The contact owns a 2013 Honda civic. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle hesitated to start, and multiple warning lights illuminated, including the check engine warning light. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with trouble code p1437. The contact was informed that the motor power inverter had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired, and the contact was referred to the dealer for further assistance. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer, where the same diagnostic results were confirmed. The dealer informed the contact that the motor power inverter had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for further assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
