21. Others on a Honda Civic form online for this year car have reported the same problem and there doesn’t seem to be a fix yet.
Once stopped by a light or a stop sign for a minute the car will randomly shut down engine and the car will lose all power. The vehicle randomly shuts down and does it after 3-5 hours of driving. The car has to be put in park and the ignition needs to be started again.
The electrical system does not read my phone , my phone is an ios device. The lane departure is not accurate and it needs to be calibrated.
After driving anywhere from 20-30 minutes my car’s cruise control feature experiences a bug. From my experience while the vehicle is in cruise control the cars system will make a low tone elongated beep and the cruise control system will stop working. As the vehicle is in motion and attempting to engage/set the cruise control feature the hud alerts that the “cruise control” needs to be on/active. No matter how many times you deactivate and activate cruise control the system will not allow you to set any desired speed because it perceives the cruise control feature as “off”. The only fix I’ve found is to come to a complete stop or park and restart the vehicle. I’m not the only person to experience this. The photo uploaded shows the hud telling me that the acc is off when it is in fact on. However the system will not engage and set the speed. Yet, I hope I have offered the most details. My suggestion is to rewrite the coding/update for the cars system to detect the cars cruise control feature. Or implement a double click which overrides/automatically turns the cc feature on and sets the desired speed.
Hello, I am a victim of cyber stalking. My vehicle was broken into and someone downloaded some type of application within the audio system. I am hoping you can assist by contacting Honda on my behalf. I have tried going to a local dealership and ask for assistance with a software update but they said I had to download an app on my mobile phone. I cannot download the app because the person is accessing my phone. I have gone to the authorities several times in the past. I am asking that please contact Honda motor corp. And if they can contact the dealership in weymouth MA and provide instructions for how they can provide a software update to my vehicle. The person is tracking my every driven mode. I tried doing a factory reset but that does not work because there seems to be an app or something imbedded. I was just going to remove the external radio feature which is mounted but this, external piece, I believe assist with some safety features. This has been going on for over a year.
