One problem related to hatchback/liftgate lock has been reported for the 1999 Honda CR-V. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The back door latch is no good. It no longer works to open and shut door. I have had another Honda crv owner approach me to tell me that hers is the same way. The door becomes inoperable because this door latch rots.
