1 Steering problem

Failure Date: 09/24/2024

The contact owns a 2015 Honda Cr-v. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 mph, the "steering assist fault" warning light illuminated. The contact was able to pull over. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle several times and was able to reset the power steering assist. The contact stated that the power steering failure had reoccurred. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed and was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 44,000.

2 Steering problem

Failure Date: 06/04/2024

The contact owns a 2015 Honda Cr-v. The contact stated that when the vehicle was started, the traction control, steering, and abs warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the abs module needed to be replaced. The dealer informed the contact that the part was not available. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact then took the vehicle to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle with the same failure as the dealer. The independent mechanic made the contact aware of technical service bulletin: c0044-4-9 (rear brakes sticking after bleeding with the park brake set); which the contact related to the failure. The dealer confirmed that the vehicle was not under recall, and that the contact had to pay out of pocket for the repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 89,000.

3 Steering problem

Failure Date: 11/15/2023

The contact owns a 2015 Honda Cr-v. The contact stated while driving 45 mph, the vehicle started pulling to the right. The contact became aware that the electric power steering was not functioning properly. The contact was able to pull to the shoulder of the roadway, where the vehicle idled abnormally rough, causing the seats to vibrate. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the power steering assist control module. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 17v305000 (engine) but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was known.

4 Steering problem

Failure Date: 01/07/2023

Power steering failed.

5 Steering problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2022

The power steering light intermittently comes on and nearly locks the steering wheel. This occurs without warning while driving. Turning the vehicle off and on sometimes resolves the issue. This occurs without warning and makes steering very difficult. My mechanic confirmed the vehicle is showing a code for the power steering system and said the only solution was to replace the electronic motor. The warning light does not come on until the steering wheel stiffens up. This has occurred many times at various speeds. There seems to be no pattern. Sometimes it does not happen for a week or two, other times it happens multiple times in a day.

6 Steering problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2022

The contact owns a 2015 Honda Cr-v. The contact stated that while the vehicle was either idle or while driving at various speeds, the steering wheel, seats, and dashboard all would sporadically start to vibrate. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer who advised him that they did not recognize the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that while conducting his own research, he found there were many complaints about what he was experiencing with his vehicle. The manufacturer was notified about the failure and advised that he contact the NHTSA for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 30,100.

7 Steering problem

Failure Date: 03/19/2019

In purchasing a used crv 2015 from a Honda dealer in shingle springs, CA I have found less than honest information regarding the tires and alignment. I did purchase the Honda care . , I have since ( today) brought the vehicle, when driving there is a noticeable pull the right. To another dealership in hopes of finding out the truth about what is wrong with the steering, tires brakes etc.

8 Steering problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2018

This vehicle vibrates it's steering wheel and inside the cabin at 55mph and higher making it annoying, unstable and unsafe.

9 Steering problem

The approximate failure mileage was 8,000. Aa.

10 Steering problem

Failure Date: 04/13/2017

Excessive vibration throughout cabin. Honda service recommended and applied the mod 1 repair. This has only moved the vibration around in the vehicle. Now the vibration is much more felt in the steering wheel, the passenger seat and the rear seat. A much more aggressive vibration has now shown up at speeds around 70 mph - though this vibration is much more intermittent. The vibration has been an issue since I purchased the vehicle with 4 miles on it in July of 2015. I went back to the dealer initially and they suggested running the air conditioning or an accessory to minimize the problem. Honda was working on a fix. Still waiting for the fix and also wondering what serious problems this is going to cause down the road.

11 Steering problem

Failure Date: 02/03/2017

I was driving down a steep hill about a block from my homewhen all of the "trouble" lights came on. I immediately tuned around and the engine power was so low that I barely made it the block home. I parked and called Honda service. Whe I found out that since my car had 47,000 miles on it and Honda towing would cost $160, I had the car towed by a local service for $100 to the dealer. When I called the dealer on the following Monday (it happened on a Friday or Saturday), they informed me that the mechanics could not reproduce the problem by starting the car. No attempt was made to drive it. The company informed me that there was corrosion between the engine wire harness and the sensor connector. The parts to replace were the crank sensor connector, the o ring, and intake manifold gasket. This cost $1002.

12 Steering problem

Failure Date: 08/29/2016

This car has been an absolute nightmare. I literally cannot keep it running. Honda now uses soy based wiring which attracts rodents. I have several other cars in the driveway plus farm equipment. Mowers, lawn mowers etc. The rodents target specifically the Honda. Had to have the power steering sub harness replaced twice last fall and windshield washer tank, at 3020 miles, 4434 miles, 5045 miles. First two repairs were sub harness. It now is in the shop again for loss of power steering due to rodent damage at 16660 miles, loss of power steering sub harness. I had a Honda Cr-v 04 before this one and it did not get rodent damage. This is directly related to Honda's soy based wiring . . . . . They will not honor any customer satisfaction at all concerning this issue. The dealer where I bought the car all but laughed in my face. The dealer now doing the repairs has been very respectful although Honda will take no responsibility for this problem. I am concerned about this also as safety issue. . . . . . Three times now my power steering has gone out. Luckily I was still in my yard and was able to park the car safely and have it towed. I have not tried to drive it once the steering goes out. . . Very difficult to turn the vehicle and I would think very dangerous at highway speeds. . . . Car was in reverse and motion when power steering loss occurred. . . . .

13 Steering problem

Failure Date: 06/22/2016

I used my 2015 Honda Cr-v awd touring to tow a trailer with two scooters loaded. The touring trim has the lane keeping assist system (lkas) which uses a camera to read the road markings and will bump the steering wheel if the driver is getting too close to the center or sides of the road. I was driving on the interstate at the speed limit on a day with clear weather. With lkas on, when the trailer would hit a bump the crv would over-correct the steering back and forth causing the trailer to sway and making it difficult to get under control. At 70 mph, it was dangerous. I had to keep the lkas turned off to keep the vehicle safe. With lkas off, the trailer pulled great and never swayed. It surprised me the driving experience would be vastly different with the lkas safety feature activated. The owner's manual has no warnings about using the lkas while towing in either the lkas section or the towing section. The closest applicable warning is if the car is overloaded the camera may not be able to see the road markings. My trailer is in good working order. It was well balanced side to side and front to back. It was not overloading the hitch. The vehicle was riding level. The trailer and bikes weigh about 1,100 lbs. The vehicle is rated to tow 1,500 lbs. I had previously towed a small utility trailer with similar results. If the trailer or how it was loaded was to blame, I would have expected to experience control issues whether the lkas was on or off. I only experienced issues when lkas was on. I have contacted american Honda and opened case #04800645.

14 Steering problem

Failure Date: 01/20/2016

The contact owns a 2015 Honda Cr-v. While attempting to accelerate, the steering wheel veered to the left independently. In addition, when making a left or right turn, the vehicle would turn to the opposite direction that the steering wheel was being turned. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the cause of the failure was undetermined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 11,793.

15 Steering problem

Failure Date: 01/20/2016

Unresolved problems with the vehicle's steering, eps: 1. The car pulls left under acceleration and at speed. 2. The car does not maintain center/neutral position or track straight down the road without excessive intervention. 3. The car intermittently needs unexpected intervention through turns as the steering is not direct or does not reflect input from the driver. 4. The car intermittently requires more input/force to turn the wheel to one side vs. Another. This and there is an ongoing issue with the vibration at idle even though TSB 15-046 was applied but did not fix vehicle vibration.

16 Steering problem

Failure Date: 01/06/2016

Bought a Honda crv-lx 2015 two months ago only to have a vibration problem after three weeks. Hondas fix was to put new head rest with shorter post and bushings under radiator, rear tail gate , transmission and engine so as to mask vibration problem. After doing this the steering became hard not like it was when we first got the vehicle, the steering goes from very easy to almost manual I consider this a safety problem. Unfortunately Honda of America will not acknowledge that it was a design flaw and the car should not be sold. It vibrated at a stop very bad then it feels like you have studded snow tires on at 40 to 50 miles an hour which they claim is a software fix there is a class action law suit in California against Honda for these problems.

17 Steering problem

Failure Date: 10/21/2015

I bought a brand new 2015 Honda Cr-v ex fwd a month ago. When the vehicle was little over 600 miles, I started feeling a severe vibration intermittently at idle in drive mode when I stop at stop signs. The frequency and severity increased now when it is about 1000 miles. Just to check its severity I placed an empty plastic bag on the passenger seat and I could here the noise made by the bag due to vibration. It was as if like massaging on my back and back of head. When I reported it to service department, they checked and told me that its a know issue with all 2015 models and no fix has been identified. I called american Honda also as per their suggestion and they also acknowledged this issue but said no fix is available. I'm wondering if there is any body that actually regulates auto makers to not sell vehicles having issues. If there is a know issue like this how can they keep selling the vehicles with issues and how does Honda sales people don't know about this issue? its almost end of 2015 and when are they going to develop a fix?.

18 Steering problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2015

The sensor to correct the steering engages and disengages when it feels like it. The dealer is acting as if it is working properly even though their tech and salesman were in the car with me when it happened. When I had my 2007, I had a problem with the volume button changing the radio station and they said the same thing. I lived with it for 8 years and just found out it was a problem.

19 Steering problem

Failure Date: 09/28/2015

I bought 2015 Honda Cr-v ex just 4 week ago, it has a huge vibration that you can feel and see inside the vehicle especially when its stop and in idle mode or drive shift. Vibration can feel in the seating, steering wheel, side doors, brake and gas pedals, shift knob and even the back passager seat. I bought this car for my family to enjoy their daily rides but their not, and keep asking me why has it. Psychologically and emotionally my driving concentration are always affected, and that is unsafe for our everyday driving and to anyone who has this issue. I always feel sick every times I get out of this car, I feel my hand like I use a jack hammer after a while. Dealer's service dept. Confirmed to me that there are three issues that cause the vibration and there is no fix yet about the issue. I love Honda eversince, it my favorite brand. I hope they can do something to fix it fast before any can get hurt. .

20 Steering problem

Failure Date: 09/16/2015

Car was pulling into a parking spot at a local dept store parking lot. The can was put in park. Then an attempt was made to turn off vehicle. The engine excelerated and starting to push the vehicle opposite our vehicle out its parking spot, my wife tried stopping the vehicle by braking that did not work or did pushing the ignition button. She then turned the car to the right in driving lane toward the store, brakes , horn, or power steering did not work, she was able the turn the vehicle away from store to next turning lane. Engine still racing, grinding sounds can what seemed to be the transmission. The car went another 300ft. Jerk and finally shut down. Vehicle was towed away. The collision shop started it and drove to a spot til the repairs were to be made. I only have a partial police report from town of amherst police rjamq94shd49. The police also did an deployment inspection of the computer, which showed nothing, since the impact to the other vechicle was less than 10mph. The insurance company is leaving this up to me the consumer to go after Honda to get them to take a further look at the other commputers. I dont have the fullpolice report or the results of the deployment report. I hope to have info soon.

23 Steering problem

Failure Date: 05/12/2015

My 2015 crv has a consistent shudder and vibration that can be felt through the steering wheel and seat while driving. It is most noticeable at 1000 rpm's and 2000 rpm's. This vibration is very distracting and causes fatigue during longer trips. Also severe vibrations at the idle, around 600 rpm's when stopped at stop lights or in traffic. The vibration makes the car extremely uncomfortable to drive for the driver as well as the passenger.

24 Steering problem

Failure Date: 05/04/2015

2015 Honda Cr-v vibrates at idle while in gear just like everybody else's. I have also noticed extremely loud engine noise for a new car while at idle in gear or in park as well. Noise and vibration begun at about 141 miles.

25 Steering problem

Failure Date: 04/12/2015

This brand new Honda Cr-v awd touring 2015 (less than 3 weeks old) has an issue of vibration of the driver and passenger seats, steering wheel, and car overall (e. G. , doors). The issue happens when the car is driven a few miles and the car stops (idles) in drive mode (e. G. , an a stop light). Within seconds the seats and steering wheel starts to vibrate, sometimes uncomfortably. The vibration goes away as the car starts to move, so it seems to only happen noticeably when idling with the transmission in drive. The car is brand new and the vibration is noticeable enough that makes the driver (or passengers) aware and suspicious of a problem. A crack on the windshield was noticed Apr/12/2015 (starting at the bottom edge at driver¿s side and spreading towards the center). I went to dealer (manchester Honda) Apr/13/2015, showed vibration issue to seller which was reproduced at the dealer parking lot, and was later informed by a service rep that Honda is aware of issue. . 26 Steering problem

Failure Date: 03/20/2015

My first road trip in my new Cr-v. Driving at approx. 65 miles an hour it started vibrating violently. It was difficult to steer and maintain control. When I stopped at a red light still in drive but in idle the vibration continued. This went off and on for no apparent reason for 758 miles. Then the adaptive cruise control stopped working. I would get a message acc off. This was also intermittent through out the trip. On the way back home driving the 758 miles I had the same problems. This is potentially a dangerous situation as it is very difficult to maintain control while driving. A side issue, not dangerous, the sunroof leaks when going through a power wash. Hondas solution. . . Don't go through a power wash.

27 Steering problem

Failure Date: 03/20/2015

My 2015 Honda Cr-v touring model vibrates intermittently. It is worse when at idle such as at a stop sign or red light. It does happen, dangerously so while driving down the highway at speeds of 65-76 mph. Honda call this a "characteristic of the car" "an annoyance". It is more than this. It is a safety issue. Sow one is going to be seriously injured or worse.

28 Steering problem

Failure Date: 03/20/2015

My 2015 Honda Cr-v toiring model vibrates like crazy. Sometimes while stopped at a red light or stop sign. Certainly more concerning is having it vibrate while drive 65-80 miles an hoir while driving from colorado to oregon which is my first road trip in this vehicle. When taking normal curves it is difficult to control. I believe this is a dangerous situation. An accident waiting to happen. Less concerning but still an issue is that the sunroof leaks when going through a power wash. Honda's solution to rhis problem is to not go through a power wash. I sincerely hope something can be done before some one is aeriously harmed.

29 Steering problem

Failure Date: 03/11/2015

I bought a Honda crv 2015 ex-l. After driving it for one day experienced serious vibrations in driver and passenger seat while driving and even more intense when idling. I noticed an annoying vibration upon smooth acceleration, between 1000 and 1500 rpm. I had not noticed this problem on the demo I test drove, I feel that I pay 30000 dollar for vibratig chair.

30 Steering problem

Failure Date: 01/31/2015

Noticeable idle time vibration while stopped at stop sign and 'd' mode. Vibration is so heavy that it makes my legs go numb and uncomfortable.

31 Steering problem

Failure Date: 01/22/2015

I purchased new 2015 Honda crv ex-l 01/21/2015. Only 3 mile on it. Immediately after purchased, the vehicle exhibited severe vibration when the car fully stop and on "d" position. Idle is very low , around 550 rpm, and vehicle just shakes and passenger seat vibrates. Vibrations can be felt through the steering wheel, and create a distraction during driving. Brought it in dealership for checking, they said everything is normal???. This is abnormal compare to others new car. I trust the "Honda" name, but now make me disappointed. I should buy the Toyota rav4 rather than buying this crv. Honda needs to fix this problem ASAP.

32 Steering problem

Failure Date: 01/08/2015

New 2015 Honda Cr-v is experiencing strong vibrations in idle. Felt in seat, passenger seat, steering wheel, gas pedal, middle console, etc. I also feel vibrations through the steering wheel, gas pedal, and car itself while driving at lower speeds. I can even see the passenger-seat back shaking when in idle. Honda acknowledges it's a problem, but do not have a timeframe of when fix will happen. Not sure what damage is being done to car during these high frequency vibrations. How can anything that affects the driveability of car not be a safety concern? hard on the hands to hold on to vibrating steering wheel. Please investigate, these needs to be recalled and fixed ASAP.

33 Steering problem

Failure Date: 01/05/2015

The contact owns a 2015 Honda Cr-v. While driving approximately 70 mph, the steering wheel shook and vibrated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, who determined that the tires needed to be balance and performed all necessary adjustments. The failure recurred several times and the vehicle was taken back to the dealer. The technician was unable to diagnose the failure and notified the manufacturer. The manufacture disclosed to the dealer that the failure was a direct result of a design error, with no known remedy. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 11,800.

34 Steering problem

Failure Date: 12/24/2014

Holding steering wheel, feels like holding on to a vibrating chair when I accelerate, sometimes it shudders and vibrates, once the car hits about 55 mph it calms down. Brought back to toms river Honda 1/17/2015, mechanic, and I went for test . My invoice states: "customer states between 30-40 mph car feels like on it's on a wash board. Cause: don't have fix yet, will keep customer posted, perform force road balance, checked system for updates, checked for d&c (none). "Honda aware of vibration problem, will call engineering dept to discuss problem, still no answers but this is not a saftey issue, ok to drive". Met with NJ Honda tech rep. 1/29/15, went for 1/2 test drive with me. All agreed, yes bad vibration, Honda is aware, more complaints are coming into Honda with vibration. Will speak to engineering again. Invoice states" vibration was experienced on 20 mile road test , approximately 15-50 mph and 12-1500 rpm's variable. Honda rep art e recommended to wait for a fix or up date to come out . Note: snap shots and data taken and also sent to tech line and discussed w/tech line. Engineering is investigating issue". I love the car but not the vibration. I only want an SUV, not car. I have asked Honda to buy back. Honda says dealer should buy back, tr Honda says it should be Honda. I have googled 2015 crv vibration complaints and have found there are hundreds of others with similar complaints. Abc new "7 by your side" did a news story on this problem 2/26/2015. I save $ for 9 years to pay cash for a car, I feel like I have been robbed!.

35 Steering problem

Failure Date: 12/01/2014

Excessive vibrations, one while in drive and stopped, another at all speeds worse when accelerating. At times I feel the vehicle is not stable and I am scared of losing control.
