My 2019 Honda Cr-v, which has the 1. 5 liter turbo engine, with 78,000 started up with the dashboard lit up like a xmas tree and reported approx. A dozen faults of all safety features epb, lkas, emissions, etc. It was diagnosed by lester glenn Honda in wall, NJ with oil dilution caused by the leaky fuel injectors. The mechanic noted tdc p0172 - system too rich & p0301- cylinder 1 misfire and all fuel injectors failed a/f test. This vehicle had its fuel pump replaced earlier this year pursuant to the Honda recall for this (wondering if related). The same underlying problem was subject to a safety recall for the 2017-2018 model years, but the defect was not included for my 2019 model year even though it's the same 1. 5l turbo motor and there are numerous complaints from customers on the same exact issue. I was quoted over $2300 since it was past the warranty period (8k miles past the extended 7/70k emissions warranty that would have covered this 100%). Not only is this premature failure of critical engine component making the engine run very rough with a sudden and severe loss of powers, it produces a safety hazard of a direct rear-end crash risk due to the inability to maintain a safe operating speed. This is a significant expense for a defect Honda is already aware of. I believe this is a manufacturing defect that should be fully covered by Honda, along with any related systems affected by this issue. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate this widespread defect affecting 2017–2019 Cr-v models and issue a recall. I have not had it repaired yet as I asked the dealer to contact Honda corporate and ask for a goodwill/good faith warranty.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Cr-v. The contact stated that while her son was driving approximately 25 mph and turning left onto another street, the instrument cluster illuminated with several unknown warning lights, and the vehicle lost motive power. The driver was able to coast the vehicle off the road. The engine was still running, but while depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle failed to respond. The contact and her husband picked her son up and saw a trail of dark fluid leading up to where the vehicle was stopped. There was a puddle and another trail of dark fluid underneath the vehicle, draining from the front of the vehicle. The contact’s son had heard an abnormal popping sound when the vehicle lost motive power. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle with transmission failure. The local dealer was contacted and advised to tow the vehicle to their location. The vehicle was diagnosed by the dealer, and it was determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and advised the contact that there were no other options to repair the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
Vehicle began making noise when driving. Took to Honda and they discovered a bad bearing in the transmission. Car is regularly serviced and at 78k miles. Car needs a new transmission.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Cr-v. The contact stated while attempting to shift into reverse, the vehicle hesitated and shifted out of gear independently. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 23v858000 (fuel system, gasoline); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but was unable to confirm when parts would be available for the recall repair. The failure mileage was 11,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
At approximately 33,188 miles, an “awd system problem” warning appeared on the instrument cluster of my 2019 Honda cr?v awd. Darrell waltrip Honda in nashville, TN scanned the vehicle and retrieved dtc c1851?1e, which indicates a rear differential pump motor high?current fault. The dealer misinterpreted this code and advised that the awd control unit (part no. 48310?5tg?h52) needed replacement, but stated the vehicle was safe to drive so repairs could be completed at my home dealership in lexington, ky. At don jacobs Honda in lexington, ky, the same dtc c1851?1e was correctly interpreted as a failure of the rear differential pump motor, which was then replaced under warranty. No awd control unit replacement was required. Honda service bulletin 23?031 (“awd light dtc c1851?1e / dtc c1851?18 stored”) documents this rear differential pump motor issue for 2020–2021 cr?v awd models. My vehicle is a 2019 cr?v awd with the same dtc and failure mode, suggesting that this defect is not limited to 2020–2021 model years. I am submitting this complaint so that NHTSA is aware of this similar failure on a 2019 vehicle and can evaluate whether the affected model?year range should be expanded.
My sister was driving on a highway going about 65 mph, and the rear cv axle suddenly snapped. A Honda dealership inspected the vehicle; they determined the root cause to be the rear differential engine loosing power, causing strain on the rear axle. There were no warning that the differential engine lost power.
Shutter grille problem power reduced.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Cr-v. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the vehicle idled extremely rough. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a misfire in cylinder #1. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to technical service bulletin: 19-037. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.
While driving the car at highway speed the vehicle experienced a complete loss of power to all essential functions. The engine shutdown and there was no steering and loss of some of the brake functions. Multiple warnings started showing ( too many to list here ). The car came to a stop partially in the highway and we experienced several near misses by passing vehicles before we could get enough assistance to push the vehicle out of the roadway. Since this incident a simple search has shown that this is a very common problem with this vehicle. It appears that it could be a problem with the computer software. This problem has a very high potential for serious injury or death when it occurs while driving at highway speeds. Please look into this issue as soon as possible.
I have a 2019 Honda crv, purchased new on guam from triple j Honda (tamuning) on Jan 2020. As of may 2023, my car has about 32,000 miles but my car began having trouble starting [engine made sputtering(?) noises when turning the key] that morning. Then, while driving in traffic, the car had stalled/stopped working in the middle of rush hour (around 9am) traffic!!! thank the lord, though, the traffic light had just turned red so all the other drivers were slowing down around me! I tried over & over again, but the car wouldn't start! so, the police had to stop/redirect traffic and also helped me push my car to a safe area. Almost all the warning signals on my dashboard were lit on, so I wasn't sure what caused the problem. The engine warning light was also on, so I had a towing company take my car home to replace with a new Honda battery. After placing a new Honda car battery (bought at triple j tamuning), it still had difficulty starting, made sputtering noises, and was drivable for only 2-3 feet, then it died again! I had to tow my car again but to triple j Honda (tamuning) to diagnose the problem. The service advisor told me that the reason why my car won't start is because "you have a major problem with your fuel pump. " I researched online and found that 2018-2019 Honda crv had safety recalls for the fuel pumps. So, I searched the NHTSA & owners. Honda. Com websites whether there's a safety recall for my car; but there's no recall showing based on my VIN. Is it true that more cars are being still being added or owners notified later about the safety recalls? this 2019 Honda crv is the only car available to make deliveries/pick up some supplies for my (very small: me & my mom) family business. So, we really do need this car working reliably ASAP. If triple j Honda says that I have to pay for the fuel pump replacement because there's no safety recall for my car's VIN, what can/should I do? how can I know or be notified whether my car will get a safety recall? thank.
The car was running perfectly fine we were going to load some things into the trunk my wife was backing up and the car began to shake. All the sensors were in error: power steering, brakes system, high beams, tire pressure, tpms, engine light and some other sensor. The emergency brake was activated and we were unable to remove it, the brake light was flashing on the dashboard. The vehicle turned off and wouldn’t turn on. The vehicle had its battery checked and was fine. The vehicle has been taken to a Honda dealership for diagnostic testing.
This is a reproducible software glitch that can be consistently triggered by bringing the car to a stop on a slippery surface, and then flooring the gas pedal to spin the wheels with the transmission in d. After the wheels have spun, the transmission shifts erratically while driving until the car is restarted.

On 2/7/2020 I was operating my crv, made a left turn into driveway of tavern/restaurant, 1080 e. Philadelphia Ave. , gilbertsville, PA. 19525 and pulled into the first parking space about 10 feet from street. I slowed down to almost a stop approx. 2 feet from concrete parking block, my foot was on the brake and engine accelerated very high causing the vehicle to jump the parking block and striking the restaurant wall. Approx. 8 feet from parking block. My wife asked me what I was doing and I pointed to my right foot on the brake. No one was hurt and very minimal damage to wall. There was a police report to douglas twp. Pd. I spoke to piazza Honda dealership where vehicle was towed to and manager said that I most likely had my foot half on brake and half on gas pedal. I also gave same story to allstate insurance. I requested that hey check the black box in vehicle and both said they could not. My vehicle was repaired after $9. 000. 00 estimate was written. I was so afraid to drive the vehicle again and I traded it in to piazza Honda without leaving their business after it was repaired. I have been driving for 60 years and never had my foot half on brake a nd half on gas pedal. The brake and gas pedal are separated by at least 3 inches. If it was on both pedals, I am sure the brakes would have screeched. The vehicle was in the shop at piazza Honda 4 days prior to the accident for PA. Vehicle inspection and during the exam they told me that the left front strut was leaking and they installed a new one. The vehicle was only 8 months old with 11,000 miles on it. .

Vehicle was backed into garage to towel dry after washing. Vehicle was placed in park, turned engine off and I exited the vehicle. After collecting drying towels I proceeded to lock vehicle (confirmed by beep) and started to enter my home when I noticed vehicle beginning to roll out of my garage. I could not catch it before it rolled down my drive and across my street into a tree damaging front end of vehicle. When I reached vehicle and unlocked it to enter it was still in park. I then started vehicle and backed it up (dragging front bumper) into my garage.
