general problems of the 1998 Honda CR-V

Two problems related to suspension have been reported for the 1998 Honda CR-V. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 11/28/2006

: the contact stated when the vehicle was taken to an independent certified mechanic for the regular service brakes, the front of the vehicle was lifted up and the mechanic noticed the suspension dropped down. The contact was alerted by the mechanic because of the seriousness of the defect, and referred the contact to a dealership technician. The dealership informed there was no recall for the defect. The manufacturer was contacted, who referred the contact to the service manager. When the service manager was notified, an estimate from a body shop was requested. The body shop refused to provide an estimate because this was a structural matter which was not performed at a body shop. The dealership recommended not driving the vehicle on highways or off the road. The independent certified mechanic was going to provide an estimate but the service manager discouraged the contact because the repairs would not be covered by the dealership.

2 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 10/03/1998

While driving vehicle continued to pull to the right at any giving spee. ; vehicle been in / out of dealer shop on three occasions, problem still occurring.
