2 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 04/27/2022

I noticed the car shook at first in park or at a light. I made Honda aware 1 month in at 25k miles and was told it was a common flaw with my year make and model and there was nothing to be done. It progressed over 1 year into vigarously shaking while in reverse. I was driving on the road and my car completely cut off on me without warning. It would restart, the ac blew hot, then cut back off. I was almost hit from behind while traffic kept going. I got out of the car for safety to have it towed to the Honda dealership. While off the tow, the car started back up again and went into drive. However, the check engine light was still on and the shaking was still ongoing. Honda told me they cleared the codes and could find nothing wrong. I made them keep the car. It has now been two week. After about 5 days they told me a list of the following problems: 1. Engine harness had corrosion due to coolant leakage 2. Speed sensor and both transmission warmer coolant hoses with clamps needed repair 3. Transmission side mount 4. Evaporator canister vent shut valve stuck closed 5. Front engine mount is collapsed my warranty company refused to repair issue #1 and #2 due to the corrosion. Honda charged me $1800 to repair the problem. The service manager mentioned in a phone call that my car was salvage while reading an email from his district manager. I can not find out if this is in fact true and the sold me a certified pre owned care under false pretenses. I want to make others aware.

7 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 06/02/2018

I had just returned from the grocery store with one of my daughters. We pulled into my driveway and my 2015 Honda Cr-v ex-l was stopped and my foot on the brake. My car was at a complete stop with the engine running. Before I could put the car in park, the engine suddenly revved up to a very high rpm and lunged forward. Even though my foot was on the break, I was unable to stop the vehicle and the car ran of two different sets of bushes before running into the southeast corner of my house! the driver's side air bag deployed. My daughter was in the front passenger seat and (maybe luckily) her air bag did not deploy. The airbag may be a tanaka airbag. I hit my airbag with such force that the air began to smoke. My daughter's was injured and she suffered a very bloody nose when her head hit the dashboard. I suffered bruises to my abdomen. The force of the crash knocked the plaster off the inside of my kitchen and threw it 10 feet. The studs were knocked off the moorings. Because my house was built in 1929 studs did not brake and the damage was only cosmetic. It is likely that the car is totaled and there will be significant costs in repairing the house.

8 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Was entering a parking space with my foot on the brake pedal. Just as the front wheels were about to touch the curb the engine began to race at high rpms, jumping the cement curb and running over about 40 feet of sidewalk, taking down 2 handicapped parking signs. 12 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 01/05/2017

Car has been stalling in motion (especially in areas of higher speed) and the car has been not starting up. We have been on the interstates when the car has gone from 60 mph to stop all at once. . . Almost killing us. In regards to the start up issue, the lights come on but the engine does not. The battery was just replaced and the dealership will not fix these safety issues. In fact, the managing partner tells his staff to ignore our communication attempts and will not return our calls himself. The service manager refused to fix anything because he says there is nothing wrong with the car after driving it around the dealership parking lot once. Honda corporate will not fix any issues either. This car is a lemon and has been since we bought it in January 2015. These stalling and startup issues have specifically been going on since January 5, 2017.

14 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 12/01/2016

While driving at 80 mph on a highway, the check engine light appeared and the vehicle decreased in speed to 50 mph on its own, although I never removed pressure from the accelerator pedal. The vehicle began to stall and pull back as if it were going to die. The vehicle did not respond when I depressed the accelerator pedal and did not increase speed. I exited the highway, applied the brakes, and came to a complete stop, but when I depressed the accelerator pedal once the traffic light turned green, the vehicle would not accelerate more than 20 mph. The check engine light remained on the entire time. I drove the vehicle to the nearest Honda dealership. The dealership advised that the vehicle was giving misfire codes and they want to keep it overnight to run tests on it. The service advisor said that the vehicle may have gone into "limp" mode, what that is. This happened while the vehicle was in motion on a highway at 80 mph.

16 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 06/07/2016

I went alone to kohls on arizona Ave. I was almost ready to park and almost at a standstill and ready to put the car in park. I remember putting my foot on the break and it seemed stuck and a few seconds later I recall a surge of acceleration and the car would not stop even as I attempted desperately to put my foot on the brake to stop the car. The surge of energy seemed to pull-steer my car to the right and it hit a parked car that was 3 spots to the right as there were no cars in the empty parking spots next to this car. My car almost went sideways and hit the car¿s front passenger side tire area and damaged it pretty badly. I was not able to control the car during this accident. I am concerned that this was a malfunction of the brake or some other operating system. I reviewed with my insurance claims agent my concerns a malfunction of the car breaks or some other system; they took care of the claim but didn¿t provide any guidance how to pursue my concerns re; malfunction: I called american Honda company on June 13th and filed a complaint re; the accident to inform my concerns a malfunction that I feel caused this accident. I was given a case # 04758407 and told that I would be assigned a case manager who will call me within 24hrs. I was called by steven 310/783-2863 on 6/14 and let me know he was my case manager. In spite of many call to set up an apt to have my car evaluated, I have not yet received a call back to coordinate a time to get my car evaluated to see if there was any malfunction during this accident and explain to me how this could have happened w/o a malfunction as the accident is quite bizarre. I googled to see if Honda Cr-v 2015s have had any break malfunctions¿I saw a report that had several incidents almost identical to mine in a parking lot or near parked position.

20 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 07/29/2015

When entering a private elderly housing parking lot to attend a meeting, I was traveling in my 2015 Honda crv at about 5 mph. After slowing for a speed bump, I went toward a parking spot traveling at about 2 mph where I could just pull straight in. When I tried to apply the brake, it was rock solid and vehicle seemed to self accelerate. The vehicle jumped the curb which had a steel drainage plate, and took out a sign knocking it to the ground. A resident at the facility was standing close by and it scared him so bad he took off. Had I been just a few feet closer to him, he would have been hit by my vehicle. The impact with the curb and sign slowed the vehicle to a stop. The bumper, valance, and right fog lamp all have to be replaced. The Honda crv is three months old.

The truck vibrates alot when it comes to a stop,at a traffic light.

24 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 02/18/2015

I bought my Honda Cr-v 2015 touring model December 15,2014 with 2 miles on it. On my way to work in February I was driving on the highway at about 70mph when all of a sudden I felt a jerk on my car, (I thought it was just wind since we were supposed to have some bad winter weather come through) I looked down and my check engine light came on and the speedometer was going down. I pulled over to the shoulder and put my car in park and turned it off and waited a few minutes, it restarted and everything was fine. It has since happened to me two more times.

25 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 01/17/2015

Brand new vehicle on the third trip from home. The hesitation/vibration problem is noticeable (intermittent shuddering as if a wheel is out of alignment and/or the vehicle has just hit a patch of black ice, but related to the newly designed crv transmission, a problem common to all crv 2015 that does not yet have a fix) but what really stunned me was a sudden extremely high rev when going down a small hill. I was braking lightly at the time. (service told me that the transmission downshifts on hills, so, using the brake caused this. ??!!) it didn't last long, but the engine raced so completely out of control that the vehicle did not feel safe, and one had the sense that motion had seized up, although it kept moving. The noise was incredible. It didn't happen for a while, and I assumed it was due to using the brake on a hill (!!??). I stopped using the brake on hills and noticed that the transmission didn't always downshift, sometimes it shifted up as the vehicle gained speed! what to do. . . I brought the vehicle in to service about the vibration issue, on the 28th Jan, and was told that all crv 2015 have this issue and there's no fix yet. I left cheerfully enough, and driving home, the surge/rev happened again, going up a hill, with no use of the brake. I called my salesman, and the next morning returned the vehicle to the dealership and asked for my money back, because the car is not safe to drive. He wouldn't give my money back until this problem is proven by a Honda canada engineer on this or on another crv 2015 vehicle. I left the car there. Canadians-- I need your help if you have this problem! see the crv list and find me there. I owned it for 20 days, a little over 1000k (50 miles). The surge/rev problem only occurred twice, on winding hilly roads. The vibration/hesitation problem happens anywhere, but is more pronounced on winding hilly rds.

26 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 11/12/2014

As I was trying to accelerate, the vehicle stopped responding. This has happened about 7 times now since I bought the vehicle new in oct. 2014. It happens as I give the vehicle gas to accelerate - it seems to just stop accelerating - it lasts about 2 seconds, and then seems to recover. There is the sensation that the vehicle has shutdown/shutoff, but does not actually stall. Vehicle was taken back to the dealer who said they found nothing wrong. It typically happens between 50-65 mph, but has happened 1x under 15mph (was in a parking lot at that time). The first time it happened I had pulled into a high-speed lane, gave the car gas, but it just seemed to go dead for about 2 seconds.

27 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 10/28/2014

Tl- the contact owns a 2015 Honda Cr-v. The contact stated that there was a strong vibration from the engine which caused the vehicle to fail to idle appropriately upon accelration. The contact mentioned that at highway speeds of over 60 mph the engine seemed as if the rpms did not race to support the speed and there was a lag as the vehicle swayed back and forth. The authorized dealer was notified of the failure more than once and they were not able to replicate and diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and was not able to provide a remedy. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure recurred from the point of milage accumulation from 0. Dyd.
