Failure Date: 02/17/2011

The contact owns a 2004 Honda crv. The contact was reversing 3 mph when the vehicle suddenly accelerated forward and crashed into a brick wall. The air bags then deployed and the contact sustained a concussion and injuries to the knee. The contact was transported to the hospital via ambulance. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the contacts place of residence and being handled through her insurance company. The manufacturer advised that they would send a representative to inspect the failure of the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 63,326.

2 Car Accelerates On Its Own problem

Failure Date: 03/10/2010

Problem: sudden acceleration due to defective throttle body. The idle rpms are excessive upon startup and lead to sudden acceleration during braking to a stop. Background: malfunction lamp light was constantly turning on and off. Took the car to a Honda dealership and they only found the error code for the O2 sensor. Later took it to a local mechanic to fix the O2 sensor and they found a defective throttle body (error code p0122). There are several forums which address this exact issue on 2002-2004 Honda crv.
