The contact owns a 2016 Honda Cr-v. While driving 10 mph and making a right turn, the steering failed and the power steering indicator illuminated. The vehicle was towed to Honda of ithaca (315 elmira rd, ithaca NY, 14850) where it was diagnosed that rodents had eaten the soy based wiring. The contact stated that the wiring and rack needed to be replaced and the codes needed to be cleared. Additionally, the contact was advised to purchase mouse magic, peppermint candy, and moth balls to repel the rodents. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The failure mileage was 10,911.
