I own a 2002 Honda Cr-v. The gas tank cap has caused my check engine light to come on several times in the past. Each time, I buy a new gas cap and the error goes away. I am on my 3rd gas cap and I'm getting a check engine light again. I will call Honda to report this issue and to request a real "fix" to the problem. As stated by others, the check engine light is a warning to drivers. It's importance is watered down by spurious errors like this. Honda needs to address this.
