All lights shown on monitor. Adas system would not be functional. Went to dealer and checked for causes. Recommended to replace fuel injector, spark plug, and battery. Since battery was replaced in two months, vehicle only did the checking. However, the condition kept on after a few days. Spark plug was replaced a day before yesterday and the condition came back yesterday. Researched online and seemed like fuel injector needs to be clean or replaced. The repair cost over $2,000 and the condition is not safe. It is often shown up when you park and then going to start.
I just filled a report but on October 3rd @ 3:34pm the same thing happened where while in cruise control the car just brakes and there was no reason for that to happen.
When vehicle starts it shakes for a few seconds then is fine. When I drive and give it gas my car stutters and feels like it wants to shut off. On the highway with acceleration the check engine light comes on blinking and the car loses power. The codes read misfire I replaced the sparks plugs and coils 4 time already just for it to do it again a couple months later. I read this is a common problem and unsafe Honda needs to do something.
June 2, 2025 –started slowing for stoplight and left turn. Car again was not slowing down as expected when braking so I pressed harder on the brake pedal. It slowed down then but I didn’t go to a complete stop because traffic was moving. Instead, I let the car creep a bit while waiting for an opening to turn left. I then drove a couple of blocks to a 4-way stop where the revving started again when the car came to a full stop. I put it into park, and it went to 8000 rpm. I turned it off and back on—again back to 8000 rpm. Wouldn’t come out of park. Turned off again and back on—same thing. Turned off and took my foot off of the brake. The car lurched forward quite a bit before stopping—guess the parking gear took hold then. I started the car again, and the rpm was normal. This is the second occurrence. Occurred first time in late June, 2024. - braking and speed control affected - car trying to accelerate when applying brake can lead to accident harming me and potentially others - problem has occurred three times over the past year - vehicle was checked and diagnostics run by dealership in July, 2024. Nothing found, was not able to recreate the scenario. No diagnostics available. - no warnings, messages, or other symptoms other than car not slowing as expected. Took car back to dealership on 6/6/2025 who reminded me that they didn't find anything last time. Am taking it to different dealer for a check this time.
Driving the car and it lasked power to drive. I could not accelerate. Check the codes code said it was a turbo issue called dealership. Got an appointment. Dealership says it's the turbo and it's twenty seven hundred dollars to repair.
In April 2025 my crv had issues with acceleration. The speed reduced all of a sudden and car couldn't go more than 5 mph, so I took it to the repiar shop. The mechanic told me that cylinder #2 misfired. He replaced the spark plugs and the ignition coil. A few days later after driving for a few miles "stop driving when safe, engine temperature too hot" sign came up. I stopped driving immidiately and got the car towed to the repair shop. After testing the car the mechanic told me that the head gasket leaked and the coolant is mixing with the lubricant. He told me that there is damage to the engine so the engine need to be replaced. I was driving with kids in the car and I believe it compromised the safety of my family when the speed came down all of a sudden on the road and the car stopped accelerating.
Driving I would lose all power like inwas out of gas. Would let it sit for a few minutes and it would run normally for a while then stall on the side of the road. Happened 2 times on the interstate and one on a back road.
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? how was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? the car had everyt warning light come on the dashboard- this happened multiple times to many people it's been widely reported online. Honda is covering it up and not doing anything about it. . . . . Every safety feature in teh car ceases to work! and does not operate- the car stalled in the middle of the highway! Honda is aware and hiding this issue. It's affective 2017-2019 crv. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? yes! Unknown my car wasn’t getting any gas stuck in traffic. Have complained to the dealership about the recall and the problem I was having I was given the run around about replacing the fuel pump.
While driving on highway , I attempted to accelerate to pass , as I did all warning lights came on and I lost ability to accelerate. The car went into “limp mode “ . Took it to local mechanic, the to Honda dealer . I was told I need a new engine , at a cost of over $16k .

Be honest, I'm unsure of what systems are failing, but there are multiple. The dash shows vehicle stability assist (vsa problem), hill start assist, adaptive cruise control problem, collision mitigation system problem, road departure mitigation system problem, power steering (eps) problem, electric parking brake problem, emissions system problem, brake system problem. *these systems are integral to safe driving for me and my family, even though I can drive the vehicle. I cannot use cruise control, lane-keep assist, or brake hold, and the car is not handling like it was. It tends to be harder to control. * the warning lamps and messages are on and indicated in the first point. This happened on Monday while my wife was driving, and all those systems shut off. When she parked she did an online search of what the issue might be and found multiple youtube videos of Honda owners for different models and years with the same problem. One remedy required a reboot of the electrical system in accessory mode. That worked for a day, but now the errors won't clear, and we're unable to use the vehicle's safety features.
The contact leased a 2018 Honda Cr-v. The contact stated that the vehicle was consuming an excessive amount of fuel. The contact stated that whenever the fuel level reached the half-way mark, the fuel then quickly became depleted. There were no warning lights illuminated. When the accelerator pedal was depressed, the vehicle was slow to respond. The contact stated that the brakes was making an abnormal squealing noise. Additionally, there was grinding noise while driving up and down a hill. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 23v858000 (fuel system, gasoline) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The dealer stated that the vehicle was working as designed. The contact called another local dealer, first team Honda (3444 western branch blvd. , chesapeake, va 23321), and was informed that the failure might be due to the brake pads and rotors. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 96,000.
Several times, the vehicle will brake without an obstacle in the road. It is extremely scary - at one time, it forced me to react unexpectedly and almost got into an accident. This is scary.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda Cr-v. The contact stated that while driving 50 mph, the accelerator pedal was depressed, and the vehicle accelerated and decelerated without warning. The contact added fuel injector cleaner. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 23v858000 (fuel system, gasoline); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact called another local dealer, hillside Honda (139-07 hillside Ave. , jamaica, NY 11435); but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000. This has happened about 3 times since I purchased the vehicle in end of 2018. While I was driving out of no where the car will just brake, there is nothing in front of me or blocking me and one time I was going about 40 mph and the others were when I was going about 30 and 50 so it’s been a range. Luckily every time I’ve been driving there has not been anyone behind me but for sure if someone was behind me, I possibly would’ve gotten rear ended with how fast the car stopped. Other times the car will beep the brake indicator at me, but not stop the car just telling me I need to apply the brakes but there’s nothing in front of me or around me.
Hello nhts, I have been dealing with my vehicle stalling & losing power while driving on the freeway. This is a very dangerous issue with my Honda crv. I have had this happen several times now and it was reported to Honda. Honda has not yet placed this issue on recall status. This needs to get looked at before someone gets injured or killed.
Emergency braking system is activated while the car is on road in 30+ miles speed and the car lost it control. Managed to stop it after driving a car for almost a mile long and then applying the break with hard attempt. This happened twice one around 10:30 pm on Jul 29th, 2022 and the subsequent day when I try to pull my car out of drive way. I decided to call my insurance for towing the car and sent it to my regular service provider battison Honda, (address) 8700 northwest expy, oklahoma city, ok 73162.
In early April 2022 the body control module went bad. A replacement was ordered, and is still unavailable (Honda 38809-tmm-a21). This rendered the car unable to be started, unless the battery was first disconnected and then reconnected (as advised by Honda service). However, this results in several error lights, including emergency braking, hill start assist, lane keeping assist, collision warning systems, blind spot systems, as well as non-driving systems like operation of the windows, and the associated symptom of these systems working intermittently, or not at all. Honda still has not provided a reliable estimate for the part to be made available, despite escalating the situation to their corporate level. I am aware of other Honda models of the same year having bcm (body control module) issues and a recall being current and active.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda Cr-v. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle unintentionally accelerated. Additionally, the rpm was fluctuating. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.
Bought car end of November used 10o18 crv breaks have come on hard without me applying them was in cruise control. Frist time other cars were nearby by not in danger plenty of distance between us. However third time no cars were in front, coming from the front in opposite lane and none to my rear, thank god for set belts!.
At times when I press down on the accelerator, the car tries to cut off! I have had times where I have come close to getting hit by another car. Don’t know if anyone else is having this problem but I really like my car. I am scared that I am going to get hit when the car tries to stall when I push down on gas pedal. Thank you for taking the time to hear about my situation!.
We were driving across florida on 1-10 on final leg of a 3-day trip. At 73 miles per hour the center display went crazy. We got in short order an acc warning and numerous other alarms in the driver information center under the speedometer. This continued for a minute. After slowing down and pulling off the road and shutting down car, the problem went away. The following Wednesday , the center vehicle display in city traffic went crazy beeping and flashing brighter then darker. The brightness setting slider bar came on and would not go away. The radio signal changed channels and volumes. A loud beeping similiar to the verification tone when inputting settings was going off repeatedly. Nothing stopped the above warnings until my wife arrived home and we shut down the engine. The only way to stop all was to shutdown the center display completely.
I was driving straight in an open street, no obstacles at all. However, my vehicle started beeping and slammed the brakes to a complete stop. I was almost thrown out of my seat but thank god I had my seatbelt on. I checked my dash camera footage aswell no sign of obstacle, nothing at all. I believe its the collision mitigation braking system that got activated for no reason. I have my dash cam footage to support my claim.
A bunch of sensors including the radar, lane departure, collision detection was stolen from my 2018 Honda crv without the central alarm getting triggered. The black box below the Honda logo was broken, and the sensor/connectors were pulled out. The vehicle was parking in my driveway. Bridgewater NJ police complain #20154646.
From 3,500 to now 9,500mi 5 seperate occasions sensor suite has quit functioning for from 10mi to a 100mi till come back on. In all but 1 time (which recurred going to dealer) by coming to stop or restarting engine has returned to normal. Still have throttle, brake, gas guage, lights etc but no functions that require pushbutton or sensing functions. All happened while at hyw speeds. 1 time car totally quit (like shut off with switch) for a sec free rolling at 65mph then came on where left off.
Whenever I start my car in the morning or after being parked for hours, the car does not move past 10-15mph even when I step harder on the accelerator. The car will sometimes come to a complete stop in the middle of the road when I step on the accelerator. I have to turn the engine on and off a couple of times as well as drive around slowly before the accelerator will respond.
I had just turned on highway and was accelerating to speed - at about 45 mph the auto braking engaged fairly sharply and something flashed on dash and beeped (too fast for me to read) and then it stopped. Acc & lkas were on but not engaged at the time. Sunny day and no vehicles around anywhere.
While driving north on route 43 approaching route 60 in lake forrest, illinois on November 5, 2019 my Honda Cr-v suddenly stopped. And, I mean completely stopped. For no apparent reason. Fortunately there were no vehicles behind me. I was only traveling at 35 mph. I believe this occurrence would be classified as a false positive error. It was raining lightly at the time. My only witness is my wife. I bought this car primarily to drive my grandchildren to school and now have lost confidence in it's ability for safety. This problem hasn't occurred again since November 2019 but I don't know if I can trust our lives to a computer in charge of this car. This is a computer programming error that will ultimately be responsible for the loss of life. Other computer assisted driving vehicles don't have this problem and they must have tested and overcome this specific performance issue. Does Tesla or mobileye have this issue? is it only Honda?.
Stalling while I was traveling in traffic. Oil dip stick smells like gasoline is "overfull" on oil mark.
Tl-the contact owns a 2018 Honda Cr-v. The contact stated that the vehicle has the crash mitigation system. While going 30 mph there were two steel plates in the road and he started to brake near a construction zone. The crash mitigation system suddenly stopped the vehicle almost causing a rear end collision with the vehicle that was behind the contact. The contact had not called either the dealer or manufacturer since the accident just happened today. The contact thinks it's a design flaw since the same issue happened with his son in the same model vehicle. . The failure mileage was 15,700. Tf.
On two occasions, the car has unexpectedly and without any reason, braked to a virtual stop, as though there were a vehicle directly in front of me, while driving in the city on a road going about 40mph. However, there were no cars anywhere near my vehicle. In addition, my car will also unexpectedly beep and signal to me that I must brake, again, without a car being in front of me, again, while in motion at approximately 35mph. The Honda dealer claims they have looked into my complaints, which I see as potentially life threatening, particularly if the car brakes on a fast moving interstate, and they are "unable to replicate the issue or find any sensor issues. " the fact that this vehicle is operating correctly is patently untrue and the occurances regarding the sensor "brake" messaging is becoming more and more frequent.
The collision mitigation system part of Honda sensing will automatically and randomly engage while driving, causing the breaks to be self applied abruptly even when there is nothing in front of the car. This is extremely dangerous and almost caused multiple accidents. Honda doesn't believe there is a problem. This has happened multiple times already.
On June 24, 2019, I was approaching an area on a chicago, IL, residential city street where a crew had placed metal plates in the road to cover up a hole or something similar. It was a straight stretch of road on a slight downhill slope on a sunny early evening, with the sun behind the vehicle. I was probably traveling about 20 mph. As I approached the metal plates, the vehicle's automatic breaking kicked in and brought the vehicle to an abrupt, immediate stop. The breaks squealed and you could smell rubber from the tires burning. Luckily, there was no car behind me. Once we came to a complete stop, I tapped the brake and the car started rolling forward. There were no further incidents since then. A similar incident had occurred a few months ago but in that case the vehicle did not come to a complete stop. The brakes activated but disengaged before the car came to a stop. That was on a slight uphill slope, however. , going through an intersection. I didn't think much of it until this second incident happened.
