1 Car Accelerates On Its Own problem

Failure Date: 07/20/2016

Unintended acceleration. I pulled into my son's driveway. When I applied the brake the vehicle accelerated. It was heading towards the house and continued to accelerate as I increased pressure on the brake. I swerved onto their lawn; eventually major force on the brake brought the vehicle to a stop. I checked the floor mat; it was attached firmly to the floor. I am sure I was on the right pedal; I felt the brake and throttle "fighting" each other. It's the car stopped and in park I tried to see if my foot could depress both pedals simultaneously. That did not seem possible. The initial evaluation at the dealer did not reveal the cause of the problem.
