While pulling into a parking spot in a parking garage where I am working a temp for 2mo. My car wouldn't stop and seem to be racing ,into the brick wall (no way to stop), I called Honda dealer that worked on my car 2 weeks prior, and they put on machine and drove it and tested they say, and couldn't find any problems they even called Honda dealer. Something is not right . I have neck and upper thoracic pain. It was a night mare. Please help us . American Honda!! front end damage. Bumper got repaired 1month ago from a truck running a red light .
Driver was coming down a hill and around a curve and pressed the brakes to slow down and there was absolutely no response from the brakes. The driver was forced to pull the hand brake on the car - causing the car to swerve into the oncoming lane. The car was then hit by an oncoming car. The car was completely totaled and the driver suffered multiple injuries.
Due to poor performance after a recent Honda ima hybrid battery software update, the electronic battery had turned itself off in order to extend its life. When the battery turned off, the primary electronic brakes were also turned off. When an accident happened on the opposing direction of traffic, it sent debris across the freeway barrier into my lane. I attempted to decrease my speed in order to maneuver around the debris, but I did not have sufficient braking power. If the brakes were not disabled in order to extend the battery life and decrease Honda of America's financial responsibility to replace batteries under warranty, I would not have ran over the debris that almost sent me straight into the median wall. I had seen the accident with plenty of time to slow down and I would have made it safely around the debris if I had proper working brakes. The brakes remain intermittent sometimes working as they should, other times not at all as stated above.
Xi have owned a 2006 Civic Hybrid for the past year and a half. On several occasions I have noticed that a light application of the brake pedal can result in a sudden acceleration} rather than in braking. This happens intermittently, I would say approximately once a month. It seems like a malfunction in the computer system running the braking system. On one occasion last April this resulted in a minor accident. At the time I had only owned the car for a short interval and was surprised at this strange reaction of the car. Since that time this problem has recurred several times. I would like to ask if you have had other reports of this problem and whether you know about it. Since it is an intermittent effect it is no use taking the car to the dealership.
