Front passenger door door fails to unlock by the manual mechanism. Egress of vehicle is not possible.
In December 2017 the power door lock actuators failed on the front passenger and tailgate, so the doors could not be opened, even manually. I had to crawl across the center console to exit the car. This could be very dangerous if it happened during an emergency situation. We were parked in a parking lot at the time. A recall had been ordered after a class action suit was filed in 2015, but only the driver's side door was included. That was replaced and the warranty was extended for the other doors for only 6 months from the date of the settlement. I was responsible for the cost of replacing two actuators that were obviously factory defects. Honda refuses to reimburse me or replace the actuators on the other two doors that will someday have the same problem. I was told by them that would only pay if ordered to do so by a court.
For a couple years, my back passenger side door has had a lock issue. In order to open the door, I must hit the "unlock" button at the exact moment someone goes to open the door - otherwise the lock slides back to locked position within seconds. Yesterday, my back driver side door locked itself, and I am unable to unlock it in any way, including manually. The lock is jammed and the door will not open. About an hour after noticing this issue, I tried to open my back hatch, and it too is permanently locked shut. I did some research and found that there was a 2014 class action lawsuit about these issues, which I was not informed of. I received no notification in the mail about this. The claim period has since ended, despite this being an ongoing and widespread defect, and Honda refuses to cover the costs to fix this issue. Furthermore, this presents a safety issue, as a passenger could be locked in the car at any time - including an emergency situation in which the car may be on fire. I have even found on a forum a story of a woman whose entire car permanently locked itself with a child inside.
Doors keep trying to lock every time car reaches 8mph or whatever the standard is. The doors remained lock but they keep trying to lock again. Reset to lock when car goes out of park. Now one door unlocks itself. I lock all doors and then check the rear left door and it is unlocked. I then have to manual lock it. I've already replaced the actuator on the driver side front door twice.
The driver side power locks are locking all doors automatically and immediately after I unlock it via the key fob or the unlock/lock switch inside the vehicle. It can not be unlocked manually because it is very resistant to moving. I have been told this is an actuator failure and is common in 2007 Honda crv.
The rear passenger door automatically unlocks after main lock button is pushed on interior of driver's door as well as on the key fob. All other locks can easily lock/unlock manually except this door. It seems to be stuck until the button on driver's side door is pushed to lock. But almost instantly, it will unlock again. Anytime the car is driven past 9mph, the car keeps trying to lock all the doors making an annoying noise.
My 2007 Honda Cr-v, passenger door locks itself immediately after unlock by the main lock/unlock switch, key fob or the manual tab in the door. We have to be very precise in unlocking and pulling the door at the same time. Even a second delay could bring the boor back in to unlock position. This can be very dangerous in case of fire or accident as the passenger can not unlock and escape from the vehicle. Please look in to it. Thanks.
The front passenger door lock began opening when the car was operating. As I understand it, the proper operation of the the car's crash safety equipment requires the doors to remain locked during operation. Further, it is impossible to lock this door, even manually. I also discovered that the car cannot be locked when stopped. I have not yet taken the car to the dealer for repairs.
Door locks automatically lock all four doors. As soon as you unlock them, they lock again. You can not use the manual unlock because it seems frozen and can only unlock the car using the key fob and then they lock again right away. This is a serious hazard for obvious reasons and Honda needs to take responsibility for this and make it part of a national recall. Online forums are loaded with Honda owners experiencing the same and/or similar problems. A class action suit was filed early 2013 regarding this specific issue. Results, if any, are not known.
Since you don't have the right choice to choose from. . . . Our crv . . . Grandson closed the drivers door with the keys in car and it locked. . Tried to unlock door with spare keys and it wouldn't work. . Not manually or with the push buttons on keys. . . . Dropped my granddaughter off for swim class and unlocked the door with button inside car and it locked again before I could open door. . Tried numerous times and car would not stay unlocked. . Finally, had to use one hand to unlock door and the other hand on handle to open it before it locked again. . . If we were in an accident, how would I be able to get myself and or grandkids out of the car fast enough to save them????? Honda, I found out has known about this since 2007 and continues to look the other way. . . Something needs to be done before someone gets killed. . . Not like what gm did. . . Lets get this fixed and right before something bad happens to americans !!!!!!.
Unable to unlock the driver door after parking car. Tried using unlock button on door panel, unlock button on key and tried manually using key in driver door lock. Unable to open driver side door at all. Climbed over to passenger side to exit car. Unable to open tailgate automatically or manually as well.
Door lock problem: driver's side rear door intermittently does not lock. This occurs when key fob is used, when power door lock button is used, and when door is locked manually. Additionally, while driving, intermittently the door locks and unlocks within seconds of itself. Honda dealer replaced actuator as a non-warranty repair.
Front driver door is locked and can't open from inside using remote or manually. Climbed over to the passenger door and tried to open the driver door from outside also unable to do so. I brought the car the the dealer who informed me that this was caused by a faulty door lock actuator defect. The defect poses a safety risk since the door locking and unlocking features fail to operate correctly. Upon research on the internet, many crv owners experience the same problem for crv 2007-2010. Honda is aware of this problem and have neither recall or cover it under warranty.
The crv locks the doors and tailgate automatically when the vehicle reaches a certain speed. Our crv locked itself according to this protocol. We then parked the car, turned off the ignition and tried to exit the car. The front passenger door would not unlock, and there was no way to manually override this problem. We exited via the driver's side and then discovered that the tailgate was also jammed in the locked position. We have taken the car to the dealer who sold it, and he has told us that there is no way to override the locking mechanism once it has jammed in the locked position. Repair will cost hundreds of dollars because the passenger front door has to be dis-assembled from the inside. The absence of a manual override is a serious safety issue. We could have been locked in the car with no way to get out!! thankfully only two of the five locks failed!!!!.
While driving my car, I noticed that the door locks started unlocking on and off with every acceleration increase of 10-15 mph (major safety issue for occupants). In addition, the passenger side door will not lock with the electronic key or by manual push. Worse, the door lock problem led to my car being vulnerable to unlawful entry, and sure enough, my car was ransacked (items stolen) this week after I thought all my "dependable Honda" doors were locked. After researching, I am disgusted to see that many Honda Cr-v (2007 model) drivers are experiencing exact or similar problems with the doors (un)locking. It is unbelievable that this safety issue hasn't been recalled yet. Very unhappy!!!.
When I use keyless entry or key entry, I have about 3 seconds before all locks in the vehicle lock back up. When I get out of the car, this also happens. This happens everytime I get in my car or get out of my car. I tried re-programming the keyless entry and this did not work. I have had my keys locked in my car and had to call a towing company to come unlock the car for me. Finally after months and months of this happening, I got into my car on 08/14/2013 using the keyless entry and once my locks locked up and I tried to start my car, the entire car shut down (lights, locks, horn, ignition, car engine. ) I had to use the manual restart located on my dash board to get the car to start back up. This all seems like a safety hazard.
In December, my rear passenger side door would not unlock. I tried to manually unlock the door and the lock would not budge. My baby was in his rear-facing carseat on the rear passenger side of the car so I had to open the rear driver side door to get my baby out through that door. The problem has continued to escalate to the point that as of today (06/11/13), the rear passenger side door will no longer lock and the front passenger side door will only remain unlocked for a few seconds before moving itself back to the locked position. I have an appointment with my local Honda dealer tomorrow to fix the problem at my expense. This is a safety issue and based upon the number of complaints I have found on the internet, Honda should be forced to issue a recall. I have three children and I fear that if there is an accident and we need to evacuate the vehicle, the door locks may fail all together and we may not be able to safely exit the vehicle.
I was at the cabin finishing up some chores. Went to put some tools in the back seat of the Honda crv and the door would not open. The same thing happened to the back hatch. The door could not be opened with out great difficulty from the inside and not at all from the outside. The hatch could be opened also only from the inside after crawling over the seats and only after removing the latch panel and manually flipping the latch. After I got home I researched the problem and the internet is full of such problems. I understand that some models of crv 2006 and older had a recall. Of course mine is a 2007. Problems with the latch and actuator are a significant safety issue as if there was an accident or fire both of these egresses out of the vehicle would not be available either by the occupants or rescue personel. The cost to get this repaired is significant leaving the potental for the problem not to be fixed immediatly.
The front right passenger door and the hatch door were locked shut. I could not open either door with the remote or manually. I was concerned this could be dangerous for the passenger if we were ever involved in an accident and needed to get out of the car immediately. I did have both doors repaired. Then a few months later the rear door started making a grinding noise whenever the doors locked or unlocked. Then the drivers door would open and close all the doors at random times. I was concerned the doors would lock me out one day. I do make frequent car trips to see my family in another city and I did not want to get locked out while on route in the middle of nowhere. I have since had those two doors repaired for another few hundred dollars. This is a safety issue for anyone who might be in an accident and the doors will not open. I feel Honda should take responsibility for this defect in the crv's before someone does get seriously hurt or worse.
The mechanics of the door locks have become progressively worse beginning first with the front passenger door and then spreading to the right side rear passenger door, driver door, and rear hatch. All of the doors randomly lock and unlock and make a loud rattling sound while doing so. The right side rear door no longer unlocks from the outside. The rear hatch only opens 5% of the time we attempt to open it (which is a nightmare when it is full of luggage or groceries). The doors will not unlock manually with a key. . . Only the fob key. I have seen numerous complaints online addressing this problem and am shocked that it has not been addressed by Honda. It is a major safety hazard.
I have had to replace 4 out of 5 of the door locks. The first door lock to stick was the front lock on the passengers side door. It stuck tight and would not open with the remote or manually. The lock was stuck shut and we were unable to open the door. If we had gotten in an accident and needed to get out quickly, my passenger would not have been able to open the door to exit the vehicle. Which makes it a very dangerous situation. One by one, all three locks either locked up or started making the noise proceeding the lock up issue. I took it to Honda and explained the problem, but since my warranty had expired, they refused to pay for the expensive repair. I felt like the issue was so dangerous, as I have 2 daughters who ride in the car daily, that I paid to have them fixed. Now the front driverside door and back door is making the same noise again and the process is beginning again. I am at the point where I may have to trade the car in for a new car to escape this problem! I will not buy another Honda!.
