general problems of the 2015 Honda CR-V

My crv Honda 2015 is stalling and Honda is not associating any recalls to the car.

The fuel pump failed while I was driving on the highway. My car entirely and suddenly stopped working while I was driving in an extremely busy highway almost causing me to get into an accident. There was a recall issued for my year and type of vehicle but my VIN number was not listed and I was not notified or contacted of the potential danger. I spoke with Honda and they told me my vehicle VIN was not under the recall. I had lights flash in my dashboard almost immediately before my gas just stopped working and I had to almost coast to the side of the road. Terrifying.

Car in limp mode stating misfire- fuel injector issue plugs and coils were replaced. Car down multiple times, once on highway for 5 hours- dangerous and another time on a corner of a road- dangerous.

For the very first time I've noticed that my car won't start in a normal way. It was a couple of months ago. It was driving fine back then. Two weeks ago, not only my car won't start many lights came on including the engine service light. I took my car to columbia Honda dealership; they only tested my battery and told me the battery was fine. So, they let me go. On 05/13/2024 my car experienced the same symptoms but this time besides all these lights that came on, my car was not accelerating, just started stalling, therefore I had to take it to the closest shop which is custom complete automotive that is 0. 5 miles away from me. At first, they weren't able to identify the issue, but they found a service bulletin issued by Honda on March 18 , 2016,(please find it attached to my email) according to which there were multiple complaints from the Honda customers about the same issues that are connected to each other. Those are: crank sensor malfunction, o-ring, intake manifold gasket a, engine wire harness. Based on this bulletin, custom complete automotive manager kyle recommended that all those parts needed to be replaced but the repair cost is enormous so I've decided only on the crank sensor to be replaced so that I can proceed with further repairs while be able to drive my car (I've attached the invoice from custom automotive for the crankshaft sensor including their labor work and diagnostics). Last night same symptoms appeared (car won't start and was stalling) and I took it to Honda service again.

While on cruise control at 70mph car went into limp mode reducing speed and unable to accelerate on highway. Check engine light came on. Rested car on highway, then drove another 1. 5hr no issues (not using cruise control) - check engine light was off. Checked oil - oil was clean (done less than 1,000 miles ago). Began trip again, oil light came on indicating need for a change. Vehicle went into limp mode for the second time going 70mph. Check engine light came on for the second time, this time blinking. Vehicle was towed. Dealership initially reported all was fine no issues only needed an oil change. Requested Honda dealer to drive on highway - dealer drove on highway reach 60-70mph. Vehicle for the third time went into limp mode needing a second tow. Honda dealership indicated that the vehicle needed new fuel injectors, however the parts needed to fix the vehicle are back ordered indefinitely. Overall vehicle went into limp mode three times on highway at a fast speed. Vehicle lights for maintenance would go away after vehicle was shut off indicating no issue or further need for evaluations.

While driving on the highway, vehicles dashboard lights came on and car immediately began to slow down which resulted in a complete stop. Let vehicle rest and started up again no issues. After driving for a period of time it occurred again. Dealership reviewed and reported no problems. Requested dealership to drive vehicle at a higher speed for a period of time. Issue occurred again. After further inspection it was the fuel injectors that were misfiring. At the time, parts were back ordered indefinitely. Vehicle has since been repaired.

High pressure fuel pump leaking gasoline which you can smell from inside the car.

I was driving on busy street at 35 mph suddenly car start stopping and giving jerk . It was not safe as I was driving my new born girl and 6 years old girl suddenly car loss power in motion took to Honda dealer nearby they just told me my car high pressure fuel pump failed and it need to be replaced. The car is well maintained with regular oil changes I don't know why such critical part of car failed I don't feel safe anymore in this car.

Purchased used at 64,000 miles. Second day of ownership/operation vehicle began stalling while in operation on the road. This happened when coming to a stop, when accelerating from a stop and while at high speeds on the highway. I am not sure if th problem is caused by drivetrain, fuel delivery, engine, or electrical issues.

Three times the vehicle would not start while at walmart parking lot since over February 2020. I push the button to start and it wont start. The air condition/heater does not work since winter of 2021/2022. The electrical system has gone haywire twice. The lights on dashboard flash and the numbers roll all over since 2021. The door locks are not wanting to lock now for the past 12 months. While I was inside the car the door would not unlock the engine seems to stall for the past 8 months. It feels like it is not getting gas. I have taken the vehicle to the dealer three times for the air with no positive results yet.

Aug 1, 2021: on rural highway at approx 50-55 mph, all dashboard warning lights came on as engine power was cut drasticly, (over 50%). Minimal traffic, so was able to continue cautiously at very low speed with warning flashers to nearby service station, called local Honda dealer who towed in the crv. Dealer said the high pressure fuel pump had failed, which they replaced at my cost. No mention by the Honda dealer of any recall campaign, or report to Honda USA or NHTSA.

I was driving home and my car went into limp mode in the middle of the freeway. Not sure why my car downshifted and wouldn’t accelerate over 20mph or over 2500rpm. I thought my transmission went out, I was lucky to find a pull off, I shut my car off and then back on to see if I could get to an off ramp and the problem persisted. I had my vehicle towed to my mechanic, the problem was diagnosed and my mechanic said specifically that he has only seen this problem with cars that had faulty fuel pumps that were recalled, my year was not part of the recall, but my make and model was, but only different years. He advised me to report it because of how specific the problem was to the recall of newer models.

This has been an ongoing issue. Car won't start at times. The most recent incident I was getting gas at wawa then got back in and car wouldn't turn over and dash board lights stated flickering and a buzzing sound was coming from under the dashboard. Then on a side street it took 3 attempts to start. I took to mechanic who changed the starter 2 different times in 2 days. And now it won't start again. Also my oil is either burning or leaking out. I have had that addressed by a mechanic as well. That too was never figured out on multiple attempts by hall Honda who reported it as not even happening. And now again there is no oil in the car. I have been diligent about maintenance and oil changes. I have broken down in this car on side streets, in public parking places and in unsafe areas. I thought I was gettting a good dependable vehicle with Honda. But I have had nothing but problems.

Ongoing problem with loosing power when changing lanes. Honda representative never available.

This vehicle vibrates it's steering wheel and inside the cabin at 55mph and higher making it annoying, unstable and unsafe.

My original complaint stated that the problem was with the engine. A Honda rep has indicated that it could be in the fuel system, as sometimes the signal to push the fuel through may not reach, resulting in the loss of acceleration when attempting to pass another car or start from a stopped position.

The contact owns a 2015 Honda Cr-v. After exiting the vehicle after parking it in a garage, it continued to run while idling. As a result, carbon monoxide filled the residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The contact and his spouse went to the hospital. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The VIN was unknown. The failure mileage was 14,000.

Excessive engine vibration. Cabin vibration 35mph to 45mph. Honda s/b 15-46 mode 3. (software change). This sb corrected this problem. However, another problem arose: at idle, the engine would vacillate back and forth between 750 rpm and 500 rpm. When at 500rpm, it had extreme vibrations. Returned to Honda, and they installed a new transmission and radiator mounts as per 112oa2 "repaire procedure driving mode1: radiator lower cushions, tr s/b 15-046. . (transmission motor mount and radiator supports + head rests?) upon lifting the hood, the engine vibrates so much, I could scramble eggs on it. In my opinion, all they did was to use more flexible mounts to0 try and eliminate the vibration transfer to the frame. Now, it vibrates when slowly accelerating like @ 45 mph, it momentarily shudders/vibrates. Sooner or later, the engine is going to fail.

Virbration. Steering pulls left. The car has serious vibration at idle, @600 rpm, 1200 rpm, 1800 rpm and 2200+ rpm. This vibration transmits through seat, steering column, floor and pedals. Back pain is induced within just a few miles of driving. Feet get pins and needles and go numb as well as hands and arms fatigue quickly. Driving is limited in range as a result. Dealer attempted 4 repairs including reprogramming, remounting radiator and modifying engine. Vibration was dampened in the seat only at lower rpms. Mpg decreased from 33 mpg to 28 mpg. Car pulls strongly to the left. Having one hand on the wheel (e. G. Reaching for a. C. ) is not sufficient to keep it in a straight line. This has caused many near misses on two lane roads and now I just don't adjust a. C. Unless I have to (foggy window etc. ) I take i95 and this causes problems on ramps. I was told this was all related to the cv transmission, and it takes getting used to, but I had nissans with cv transmissions. For years. I have repair documentation but am unable to upload it at this time. Please contact me if you need them. I returned the car to the dealership immediately upon discovering the problem (within 48 hours of purchase) and they took no action or attempted repair until I had contacted them repeatedly.

Vehicle will not respond when foot is placed on the accelerator. When attempting to move the car forward from a stop sign or signal light the vehicle will not respond to the gas pedal for up to 5 seconds. Basically there is a delay from when the gas pedal is pressed until the vehicle responds. This has happened 5 times in past 6 to 7 weeks. This action has happened when attempting to move from a complete stop or when the vehicle is moving at a very slow speed. I escaped a near rear end collision when I removed my foot from the brake, pressed on the gas pedal and the car did not respond.

When the car was six months old there was a odor of gasoline. It took the car into the dealer and they inspected the car and told me that a mouse and eaten through my fuel line and that it was not covered under warranty and it would cost $980. I told them that I refuse to except their assumption and that they would have to prove to me that a mouse ate through the fuel line. They showed me the fuel line and there was only a couple small scars on it where it was leaking. Again I told them that I refuse to except that and the service department manager told the mechanic to put the car back together and "get it the fuck out of my shop" the date I put on this is only a guess. I don't have the paperwork anymore.

Since day one there has been a strong vibration at idle. The engine will be at 650-700 rpms and then drops to 500. It shakes uncontrollably when the rpms drop at a light or while idling. I've taken it in 3 times with no repair success.

Intermittently while in economy mode, when accelerating from a stop or while moving and increasing speed the engine hesitates anywhere from one to five seconds before any increase in speed or engine rpms. This is very dangerous and has caused me to almost be t-boned numerous times. There are many complaints about this on various sites on the internet. My dealer says this is normal because of the type of transmission. Other dealers say the same thing. This is going to get someone killed soon.

Purchased vehicle 1/29/15 almost immediately noticed when you accelerate the vehicle vibrates, left it go thinking new car needs to get broken in. 1400 miles later the car is still doing it, actually I think it's worse. Took to dealer and they confirmed there is a vibration when you accelerate and continues while you're driving. Dealer said Honda is aware of the issue but doesn't have a fix for it yet. In fact, the mechanic at the dealership said about eight (8) other customers with the same issue. I contacted Honda, only to be told this is a "condition" they are aware of and are investigating, however, since they don't feel there is a safety concern, they could not commit to when a repair procedure would be instituted. This is not acceptable. How can your car vibrating while you're driving not be a safety concern, how can anything that affects the driveability of your vehicle not be a safety concern. I can't even rid of it, what dealer is not going to question that vibrating. Honda should be required to find a fix for this issue or replace the affected vehicles before someone gets killed.

There are several onging problems caused by defects with this vehicle. There is a vibration when the car is in "drive" and completely stopped at an intersection. The rpm's drop, sometimes as low as 550 which causes a vibration as if the vehicle is about to stall. The lower the rpm's, the worse the vibration. On at least two occasions I have had to put the car in neutral at a stop light because the rpms dropped so low. There is another vibration or shudder in the trasnmissin between 1800 and 2000 rpms when accelerating. Sometimes I smell gasoline in my car shortly after ignition. Sometimes following deceleration, the cvt transmission cannot catch up, and when I need to accelerate again, I put the "pedal to the metal;" but the car is barely accellerating and not thrusting forward like it should. This occurred on a highway merge at I-83 and I-695 on December 19, 2014 (a tricky and dangerous merge area). Twice since 1/1/15 I have heard a frightening engine noise when decelerating on a windy downhill road. The noise sounds like a small plane is overhead, and I was shocked the car ws still running, as I was looking for check engine lights or some indication what was wrong. It is not a normal engine noise. Honda is aware of the vibrations when stopped and at 1800-2000 rpms and does not know if/when a fix may be available. I am not the only owner with this issue - there are a number of complaints on the various review boards, and Honda has acknowledged it is widespread. Honda will not provide their position to me in writing when asked. The dealer has been unable to duplicate the other problems which are more intermittent, and it will be back at the dealer next week to address the frightening engine noise and document that problem. I do not feel safe driving this car and I am concerned that it will fail, resulting in an accident.

As I was trying to accelerate, the vehicle stopped responding. This has happened about 7 times now since I bought the vehicle new in oct. 2014. It happens as I give the vehicle gas to accelerate - it seems to just stop accelerating - it lasts about 2 seconds, and then seems to recover. There is the sensation that the vehicle has shutdown/shutoff, but does not actually stall. Vehicle was taken back to the dealer who said they found nothing wrong. It typically happens between 50-65 mph, but has happened 1x under 15mph (was in a parking lot at that time). The first time it happened I had pulled into a high-speed lane, gave the car gas, but it just seemed to go dead for about 2 seconds.

In Jan 2015 I purchased my fourth Honda since (and my second crv) for the absolute reliability, quality, durability, and peace of mind that I have always felt with the brand. That however changed dramatically on July 16, 2015 when, at approximately 2:30pm, I was driving my vehicle in a parking lot at approx 5mph. As I eased into the parking space with my foot on the brake pedal, my car suddenly lurched forward. It was with such force that the entire car went up onto the curb and into the bushes beyond. I could not stop my car! beyond these bushes was a main road with heavy traffic. Intuitively, I slammed on the emergency brake, which ultimately stopped the car. My car was so entangled in the bushes that I needed to have it towed out. On July 21, the Honda dealer scanned all systems for dtcs, tested brakes, and checked throttle pedal operation and found “at this time the braking system, throttle system and safety override systems are functioning as designed. ” upon further investigation, it is apparent that ‘unintended acceleration while braking’ is a well-documented issue. I contacted Honda corp on July 21 and was assigned a regional case mgr who informed me that she would schedule an american Honda rep to inspect my car. To date, I still await follow up action from my case mgr. This event has caused, and continues to cause, great anxiety and stress for me. I use this unreliable and unsafe vehicle daily and am constantly worried that this mechanical or electrical aberration will repeat itself, and with a less fortunate outcome.
