On June 23, 2017, at about 8:10 a. M. , I turned in to a dry cleaners store at 5702 everhard road, corpus christi, texas. As I was slowly turning into a parking space and applying my brakes, my 2008 Honda dr-v accelerated on it's own, at a speed so fast I could not stop it, even though I was applying the brakes as hard as I could. The Cr-v traveled about 20-25 feet and hit a pillar of the building head on. The Cr-v hit the pillar with such force that it rebounded back approximately 5 feet from the point of impact. The front of the car was crushed in and the driver's air bag inflated. The sudden, unexplained acceleration of the Cr-v on it's own caused the damage to the front end of the car. My foot was on the brakes the entire time and the Cr-v would not stop.
The contact owned a 2008 Honda Cr-v. While driving out of the parking lot at approximately 2 mph, the vehicle accelerated out of the driver's control and crashed into a light pole. The driver's side air bag deployed. A police report was filed. There were no injuries. The vehicle was destroyed and towed to a tow yard. The failure mileage was 66,398.
I had just made a sharp turn in the parking garage to pull into my parking spot. The car accelerated from essentially a dead stop. My crv accelerated, jumped a parking divider and struck a concrete pole that holds up the roof of the parking garage. I was standing on the brakes and it would not stop. You could smell the burning in the car. The airbags did not deploy. I struck the l front bumper, blew the drivers tire, crumpled in the fender and did internal engine damage. The car had to be towed. I was seen and treated at an urgent clinic that night for back pain. A city police report was not filed since it occurred on hospital property but it was filed with hospital police. The damage was repaired at a professional body shop. They were unable to reproduce the acceleration. Said "it must just be a glitch. . . . . ".
On the way down the hill of north main st. Ext wallingford - suburu outback (CT license plate becky-d) passed in the on-coming lane - speeding to pass my car which was doing speed limit of 25 mph. I just want to report this - a dangerous move which could have been a big accident if there was an oncoming car.
This problem has occurred twice. The first time the engine speed increased with the brakes being applied. I checked for an obstruction of a floor mat and there was no obstruction. The most recent time was yesterday (oct. 17, 2013) and again the car accelerated with my foot on the brake. This could cause an accident. I will visit Honda and advise the service manager.

There is a problem with the locks. Simply all doors are locking and unlocking by itself while in motion. Additionally right rear door cant ever be locked leaving all valuable unprotected at all times. When pressing lock button on the remote all doors lock except the right rear which locks and quickly unlocks by itself. This is really annoying and unacceptable since cant be sure anymore if car is locked or not without checking all the doors. This simply leaves my Honda open to anybody. Having said that after owning 6 Hondas I am starting to notice different brands more and more since nothing really ever gets recalled after so many complains from many other individuals. Fixing such problems is very expensive as well.
I was slowly approaching the store front to the establishment that I was going to enter. I braked and the automobile began to accelerate and would not stop until the it climbed the curb and drove into the stores front door. This caused quite a bit of damage to the store and I was injured and transported to the hospital. I was examined and test and x-rays were taken indicating that I had fractured my sternum. The air bags never deployed. . . Updated 11/07/12.
When backing out of an unpaved parking area I hit a large ponderosa pine tree with the rear bumper. The bumper absorbed the impact with a small scratch to the bumper cover. Upon impact, the car was no longer in my control for it lurched forward about 40 feet into the parking space I had left and hit another large tree with the center of the car. The car accelerated forward so quickly I do not recall when the airbag deployed. Immediately after the collision all four wheels continued spinning and dug small depressions in the dirt until the engine stopped. I had no control over the vehicle after backing into the tree. I suffered bruised ribs and a severe burn to my hand from the airbag. A sheriff assessed the accident and called an ambulance to assess my condition and I did not require hospitalization. There was significant damage (estimated $11,000) to the front of the car. This was my first accident and I'm concerned that my Honda Cr-v is unsafe for the above reason.
I was pulling into parking space in garage with my 2008 Honda crv. Put brake on and heard loud revving sound of engine (like when a car peels out from a stop light). The brake did nothing and the car surged forward with the revving right into the concrete wall of the garage. It hit so hard it made my glasses fly off my face. It bounced off the concrete wall about 3-4 feet and stopped. My foot was on the brake the whole time. After the car stopped, there was a really bad smell of something burning. My airbag did not deploy, but the car impacted a little to the right of center. Fortunately, I had my seat belt on. The shoulder strap jammed from the impact and could not be loosened. After I turned the engine off, the dashboard lights remained on and the bad smell intensified. The car had to be towed, I was told it "was not driveable" by the Honda dealer where it was towed. The dealer wouldn't even look at the car or go smell the odor as "it was not driveable and needed to have the body work done first. " I was told they would smell for the odor after the body was fixed.
2008 Honda Cr-v with serious safety issues. Consumer states that the vehicle accelerated violently while trying to park causing the driver to hit 2 parked cars and level a parking meter. Consumer would like action taken.
After parking car and while braking to put it in "park" gear, the crv ex-l raced forward at high speed and veered to the right. Upon impact, the vehicle then went in reverse and when braking, the car races instead of stopping. Upon hitting the back curb and a vehicle, the car was thrust forward and raced forward. Crv ex-l would not respond to braking. Updated 04/25/08.
