1 Lane Keep Automatic Steering problem

Failure Date: 05/07/2024

The contact owns a 2018 Honda Cr-v. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 35 mph, he noticed the steering wheel binding. The contact stated that a few days later, while his wife was driving it, the lane departure warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed with a steering gearbox malfunction. The vehicle was not repair. The contact related the failure with the technical service bulletin: 23-037 (2022–23 civic eps gearbox replacement); however, the vehicle was not covered under TSB. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure however, no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 49,000.
