Diver side visor malfunctioned and does not stay in upright position thereby impeding vision.
The tips of the windshield washer fluid dispenser freezes in really cold temperatures and didn't unfreeze until the temperature got to 44 degrees. So we drove over one hour in the snow with no windshield washer fluid and couldn't see out the front windshield with all the dirty snow and mud smearing on the windshield. We put fresh water on the windshield but that kept it clean for about one mile only. This was driving on hwy. 80 in the sierra's. It was very scary and dangerous.
Approx 6 months ago a crack started in the front windshield on the passenger side. It started from the top rubber gasket & was in alignment with the window visor holder. There were no visible signs of damage on the outside of the car. We had the window replaced by safelight window repair company. Now we have a crack starting on the drivers side front windshield & running down from the top rubber gasket & also in direct alignment with the visor holder. A considerable amount of pressure must be applied to seat the visor back into the holder. Both cracks happened during highway travel with no obvious signs of damage by a rock, etc. Both times the visors had been turned to the side window to block the sun.
Washer pump not operating and no fluid for windshield would come out. This had to be replaced twice and I was charged both times.
Car was parked. We were in and out of the vehicle, heard a pop. Looked and the sunroof was deformed outward/severe curvature in the sunroof. Looked inside from underneath and sun roof was shattered. Naturally when driving back at highway speeds it continued to break away until we could duct tape it and drive 400 miles home. Dealership tried to blame 'a rock' I called b. S. On that. Given we own three Honda's they fixed it on warranty.
The contact owns a 2008 Honda Cr-v. The contact stated that fluid was not coming through the hose for the windshield wipers. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who stated that the failure was due to the attachment to the body of the engine that had snapped due to a collision. The dealer replaced the entire windshield wiper unit at the expense of the contact. The contact called the manufacturer who offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 24,000.
Windshield wipers do not clear the windshield in cold/snowy conditions. Windshield wipers rest below the heated area of the windshield which allows them to become frozen and unable to contour to the windshield. Edges of the car are taller than the windshield which traps ice on the side edges as well and also damages the wiper blades, preventing them from working. Issue has been present since purchasing vehicle. Dealer unable to fix problem. The issue causes visibility problems at a time when visibility is already bad (snow storm), the addition of a failure of the wipers to clear the window adds to the road hazard. Would like to know if sae j903a covers cold weather testing and if Honda submitted paperwork to show that the wiper system meets the specification.
