At times when I am trurning on the car I hear a grinding noise. I'm not sure where this noise is comeing from but it's loud and scrachy grindy. Sometime is comes on when I first start the car in the morning, but yet sometime is dose the same thing later on in the day. Some days it dose not do that noise at all, but some days it does it a few times in the day. I have asked the dealer about it but they don't know why. The form requires a date of when this happens, but there is no exact date this issue happens whenever no worning and no reason why it should happen.

Back door will not unlock. I attempted multiple times with the key fob, which has batteries and unlocked the other doors. I then tried to unlock it by pressing the unlock button on the driver's side. That did not work either. I continued to try all the other doors unlock buttons with no luck. I am unable to use the back portion of the vehicle seeing as I can't get to it. This could pose a serious issue with everyday activities from putting groceries back there to accessing my spare tire if needed.

38 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/16/2015

Car would not start. When the key was turned, the engine cranked slowly, then the starter only clicked. The vehicle had been used regularly (20 min drive to and from work) in the days leading up to the incident. Car was jump started with another car and it started up properly. We took the vehicle into the dealer and it seems that technical service bulletin for 2012 Cr-v also applied to the 2013 Cr-v -- TSB 12-041. However, when I had searched the list of service bulletins for the 2013 Cr-v, the issue didn't come up on the NHTSA website. I think this service bulletin should be issued for the 2013 Cr-v as well.

39 Equipment problem

A rodent built a nest in the blower motor of our 2013 Honda Cr-v. The rodent nest affected the operation of the motor, and caused rodent contaminated air to be circulated throughout the cabin. This health hazard could have been avoided by installing screening that would prevent rodents from entering the blower motor. The screening is technologically and economically feasible for Honda motor company, ltd. ("Honda"). In addition to the safety hazard, Honda refuses to cover, under warranty, service and repairs for blower motor damage caused by infiltrating rodents despite the design defect. After reviewing complaints available on the internet, it appears that there are many consumers that have been similarly affecting by the design defect, and by Honda's unwillingness to take responsibility for the defect.

40 Equipment problem

Sunroof glass exploded while driving on the interstate.

41 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/27/2015

I had a tire that kept loosing air. This went on for over a month. When I took it in to have the tire checked for a problem. The guy looking at my tire came back and said I had little holes all the way around center tread of my tire. He told me that if that one was dry rotted then possible some of the others were also. I decided to replace the whole set. Upon pulling off the other tires I had two more tires like that in the same condition. I am just thankful this was caught before I had a wreck. I drive the interstate a lot. I was very disappointed that I had to replace a set of tires and didn't even have 30,000 miles on them.

42 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/18/2015

I was involved in an accident in philadelphia, PA on January 18, 2015 due to ice on highways. I slid into one car and got him by another car. My car is currently in a repair shop. I received a call that the car can be fixed, however I need to know how safe is the car since I received so much damage to the car and the air bags never deployed.

2013 Honda crv with 27,000 miles has been making grinding noises when starting the engine in cold weather. This started about a year ago and was not happening each time. It seems temperature related. We called our dealer who said this problem was known by Honda and that Honda was working on it and we would be contacted by the dealer once Honda had a solution. They seemed to know exactly what was causing the problem and admitted that other customers had called with exactly the same complaint. From what we have seen online, this problem has been around for a while and there has been no resolution from Honda. In the meantime, because oil is not getting to this part in the starter, we can only assume that this part is being worn down. This problem is known by Honda yet it appears nothing is being done to replace the part. This seems like a problem that would require a recall. We will continue to contact our dealer here in bend, oregon, so that we can keep our concern documented and on the table.

We were driving on I-81, had to slow down in left lane for traffic. Accelerator failed when we tried to resume speed. "econ" mode on. Not sure how much we had slowed before attempting to return to highway speed. It was 3 - 5 seconds or more before accelerator "unlocked. " same response in similar situations occurred a total of 13 times. Different speeds, slow city roads or interstates, going straight or in a turn, always unexpected, mostly within a month's time but sometimes after a much longer interval. Weather always good. Last event was on April 25, 2015 (last week) with mileage at 7,000. Have not used econ mode since June 11, 2014. Dealer has failed to find any malfunctioning parts or systems during the 4 separate times we brought in the car to be checked for this problem. We have talked to american Honda, given them a detailed diary of each acceleration failure event, and they have given us a case number. We worry that our safety and that of others may compromised because of this loss of control when we need to move quickly, and we have already had drivers around us react in dangerous ways, not understanding why we hadn't picked up speed.

Vehicle was parked in driveway after just returning home. Vehicle was in park. As my wife unloaded items vehicle rolled backwards out of driveway striking a parked vehicle. I checked immediately after accident and vehicle was indeed in park.

48 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2014

The heater seems to be overheating and melting my vents. I have taken it to Honda, and they stated that it was impossible for a heater to get that hot. The heater is so hot that you cannot touch the vents if the heater is turned on, you have to wait 2-4 minutes after turning it off before you can touch the vents. I complained about the vents melting, and they said that it must have been something I did to make it happen, and will not replace the vents or check the heater until I figure out what happened to the vents.

49 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/04/2014

I started to notice a croaking (sounds like a frog) noise coming from the rear of the vehicle when lightly accelerating from a stop in drive or reverse and right before I come to a complete stop. I have had this vehicle for a year, which I purchased new and this sound started after 11 months of ownership. I took my vehicle to the dealership where it was determined that the noise is coming from a noisy rear differential pump motor (part of the awd system) per a manufacturers tech line summary article. Per the dealership and manufacturer, the manufacturer is aware of this problem and is currently working on a fix, but does not have one to date. Manufacturer has instructed dealerships not to replace any rear differential pump motors at this time.

The heat -system has never worked properly. This includes the windshield defrost mode that does not clear the windshield for safe visability. . Hot air will only blow out of the passenger side vents and cold air blows out of the driver side vents. The windshield does not defrost enough for good safe visability. Honda corp. And dealers know about this issue on 2012 to 2017 models and is avoiding any recall or offer to fix this safety issue. Please help us to get this fixed so these cars are safe to drive in cold months. Thank you. Ken buchser 727-789-1602.

51 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/02/2013

When starting the car in cold (50 degrees f or lower) or falling temperatures, with a cold engine (not run for at least 8 hours), I hear what sounds like a cranking sound from the engine compartment after the engine starts. The cranking sound lasts less than a second and sounds like severe vibration of a part with screws/components that have come loose. I've recorded the sound and have the file available. The sound does not occur with a warm engine.

52 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/30/2013

On 4 different occasions, from being stopped and making a turn or proceeding through a stop sign, the car hesitated long enough to realize that "I should be moving by now and what is going on", then the car would jerk forward. (different degrees of jerking). Felt like the transmission was slipping. Bought the car in 9-13. It happened 3 times before the first oil change 1-14. Thought it was me because I was replacing a 13 year old odyssey that had a bad transmission. Informed dealership at first oil change and inspection. . . Was told that it was normal when driving with the econ system. Which tells me they are completely aware of the problem. And that there would be nothing for them to find unless the engine light had come on. 4th time was in 5-14. Econ button was off and I was turning left into my driveway. Called the dealership and Honda corp. Was told they "understood my frustration" and would do what could to find out the problem. Dealership drove the car and couldn't duplicate the problem and said the car is running"as was designed". That's right. . . Until it doesn't. There are countless complaints on the internet over many years. Was told by Honda they don't check the internet. Even if that were true, what about their dealerships service centers? it is not safe! my oldest is a new driver. I thought I was buying a safe car.

53 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/19/2013

While driving, I thought the engine was revving due to the sound that I was hearing. I went for an oil change, at 10,000 miles, and mentioned the noise to the adviser. I told him the sound started at about 9500 miles and appeared to be getting louder at 10,000 miles. I was told it wasn't anything to do with the engine, transmission or any other components other than a wheel bearing on the front driver side. No one looked at the area to determine if it was indeed the wheel bearing. My tires were rotated along with the oil change. I was told my tires were fine and wearing evenly. Nothing was checked or done to specifically see or know it was/is a wheel bearing. I had to remind the adviser about the noise I had been hearing. My car was test driven by the foreman to hear the noise. He drove it on the highway, I was in the car. He started swerving the car. He then stated it was definitely a wheel bearing. My vehicle is under warranty and when I mentioned the possibility of the other bearings going, he said unlikely but would check the front passenger wheel bearing. The part wasn't in stock and has to be ordered and I had to make an appointment for 09/17/2013 to have them check/repair the wheel bearing(s). Seems odd for the wheel bearings to go after only about 9500 miles.
