2 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem

Failure Date: 10/23/2018

I had both airbag inflators replaced. However I recently received a notification from dealer saying the passenger bag needed doing. I thought this was weird, and checked the Honda recall site, and it says "nothing needs replacing". However, today I doubled check with the dealer, and they said there was a "bulletin" associated with a potential faulty installation. I have no idea now if this is dealer bullshit or a legit safety concern. Please make sure Honda knows about this.

Takata recall - I think that the proper inflators have been replaced in my Cr-v but I'm still getting recall notices. I had the work performed at sylacauga Honda (256-245-5000). Two different trips but that's another story. When I call them I just get the run around. How can I tell if the problem has been corrected?.

Failure Date: 08/22/2016

Takata recall on 08/22/2016. For oil change autonation costa mesa CA. Advisor mentioned recall, he orders the parts and it will take two weeks to sixty days and will call once parts arrives. After I got in my car I read the paper copy that I signed and it stated that ¿while they wait for redesigned parts to become available, customer has elected to retain possession of theirle and has signed the ¿Honda takata airbag inflator retention/storage owner indemnification agreement¿ I said does agreement mean that I am willing to drive my own car? he said yes. I said if I feel uncomfortable to drive my car because of safety issue what can be done. Then he said you can get rental car for me. Why not mentioned that I am signing an agreement about recall fix and explain it to me? why customer automatically gets signed to agreement when they sign for regular maintenance service without knowing what options are availalble to them? why mentioned about rental car before I signed agreement? what happens to other customer who don¿t even read their oil change service paper that they signed? I left with my own car I didn¿t want to change in rental car, thinking they will call me within sixty days. 3-4 days before sixty days I called the dealership. They never called. Made an appointment for 3-4 hrs of recall work. Asked him does Honda provide rental car for a day? he said no Honda stopped renting car for airbag recall from September 15th. Since last I was there on August 22nd they might have stopped rental cars for recall fix after that. Went there for recall 10/26/2016 I asked same person rental car Honda stopped providing rental from August 1st !! I was here on August 22nd for my oil change and they said yes. Why not contact me within sixty day if the part was there? why flip-flop on rental car? not providing transparent information.

7 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem

"passenger airbag inflator" and "takata recall". This is regarding the recall numbers 16v-346 and 16v-061 for Cr-v 2011 model. I have received two recall notices one in March 2016 and other one in July 2016. Since it's clearly indicated in the safety recall notice received from Honda that it's risky to have passenger in the front passenger seat, I am very much worried with accompanying my family and friends in this vehicle with safety. Even I am not sure if same risk applicable for the driver as well. The fix for this issue taking so long even though it's very clear that there is a high risk for death or body injury if airbag is inflated. Please have the servicing facility provide an alternative arrangement until these parts available. I am a common man who has only one vehicle for day to day use and if any major injuries/death happened to me or my family due to this airbag issue, I would like to know if Honda would be ready to take the responsibility for that. Please consider it as a high priority issue.

9 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem

Failure Date: 06/03/2016

Takata recall - I purchased a 2011 Honda Cr-v for my daughter as her primary vehicle. In early 2016 I received a letter from Honda information me of the takata airbag recall. The letter advised that the car should not be driven due to faulty airbags that have resulted in fatalities. The letter included a phone number to Honda. I have called Honda America countless times trying to resolve the issue. Initially I was directed to the dealer who I purchased the car from, then to the closest dealer to where my daughter lives during the school year. Next I was directed to follow up with Honda America. I have been going around and around with Honda America because they are willing to rent cars for vehicles affected by the airbag recall since the impacted cars are so dangerous to drive. The problem is that my daughter is 18 and major car rental companies do not rent to ¿under age¿ drivers in California. Honda has a website dedicated to this recall and on more than one page they state that they commit to ensuring that young driver have a seamless experience obtaining rental cars until their car is safe to drive again. That is not what is happening in my case. . Read more...

11 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2016

Takata recall hello, I just received a replacement vehicle while Honda waits to figure out how to fix the inflators. Fortunately, I did not get to test whether my vehicle was affected. However, instead of receiving a replacement small-size SUV, they gave me a mid-sized sedan in the interim. This is a poor trade, and I will incur additional costs as I have to move. Is there anything that can be done about it? I feel ripped off since I was apparently driving a frag-grenade around for the last few years.

14 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem

Failure Date: 12/10/2014

There is an "air bag" warning light on in this vehicle. When hooked up to computer it reads "air bag inflator" problem. Older models of Honda's have had recall notices for this problem. I called billion Honda in iowa city, IA and they responded "no recall" on this vehicle and "not covered under warranty" and were rude on the phone. Warrant states 15 years or 150k mile warranty on "safety restraints". With past history and warranty coverage I would think they would correct this problem before the liability becomes greater.
