Tire Tread/belt problems of the 1997 Honda CR-V

Three problems related to tire tread/belt have been reported for the 1997 Honda CR-V. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Tire Tread/belt problem

Failure Date: 06/29/2001

The spare tire included with the new vehicle was mounted and used on approximately 6/20/01. On 6/29/01 the tire tread became separated from the rest of the tire while the vehicle was in motion. The tread separation caused vehicle body damage. Tire was submitted to manufacturer for adjustment. A paralegal for the manufacturer stated 'sorry' and declared that an 'impact break' was responsible for tread separation and I was denied compensation for the tire replacement and vehicle damage. 2 Tire Tread/belt problem

Failure Date: 02/10/2000

The bridgestone dueler ht 684 205/70r15 tire experienced tread separation.

3 Tire Tread/belt problem

Failure Date: 12/28/1998

Left rear tire experienced a blowout/tread separation while traveling at highway speed of 70 mph. Driver & 3 passengers in a 1997 Honda, crv, original equipment, p205/70r15, dot# emytcaf277. No injury reported. The customer did not feel safe with bridgestone h/t tires and purchased new ones.
