1 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 03/15/2026

While driving, the steering wheel suddenly became stiff and difficult to turn, making it hard to control the vehicle. This happened unexpectedly and created a serious safety risk, as I could have lost control and caused an accident. At the same time, the braking response did not feel normal, which made the situation even more dangerous. This issue has occurred despite previous repair attempts, and the problem remains unresolved. I am very concerned about the safety of this vehicle and the risk it poses to myself and others on the road. No warning lights appeared before the issue happened.

2 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 02/06/2026

The contact owned a 2025 Honda civic. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed into a parking spot, the brake pedal was depressed and went to the floorboard. The vehicle failed to come to a stop. The vehicle drove over a parking median in front and struck a tree. The contact then attempted to steer the vehicle to the left, but crashed into another vehicle on the passenger side. The vehicle flipped onto its driver's side, where it came to a stop. The message "brake" was then displayed. The air bags deployed, shattering the front driver's side window. Onstar came on the speakers and informed the contact that help was on the way. The emt arrived, and the contact was able to exit the vehicle through the sunroof. The contact sustained injuries to her left shoulder and arm, as well as a sore neck and stomach. Medical attention was received. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard, but had not yet been deemed totaled by the insurance company. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 8,000.

3 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 02/06/2026

I was turning into a parking space in my 2025 Honda Civic hybrid touring, in a plaza area. As I depressed the brake, I felt some pressure, but then all of a sudden it went straight to the ground, which caused my car to go over a landscape median, and hit the tree in the middle of it, causing my car to hit a stationary vehicle on the other side to the right, which in-turn caused my car to flip on it's drivers side. All of the airbags deployed and my driver's window was broken. My arm was injured and scraped but not broken. As I was waiting for the emts while sitting there, I noticed a warning circle with bright red bold letters that said brake in the middle. My only thought was to shut the car off immediately. The manufacturer and insurance have given me a runaround regarding having someone to investigate/inspect the brake system, no success so far. I have a few days left for the insurance to hold it, being that it's been deemed a total loss. The chp report is still not out. Hopefully the insurance will give me an extension for the hold. I had reported this by phone to NHTSA on 2/13/2026 and they did give me a claim number, but I don't see anywhere where I can add the claim number.

4 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 01/06/2026

“collision mitigation system problem see dealer” warning! once at unknown mileage around 6,000 and once at around 10,000 miles. Random vehicle braking around 6-8 times in 12,000 miles with no reason. Braking happens while in cruise control. Both times that the warning messages appeared it was along with warnings for adaptive cruise control, automatic braking, lane departure, lane keep assisting. Many warnings all flashed consecutively with the final warning about collision mitigation system problem see dealer.

5 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 05/20/2025

On 5/20/25 while pulling out of my house's driveway I saw a warning on my dashboard that the brakes were malfunctioning, that it was unsafe to continue driving, and to stop as soon as possible. The brakes were soft and I could feel and hear a grinding noise when I stepped on the brake. I returned the car to the driveway. The vehicle was towed the same day to the dealer for service. The car was repaired on 5/23/25. The repair invoice states: "electric brake control internal circuit malfunction. . . Brake hold simulator not pluging. . . Replaced simulator set (part#:01469-t61-a02). Car was tested after repairs. " (purchased on 4/4/25. ).

6 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 03/14/2025

The floor of backseat is extremely wet, despite all windows and doors completely shut at all times. When I accelerate and brake hear a slushing sound and braking to slow down causes my car to rattle and shake slightly.

7 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 11/30/2024

Unusual behavior with the "driver assistance system", specifically cmbs (collision mitigation braking system) and rdms (road departure mitigation system) warning messages appear too frequently. The first time this error appeared was when driving home from the lot after purchasing the vehicle (bought at 56 miles). After the first appearance I've seen this error appear ~60% of the time when driving or idle (these errors stay on then disappear within ~3 seconds of it appearing). My vehicle was inspected by the purchase dealer's service personnel, but they claim that there is no error logs recorded on the car's s and they could not replicate the error. At their direction I have since brought back the vehicle to monitor for the errors again so I can bring it back to the dealer for them to try to replicate this error again. . . I am aware of the cmbs issue with Honda vehicles up to 2022. I am very sad and surprised that the 2025 vehicles also have this issue. I have not yet randomly braked on the freeway (thank god) but I am fearful that my vehicle is next because Honda says they cannot find an issue currently. After noticing the frequent appearance of the warnings, I began documenting the warnings to the best of my ability with photos. To be safe I am unable to document the photo while driving so I am only able to take the pictures on the occasion when I am in the passenger seat when my wife is driving. I have attached two instances of when these errors pop up, one instance at 192 miles parked, and one instance later driving at 35 mph at 196 miles. Unfortunately, due to my misplaced faith in Honda, I was unable to document the previous warnings, but I will try my best to safely document all future ones. Please NHTSA, investigate further into this and pressure Honda to fix these vehicles. There will be more accidents and deaths if they are not held accountable. I am stuck with the vehicle, unable to purchase another one. I hope we Honda owners will be safe.

8 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 10/10/2024

I was stopped at a stoplight and the car ahead of me moved up slightly so I took my foot off the brake. I did not accelerate by pressing the gas pedal and I was going approximately 1-2 mph. Car in front of me slammed on their brakes and I tried to depress my brake and the brake alert signal inside the car started flashing, but it was a delayed reaction and the air bags in the steering wheel and below my feet by my legs deployed as I braked. There was no damage to the other car and a bumper gap occurred on my car and the air bags deployed and seatbelts locked in my vehicle. I barely touched the other car. Air bags malfunctioned by deploying at no real impact, air bag cut my hand, seatbelts were all replaced in vehicle, air bags replaced, bumper replaced, air bag sensor replaced.

9 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 09/30/2024

The vehicle has experienced ongoing steering-related noise and vibration during driving since early ownership. The issue is noticeable at various speeds and road conditions and affects confidence in steering control and overall vehicle stability. The vehicle has been inspected and serviced multiple times at an authorized dealership, but the condition has not been resolved. During prior service visits, the condition was characterized as unlikely to recur; however, the same issue continued to reappear after service. Following the most recent service visit, the vehicle also began exhibiting brake-related issues, including abnormal noise and behavior during braking. These combined steering, braking, and stability issues affect vehicle control and create a safety concern while driving. The vehicle remains available for inspection upon request.
