1 Equipment problem

Honda issued a safety recall for rear frame corrosion; we learned of the recall in Apr 2023 & took the car to vidmar Honda (pueblo, CO) in jun2023. They didn't have the equipment to conduct the inspection, said they would order it & notify us when it arrived; I followed up in Aug & sept and they hadn't ordered the equipment. On oct 10 I brought the car in to have the tpms repaired & they informed me there was a safety recall. Later vidmar informed me the car was too rusty to make the safety repair, but they repaired the tpms (that is fraud). I pointed out that the Honda recall notice said the dealer would offer to repurchase the vehicle if the car could not be repaired, but vidmar denied that was how the recall worked (Honda misrepresented the recall process to its customers). We were not informed that the car was unsafe to drive & we were permitted to take the car, being told that the issue was now with american Honda. I received a voicemail from Honda on oct 12 telling me of our recall case number; I returned the call 9 times but had no further calls from Honda. On Nov 29 the frame failed & the right rear tire nearly separately from the frame; the vehicle was towed to a Honda dealer in colorado springs & I informed both vidmar Honda & american Honda that day of the structural failure. On Jan 12, 2024, Honda called & offered to repurchase the car (the caller was not aware that the vehicle had failed & was off the road); afterwards I received an email from Honda informing us for the first time that our vehicle was unsafe & should not be driven - 45 days after the structural failure, 84 days after the repair could not be made, and 7 months after we first tried to have the vehicle repaired. To date Honda has not made an offer in writing to repurchase the car; the gm of vidmar showed us pictures of the car in Dec from oct10 & said, "that's not good when you can see light coming from the other side [of the frame] " and "that's real swiss cheese there. ".

I took my 2009 Honda crv in for a recall. In salt belt states where DE-icing agents are used to maintain the roadway, the DE-icing agents, along with mud and dirt, could enter the rear frame through the rear frame drainage points. This could cause the rear trailing arm to come off. The dealership ended up attaching a bracket that is supposed to keep me safe. My problem is that the bracket is attached to a highly corroded area of my vehicle (as shown in the attached pictures) when I brought this up they only stated that as long as the one bolt was able to be replaced then that is all they are required to do. I feel that the bracket should at least be attached to solid metal. Also, now I have to have the bracket removed again so I can get the frame repaired (even though the recall specifically says the corrosion was caused by a design flaw that allows salt and dirt to get into the inner frame through rear frame drainage points). I feel that there should be more criteria to this recall than just one bolt because they are sending cars back on the road that are still unsafe.

Went to dealership on 8/10/23 to get a recall fixed. The recall is for the rear frame brace corrosion due to deicing agents. The dealership said that that my car failed the test and declared the car unsafe and do not drive. No warning lights or symptoms. My safety was put at risk due to the fact the rear arm frame brace could’ve snapped while driving causing a potentially fatal accident.

On June 8th 2023 I brought my car into a Honda service center to be inspected per safety recall 23v-228. After inspection I was told that the rear frame was severely rusted out but that the shop could not do anything about it. I was given my vehicle back and told it was safe to drive and that Honda of America would be reaching out to me in a few days. Approximately 2 weeks passed with no word from Honda and the rear trailing arm fell off my car while driving home from work. This is exactly what the recall was supposed to prevent from happening. This was confirmed when the car was subsequently towed back into the shop. Now, Honda of America has been working on a repurchase offer that was supposed to take 2 weeks and it has since been nearly two months with no additional information. According to the recall, Honda was supposed to remedy this situation within 60 days of the car being brought in for initial inspection. As of today it has been 77 days. Honda refuses to answer any of my emails or pick up the phone with repeated attempts.

Received recall notice to have vehicle repaired. Scheduled vehicle with local dealer for repair. Took vehicle to dealer on 6/14/2023 for recall repair. Dealer informed me during visit, they had to send a picture/video of what they encountered to american Honda and wait for them to decide how to repair. A little while later during same visit, dealer informed me american Honda instructed them not to repair and tell me to go home and park the car and american Honda will call me. American Honda has not called me and the vehicle not repaired of the recall. I must drive the vehicle for my work. I would like them to fix, replace my vehicle and immediately if they think it is a safety concern.

Upon repair, at the authorized dealer, for the rear trailing arm recall in may 2023, the service advisor noted that antifreeze/ coolant was leaking from a corroded/ rusty heater pipe deep inside the engine compartment. Although they quoted a repair price and a separate coolant flush fee, the part is not currently available from Honda. This heater pipe is backordered and thus unavailable for repair as quoted. Since this antifreeze leak makes this vehicle undriveable, I was forced to research then search for this part availability and buy it myself as an aftermarket non oem part. It seems that this rust issue related to the rear trailing arm is not the only rust concern on these 2007-2011 Honda Cr-vs.

The rear wheel on the left driver side detached from the frame while driving on the hwy and lost control. Luckily I could pull off and drive into the ditch. The frame is rusted enough that auto shop says that the repairs aren't worth it because the entire back frame is rusted and will just happen on the other side. No sounds beforehand to indicate their would be a malfunction. The control arm was detached from the rusting but other components broke from the frame rusting and wheel coming loose on the hwy. It will be inspected further.

The front passenger side doir actuator and the rear have not worked properly gir at least 8 years, and I was never notified of the class action lawsuit. Additionally, in July of 2014 when I took the car for the first airbag recall in levittown, NY, the car was brought in with cold sir conditioning and returned with non working air conditioning. I am the sole owner of this car and it has been meticulously cared for and driven. I see that many others had also not been notified of the actuator problem. I am afraid to let Honda touch the car again after they broke the air conditioner while fixing the last recall.

The passenger door won't open & the trunk won't open, like it's jammed. There is no key entry for the passenger or trunk. I feel this has the potential to be very dangerous.

The problem is with the front driver side door. The locking mechanism is not working properly. The automatic door latch, which is activated after driving about 20 feet. It creates the horn to honk and some problems with opening the door with key fob. Must open manually by inserting key into the door from the outside.

Door aculator is not working on front driver's door properly. The door will not lock with or without a key. The lock jumps on and off while parked and trying to lock the doors. While driving and the brakes are applied, the locks make a noise and jump on and off.

When I'm driving my Honda Cr-v 2009 at around 25 to 30 miles per hour I get a throbbing noise as if it were the transmission. I took it everywhere to see what's going on and no one could tell me whats going on. I bought this car brand new in 2009 two years latter they had to change my transmission in 2011 because of a similar problem. Please I need help to stop this throbbing I'm scared to drive the car. Because I feel I'm going to get into an accident when this happens. This happens everyday in the highway and regular streets. I don't know what to do this is my only vehicle.

I'm a retired auto body tech try to get help for a lady, disabled school teacher who's husband is in a nursing home. She is the type of customer for Honda, that's noteworthy. Owned two civics in the past, bought new. She is starting to need her Honda more as it's getting her to increasing dr. Apps. 64,000 miles and garage kept and documented maintenance, oil etc. The air-conditioning stopped working on the way to visit her husband. Would Honda, management help me to help her by supplying her with the pump or cost of and I will get the labor and charge the system. The band wagon we would preach from would be huge. 30 + years as a auto body tech, working for many car lots large and small, and knowing numerous mechanics, collectively agree that with milage at the low 64,000, and garage kept. Regular maintenance and driven by a school teacher. Renew our faith that Honda is not just a multi billion dollar business that cares. First by offering us the public a very well built auto that's safe and dependable. Help this poor lady who gave herself to teach. Help and I'll praise you daily the rest of my life. I purchased a 2009 Honda crv in 2017 at the west chester scott Honda dealership. This vehicle, when I purchased it, had 38,000 miles on it. A year after I purchased it, there was a problem with the door lock accelerator on the driver's side door. I purchased the Honda part myself and had it repaired. A month after this, the left back passenger side door had the same problem. I purchased another part and had it repaired also. About six months ago, the same problem occurred on the front passenger door and on the right back passenger door. This should not be considered normal wear and tear on a vehicle because this occurred on all four doors. I went on-line and researched that this issue was involved in a class action lawsuit case id #2:13-cv-00381. In this information, it was stated that, Honda knew about this problem with the door locks but avoided acknowledging the problem. It was also stated that this issue occurred after the limited 36,0000 mile warranty. It alleged that Honda avoided acknowledging the problem so they would not have to cover repairs. The lawsuit settled and Honda agreed to repair these affected vehicles free of charge. The warranty on these vehicles was also extended from 3 to 6 years or 6 months from the date the settlement was reached. Honda also agreed to reimburse owners who had already paid for this malfunction. When I purchased this vehicle from this Honda dealership, this issue was never mentioned to me. Now I am saddled with this problem and I paid to get this fixed out of my own pocket. I went to this dealership last week for a different recall, I spoke to the supervisor,, he said that he didn't know anything about this. He was very rude. Currently the front passenger door and the right back passenger door are still not working and it locks and you can't open it unless you push the driver side. If there was an accident, I wouldn't be able to open those doors.

Pulled my car into my garage. Trapped in my car. Unable to unlock the doors. Unrolled windows, unable to open doors by reaching outside handles. Remote on key didn't help. Had to get assist to use the key in the outside key hole. Fortunately, the windows worked, and I had my phone to call for help. Tried many times to unlock doors over the next hours. Only worked with key in lock. Took to dealer. Again needed assist to exit car. Personnel really questioned my sanity saying, � no way� when I explained problem. They approached the car, and using the remote unlocked the doors! with that, they sent me on my way. No explanation for what had happened, or assurance it wouldn't happen again. Fortunately I had my phone and the garage door was still open, so I was able to get help. As an 83 year old widow, it was an uncomfortable situation. Glad I didn't have to resort to climbing out a window.

Takata recall" the air compressor in the car just stop working my vents just started to throw out smoke almost causing me into a accident on the highway on my way to work. Now my car ac is not throwing out cold air its blowing warm air instead of cold. I don't here the compresser going on any more.

The driver door is not latching properly. When driving, the light on the dashboard indicates that the driver's door is open. In addition. When accelerating, the electric door locks will unlock. There is a class action lawsuit regarding this issue, but my car is not included, although I am having the problem with my car. This problem occurs when the car is stationary and moving.

The sunroof (or moonroof as they call it) spontaneously shattered while driving on the highway. Thankfully the glass didn't go inside the vehicle, but it was a tremendous shock to us. We were very lucky that the glass didn't fall onto our heads as we were driving. Initially we thought this was due to an external event such as a rock being thrown to our car, although we were not under a bridge when this happened. When we stopped, we realized that the problem wasn't external. The glass shattered in an even mesh, without any evidence of an impact. The mesh was pointing outwards in the center, rather than inwards as expected if it had been an external cause. I've attached some photos. I also have video of the shattered sunroof if needed.

There was a Honda Cr-v mailed out to me in July 2016, saying that the propellant wafers and airbags were damaged, and needed to be fixed. The time span was of the summer, which has passed. The NHTSA recall is 16v-346. Thank you, for any help you may help.

Ac compressor clutch broke. It is hugely expensive. In texas not having ac is life threatening. Literally over 70% of crv owner have this problem and have to pay out of pocket. I'm a student so I can't spend over $1500 on something that should have been built right (over 160 degrees in a car in texas). This item should have been recalled because it would be fixed in 24 hrs in a apt by law.

All of the window and door seals are melting. It started last summer. Whenever I roll my side windows down and up the black rubber has melted and it leaves black streaks on my windows. The rubber started to flap in the wind from under the metal seals on all four doors over a year ago. My rubber seal around my windshield is also melting. I wash my car and cannot dry the top any longer due to the rubber melting onto the paint. The sunroof and back have not started yet. I have purchased several new cars prior to purchasing the Honda -new. I've also purchased 3 used cars before, I've kept cars over 15 year ; none ever have had the rubber seal melt. My husband was told by a mechanic "that has been a problem".

Lock actuator for passenger side rear door lock is making loud noise when locking door. This noise is identical to noise made by passenger front lock actuator before failure. Replacement of previous actuator cost about $400. 00. There is no way to lock doors to secure vehicle without energizing this actuator.

I had problems with the battery being dead. Six times I had to charge the battery or have it towed in to be serviced. The first time the dealer charged the battery and said it was fine. The second time they replaced the battery. The third thru five time I had to charge the battery in my garage, after buying a charging unit. The six time I had it towed in from my garage to the dealer. I read on the internet that there was a problem with the a/c relay and I asked that it be replaced. The dealership said there problems with other years but not with the 2009. I also have an advantage extended warranty up to 10/23/2019 but they said it wasn't covered. I payed $90. 94 to have the a/c relay replaced and so far the car is starting. I think the cost of $90. 94 should have been covered by Honda or my advantage warranty.

This involves my tires on my 09 Honda crv. I am the original and only owner - two years ago, July 9,2011 I brought my car in for routine servicing and tire rotation and was advised my tires (original yokohama) were choppy and needed replacement. The dealer at the time only recommended replacement with the same tires which I refused as I felt they wore prematurely and replaced them at a tire dealer with coopers. Now, two years almost to the day, I brought my car in for tire rotation and balancing and was told the tires are choppy and need replacement again, this time 92,000. Is this a defect? I always service my car and need to determine the cause of this - this is too much of a coincidence. Thank you-.

Problem with door lock. Making noise while start driving -back door not locking. I did find out that Honda have some issue with power doors. Went to dealer to find out if there is the recall. Even when so many customers have problems -Honda not facing problem.

For the past month or so my car doors will not all unlock with the key fobs. The rear door and trunk will not always open. Additionally, when driving slow or making slow turns, the door locks will lock and or unlock as I am driving. Will be going to the dealer and hopefully have them fix this. This is a very dangerous problem, especially if one has small children.
