The contact owns a 2008 Honda Cr-v. The contact stated that while driving 62 mph, a popping noise was heard and the steering wheel became uncontrollable. The driver was able to pull to the shoulder and stop the vehicle and noticed the steering wheel was positioned at an angle and the vehicle could no longer be safely driven. The vehicle was later towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the front control arm had fractured due to severe corrosion. The vehicle was not yet repaired. 2 Front Suspension Control Arm problem

Failure Date: 12/18/2019

2008 Cr-v subframe/rear control arm rusted so severely came apart while driving. Very fortunate there was not an accident, this caused sudden loss of control of vehicle. Had to be towed and is now inoperable and unable to be repaired. There is a recall in canada to address this condition, why not the united states? we contacted Honda customer service to inquire and no response from them. This is a very dangerous condition that gave no warning. The body is not rusted.
