I was driving on the freeway approximately 65 miles per hour on 9/7/00 2:25pm (approx). Blow out occurred, took control of the car while traveling a busy freeway. I managed to pull off the road without hitting any other car. I got off the car, noticed that the tire was completely off the rim, tire was half a mile (approx) away. Called roadside assitance, tire was changed. Photos were taken of the damage to the car and remaining portion of the tire on the rim. I was told (by a firestone manager) to retrieve the tire on the freeway, which I have in my possesion, to determine the cause. I have not been able to do that since I work. I did not drive the crv today, I drove my other car. I had maintenance performed on my car on 9/5/00 and no tire problems were reported. Have there been any other similar incidences of this type of blowout to this tire. What can be and/or what should be done in this case? I am experiencing soreness /aches in my neck and back.
