The driver-side seat belt does not lock as of 11/4/24.
The driver's seat belt became stuck in the unused position and we were unable to pull it out to extend it to the locking mechanism. This put the driver at risk in that there was no usable seat belt, and therefore the driver would be unprotected in the event of a crash. The vehicle is currently at the Honda service department, and the technician believes there is something wrong with the ratcheting system, so he has ordered new parts. There were no previous warning systems, however the alert sound did go off that the seat belt was not in use when the car was turned on.
Driver’s seatbelt will not click in place and my VIN is not showing a recall. The control screen does not work correctly. It often goes bright and makes a dinging sound or won’t work at all.
Driver's seatbelt seems to not always fasten completely.
1- for the engine, I can smell strong fuel inside the car cabinet. The smell sometimes is so strong that I get dizzy and I need to open the window till the car warm up. Happens while in motion, and stationary 2- for the seat built, the hook makes huge noise, and sometimes while hard breaking gets lose and left me unbuckled. You can hear the noise while stationary and the belt get's lose while braking to a full stop.
I am unable to seaat five people because the rear seat belt does not fasten. I thought this was a 5 seater car, but it seems to be a four seater. Visitors aattempted to sit in the rear but found the seat belts were not functioning.
The seat belt retractor for the front seat passenger side doesn't always release to extend.
While stopped in a chick fil a drive through, the seatbelt tightened down on my 11 year old and would not release. He unbuckled it, but it was wrapped around him and the belt would not allow you to pull down from the ceiling to give slack. It would not move more than an inch and was constricting his chest and waist area. I turned the car off and on and it would not release. I read the owners manual and there was no way to emergency release. I had to obtain a pair of scissors and cut the belt to get him out. It is felt this is a safety issue. He could not get out of the belt and the car was not even moving. Pictures are available.
While riding in front passenger seat, my daughter tried to pull the belt from the ceiling to loosen it. The belt would not allow her to loosen it and was locked down. She had to unbuckle it to loosen it. The car was not stopped and had not had brakes applied. We were on the interstate. This is a safety issue. It should not be locked unless there was hard braking. She was unsecured when she had to unbuckle it to loosen it.
I recently purchased a 2017 Honda Cr-v with the intent of using it as a 5 passenger vehicle. However, the rear seat belt does not allow to safely buckle 3 children in the back even though it was purchased as a 5 passenger vehicle. There are 3 seat belts provided but they cross over each other in a manner that makes the seat belts twist and does not safely buckle 3 children in at one time.
Cannot buckle driver passenger seatbelt and middle passenger seatbelt at same time due to placement of buckles in seat.
Driver seatbelt locked in retracted position. Had to be replaced by dealer. (occurred while stopped and parked (of course)).
When collision mitigation braking system engaged, the car immediately stopped. The seat belt did not lock, causing the driver to lurch forward and resulted in the driver hitting their head on the steering wheel.
Tl the contact owns a 2017 Honda Cr-v. While the contact's vehicle was stopped, it was rear ended and caused a chain reaction crash. The contact stated that the front driver and passenger seat belts failed to work as intended. The contact stated that the impact caused the passenger to be thrown forward due to the seat belt failing to securely restrain her. The contact also stated that the front passenger side seat back fractured. The driver was also thrown forward and his chest made contact with the steering wheel. The contact stated that the driver side seat belt failed to retract and the air bags failed to deploy. The passenger sustained injuries to the back and pelvis. The driver sustained a back injury. Both occupants were transported to the hospital for medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to an independent facility. The vehicle was not repaired. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
Driver's seat belt connection fell out of the wall while car was parked and driver was putting on seat belt.
"takata recall" 2017 Honda crv was rear ended by another vehicle on 4/11/18. The seat belts did not retract. The passenger in the car struck her head on the dashboard of the vehicle. This crv has been in the repair shop since 4/17/18. Informed by the service provider that none of the seat belts retract properly.
2017 Honda crv. Consumer writes in regards to an issue with the small latch plate anchor on the seat belt buckle. The consumer stated the manufacturer was notified and advised the seat belt was operating as designed.
I purchased this Cr-v new from the Honda dealership in sarassota, FL in Feb 2017. O/s srs light keeps coming on. It is an intermittent problem. When it comes on, it stays on until the car is turned off. This has been going on for at least 3 months. I had started taking pictures of the actual meter panel speedometer with the o/s srs light on every day to show the frequency and magnitude of this issue. On 11/11/17, stored codes were deleted a few times at bradenton, FL dealership with no success. "system operating as designed" is what I was told by Honda dealership. On 11/13 - 11/21/17, o/s srs light came on after codes cleared. Returned to Honda dealership in bradenton, FL. They checked pin fit at air bag connector and srs unit. Continuity was confirmed. No mouse or water damage. Driver's seat air bag was replaced per Honda tech line. The dealership was in possession of our Cr-v during these dates. On 12/13/17, o/s srs light keeps coming on. The bradenton, FL dealership. Scanned for srs codes (same as before, 'b0020-13"), open or increased resistance on the left side. Reviewed data withe tech line and they had dealership replace the srs control unit. Initialized seat weight sensor to verify repair was completed. Tech drove vehicle 85 miles to confirm repair was completed. Tech line ref#4044223 on 12/14/17 the o/s srs light came on still. Due to our vacation from sarasota, FL to ohio for christmas, the bradenton Honda dealership could not provide a loaner for any out of state driving. So, we drove this crv to ohio with the o/s srs light on for 95% of our 2600 mile trip. Negotiated with am Honda and bradenton, FL dealership to bring Cr-v back on 1/8/18. A Honda 'technician specialist' is being flown in from torrence, CA to fix it. My wife and I retired from Honda of America mfg inc with 50 combined years of manufacturing service building Hondas.
The left rear and center rear seat belt buckles, are opposite of what they should be. This arrangement makes it impossible for the left rear passenger, to buckle up if the center seat person is buckled in, or a car seat is in place. Contacted my Honda service department and they forwarded my complaint to the district representative, his response was he is aware of the issue but there is no fix for the problem. I did some research and found that the Acura rdx is the same platform as the Honda Cr-v. So I visited the nearest Acura dealership, the seat belt buckle arrangement was correct on that Acura rdx. Looks like the anchor point and the buckles are exactly the same as the ones that are in my Honda Cr-v. Would be willing to bet that the Acura seat belt assembly would solve the rear seat belt issue on these Honda's, the assembly is only $66. 00! why should I have to do that when it wasn't my mistake in designing it.
The backseat seat belts are unsafe. The middle passenger's belt crosses over the left passenger's belt to latch. Very unsafe and inconvenient. Waiting for a recall.
The contact owns a 2017 Honda Cr-v. The contact stated the seat belts for the rear middle and left passenger seats were switched, which made it difficult for the passengers to buckle their seat belts when the middle seat was occupied, especially by a safety seat. The contact took the vehicle to the ralph schomp Honda dealer where it was determined that the seat belts were anchored down, which prevented the dealer from switching the seat belt buckles. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the placement of the seat belts was approved by NHTSA safety standards and could not be altered. The manufacturer opened case number: 06136375. The approximate failure mileage was 293.
Where left rear passenger attaches seat belt & where center rear passenger attaches seatbelt from headliner, the fasteners in the seat are switched. If center passenger buckles up first or if carseat is in center position it is nearly impossible for left rear passenger to buckle up or unbuckle. This is due to the attachment points being switched when designed & or manufactured. Honda dealer says the connections are in proper location & belt is operating as designed. This will most likely cause one of five passengers in this vehicle to not be able to buckle up or unbuckle in an emergency.
The rear left and middle seat belts overlap. The vehicle is advertised as a 5 seater vehicle but cannot safely be used for 5 passengers, or with a car seat in either of those seats with a passenger in the other one.
The contact owns a 2017 Honda Cr-v. While attempting to use the rear passenger side seat belt, it was discovered that in order to latch and secure the buckle, the belt had to under lap the rear seat center belt. The issue made it very difficult to lock and unlock the seat belt. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (autonation Honda in westminster, CO), but the cause of the failure was unable to be determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 6,000.
Rear passenger seat behind driver and middle passenger seat belt fasteners are flipped. No one can sit behind the driver and use a seat belt.
The rear center passenger's left seat belt buckle anchor is reversed making it nearly impossible to properly buckle 3 passengers in the back seat. This is a safety hazard as my center passengers, finding it a herculean feat when seated, often decline to buckle up. I've included two photos of this buckle showing this condition. As seen when buckled w/o a passenger, the belts overlap. Because of this the center passenger's body prevents access to the buckle as it is hidden behind the strap of the left rear passenger. I understand that Honda designed it this way to provide wider seating for the left rear passenger. However, this design is dangerous and is unacceptable and will eventually lead to fatalities. Also I'm told that the Honda accura's design is correct.
Rear passenger seat belt attachment points safety hazard for left rear passenger: the connection points for the center rear passenger and left rear passenger cross causing the left passenger to not have access to the release button or ability to properly connect their seat belt if the center passenger secures their seat belt first. Should the left passenger want to disconnect their seat belt it is extremely difficult unless the center passenger disconnects their seat belt first. I contacted the Honda dealer I purchased the vehicle from and they said there was nothing they could do. I contacted Honda customer care line at 1-800-999-1009 and was informed no fix was available, but they would document the issue.
My brand new 2017 crv touring appears to have the detachable anchor for the 2nd row center seat belt crossed with the 2nd row left seat belt buckle. This configuration causes the center belt and the left seat belt to cross one another and also makes it difficult for the left seat passenger to connect or disconnect their seat belt with the center passenger buckled in. This configuration does not allow the person sitting behind the driver to wear their seat belt when my child's infant seat is buckled into the center as the buckle cannot be accessed. This is a huge safety concern as I travel frequently with my infant daughter, son, and son's friend in the back seat. There have been multiple other complaints about this which can be googled. Something needs to be done here.
Nothing has happened yet, but the rear seatbelts in our crv have a buckle point that appears to be installed backward. When brought to the attention of the dealer they said that's how they are. The middle seating position seatbelt, which has two buckle points , buckles on the outside portion of the fastener system while the left seating position buckles on the inside of the fastener system. In the event of need for rapid exit, the left rear seat fastener is blocked by the middle seat seatbelt.
