The head gasket was failing and the spark plugs were enduring spark blowout and the car was misfiring occasionally I tried entering the highway and as I was merging to the highway and getting up to speed the car suddenly starting flashing the check engine light and wouldn’t accelerate anymore when I gave it gas as I was entering the highway and a big truck towing vehicles was coming so I had to get to the emergency lane and stop the vehicle and the trucker had to slam on his brakes when my car was supposed to accelerate it completely shut down and started slowing down. Causing a dangerous situation.
Car won’t go into gear. Unable to drive. Smoke smell inside cabin. Dealer states likely a clutch/clutch plate issue. Apparently, reported on previous year model with a TSB but not on the 2022 one. Need to tow car to dealership now.
The vehicle has 42,070 miles on it. It was being driven and suddenly the clutch started to slip. Then, when trying to pull away after a stop, the vehicle only was able to travel at 8 miles/hour in first gear. No messages were received before the clutch failed. Vehicle was towed to a local repair shop and we were given a quote to replace clutch, flywheel, and pressure plate. We then had it towed to a Honda repair center to seek assistance from Honda on the repair because the clutch failed at such low mileage and they diagnosed the cause as premature wear and tear. We know that a bulletin was put out in September 2022 regarding clutch failures with certain Honda Civic sport models from 2020 and 2021, so we asked Honda for support. They declined because the 2022 model was not covered by the bulletin, even though our Honda had already been produced before that bulletin was released. We believe that our issue is related to the issues with the 2020 and 2021 models and have found that other 2022 and 2023 owners have experienced similar failures. We have included our request letter and escalation request, as well as the repair quote from zeigler Honda racine, WI.
I took my vehicle to the dealer after receiving the first recall notice. They inspected it and informed me that my car was not part of the recall, so they returned it to me. However, I continued to receive recall letters and communications from attorneys regarding the issue. According to the dealer, my car was in good condition. Despite this, I recently noticed unusual movement in the steering wheel, which ultimately caused me to crash into a concrete pole.
Clutch failed at 45000 miles due to early wear. Clutch failed on interstate and resulted in full power loss of vehicle requiring a tow. Honda had previously identified a manufacturing defect with the friction plate as noted in sb-22017 issued in sept 2022 covering my 2020 and 2021 vehicles. My vehicle was built in late 2021 and was equipped with the same part as identited as failing in sb-22017. Per Honda dealer, repair of my vehicle is not currently covered by sb and therefore all costs are responsibility of owner. As the sb was issued months after my vehicle and transmission were built, the failed part is likely in my 2022 vehicles as well.
There is a loud grinding/ squealing noise whenever I press the break pedal. I went to have it check at big o tires and the guy checked my breaks and tires and said they were at 100 percent however the sound is coming from a defeat somewhere with the break pedal and the stopping mechanism. He added grease to it to see if it would help but it has not. Also the steering wheel recall that they just did has not fixed the steering wheel from sticking while driving and I am wondering if it is all connected to the issues I am having. I honestly feel like I have a been sold a defective vehicle as my door actuator stopped working as well as the blower motor for my ac works intermittently and we just don’t feel safe driving this car anymore when we purchased it brand new not even 2 years ago but they have told me it is no longer under warranty.
8/31/2024 the power steering column locked up while driving down hwy 85n causing an incident that caused the car to become a total loss. A police report was generated where ii stated the power steering column locked which caused the incident, I informed my insurance company immediately and throughout the dealings with my insurance company and Honda collision center I kept stating the steering column locking as the issue. I even reached out to Honda automobile customer spoke to danielle and casey at 1-888-234-2138 on 10/4/2024 at 3:36 pm in which I was advised of the recall inspect eps part 23089. Honda collision center advisor drove the car around the parking lot and made an assumption it was not the power steering column. I have since 8/31/2024 have been looking for an attorney to sue Honda and now I have the recall letter sent by Honda I hopefully will be able to retain one.
I purchased a 2022 Civic lx in 2022, it now has 75k miles. After 50k or so I started to notice the steering wheel almost start to "stick" & make a popping/clicking noise (different than that of a cv axle) after long highway commutes, for example. . . Im going 30mph on the street & I start to make a turn and I will almost have to kind of force &/or unstick the wheel to align it. I've seen numerous reports on this issue & its quite scary.
•"break system" light appeared while driving and is available for inspection. •my risk was high due to the fact of "brake system" and "see your dealer" message. •Honda dealership confirmed of a gearbox issue and recommended not to drive it due to the fact that the steering wheel can lock at anytime during driving. •I noticed my steering wheel was very sensative and starting hearing a clicking noise during driving.
Having some scary issues with my power steering as if my wheel wants to lock up and sometimes depending on the speed limit even driving slowly I have problems steering and you can hear a weird erring sound when my wheel is turning because of whatever this issue is and its only getting worse.
