On 6/16/2025 I was driving home and my car dinged and a light came up on my dash all wheel drive system problem and felt funny. I was almost home and when turning off and back on it went off. Two days later I was almost home and the same thing and did not drive right. I got it to a Honda dealer and they determined it was the rear differential pump motor based on the code. They replaced it yesterday and within 5 miles threw another code, which was stated that the full rear differential was needed. After some research of the all wheel drive system problem it appears there are a lot of people out there with crv's that are having this issue. My vehicle has less than 41,000 miles on it and should not have gone out. I also noticed when I googled rear differential for 2020 crv's that the NHTSA is reviewing a case for this issue. I am thankful that I have extended warranty and will cover the repairs but I feel that this should be a recall and that Honda should take care of it instead of extended warranty. Please review this issue with crv's and let me know if a recall is possible to be implemented.
All of the warning lights appeared on the dash. Car runs fine and does not impact driving. Battery has been tested and it's in working condition. Now the problem has gone away but this seems like an issue that should be addressed with Honda, at no charge. I looked the problem up online and multiple inquiries from customers. Do the right thing Honda. Treat this has a recall and take care of your loyal customers.
There is an unrepaired recall and for some reason until now the dealership can’t get the parts they supposedly need to get it fixed.
My paint is flaking off. I contacted the dealership and Honda was was told to buy touch up paint. Honda then refused to address it and told me to file a complaint with you if they recall I will be notified.
I get a random warning to brake when nothing is in front of me. It doesn't happen often, but it happens. P. S. I can not answer the questions below for some unknown reason. The dates vary and the car had approximately 30,000 miles.
Hi. I have gone to my car dealership on 9/12/2024 and called Honda corporation in October 2024 for an update when my car’s recall can be serviced and at both times they tell me that not enough parts are available to service my car’s recall. This is horrible customer service that a possible life and death recall can affect my situation because Honda is not taking responsibility in producing enough parts fast enough to resolve this recall. Recall number: 24v-064 for 2020 Honda crv hybrids.
On July 25, 2024, at approximately 2:30 pm I was driving on nm 528 on my way to the airport. I was driving at about 50 miles per hour when I suddenly heard an explosion as if a window had shattered. I looked all around my vehicle to see if a window was broken but I did not see anything. I continued driving and, as I entered I-25 going south, I heard another explosion, again as if a window had shattered. There were no other vehicles near me on either occasion. I continued driving to the airport, picked up my wife, and on the way home I happened to open the inside cover to the sunroof. I saw the sunroof was shattered but there were no shards of glass inside the car. The explosions seem to have thrown the glass shards outside the vehicle. See my photos. I believe my safety was put in jeopardy since I could have lost control of my vehicle upon hearing the explosions. Also, when returning home, my wife and I could have been injured from falling shards of glass when I opened the cover to the sunroof. I reported this incident to my local Honda dealer and I received an appointment date of August 13, 2024 for possible servicing. The service advisor told me that a manager would make a determination at the time of service as to what Honda will do to remedy my problem. No one at the Honda dealer inspected the damage, nor have the police nor insurance representatives done so. There were no warning alerts from the vehicle itself prior to the incident. You may inspect my vehicle, just let me know prior to August 13.
I am filing a complaint against Honda regarding the infotainment system in my Honda Cr-v. When I connect an android device, the system crashes consistently. Despite informing Honda of this issue, their response has been dismissive. They stated, “we tested it with an iphone and found no problems,” completely disregarding the issue with android devices. Safety concern: the infotainment system freezing when an android device is connected poses a significant safety issue. Functional infotainment is crucial for navigation, hands-free communication, and other essential functions while driving. Frequent crashes disrupt these functionalities, potentially leading to distracted driving and increased risk of accidents. Honda’s failure to address this problem compromises driver and passenger safety. Misleading advertising: Honda advertises that their infotainment system works with android devices, which is not my experience. This misleading advertising is deceptive and unfair to consumers. Warranty information: my vehicle is under a certified warranty, yet Honda has failed to provide the necessary support and repairs to resolve the issue. Desired resolution: I seek a thorough investigation by the ftc into Honda’s misleading advertising and failure to address legitimate safety concerns with their infotainment system. I also request that Honda be required to fix my vehicle so that the infotainment system works reliably with android devices. Additionally, Honda should formally acknowledge the problem and improve their customer support and product testing procedures.
This recall is unresolvable and is preventing Honda from certifying my vehicle to refinance it. The part is not broke, I can't fix it because it's not broke, and until all recalls are cleared on my vehicle, it can't be certified. This is recall information https://hondanews. Com/en-us/takata-airbag-inflator-recall-information issue: Honda financial will not approve a loan without an outstanding recall. -open recall – see below -my vehicle is experiencing no issues; the light/sensor is not impacted -I offered to have it replaced/fixed – Honda doesn’t allow this -I carry full insurance and am required to when the vehicle is financed. -I have a history of maintaining the vehicle; I don't believe that it’s my fault it’s not broken. -my vehicle is appropriate collateral for this car loan ecoa violation Honda financial has violated the va fairness in lending act, truth in lending act, and equal credit opportunity act. I am being denied a loan for no reasonable reason or plainly stated: Honda is denying creditworthiness based on collateral they deem doesn’t qualify, but there is no remedy to qualify, and the only entity to qualify is the affiliate corporation of the lending institute.
In the past 4 months car stalled on expressway 3 times. On the first occurrence dealer informed us that no error code were found. Second time repair shop (dealer) found body control module error code and replaced the body control module. On the third occurrence we are waiting for repair assessment. In all three occasions check engine light will blink and pressing accelerator won't give any power to the vehicle. Restarting the engine usually will allow us to drive normally. But in the third occurrence restarting didn't resolve the issue.
4 times now I have been driving on the freeway and my vehicle just slows down when putting foot down on gas pedal nothing car comes to a complete stop with engine light on I turn off and on the engine an d the car goes again I have taken it at the time of incident to Honda dealerships and they keep telling me there is nothing wrong with the car I tell them that there is something seriously wrong with my car the engine light comes on and they said there is nothing showing the last time I was on freeway and it stalled in the lane I could of been killed all the times it happened I was on freeways doing between 65 and 70 miles per hour.
Central display screen goes blank at random times at start up. May or may not reactivate with a reboot or restart of car. Display screen controls heating / cooling as well as provides access to other features such as reset of the tire-pressure monitoring system. I don't think it is safe to operate without heating or cooling when the weather is extreme. (it also provides the audio controls and Smart-phone interface which includes navigation--which is on a much larger screen than a phone making for a safer experience).
Back hatch closes on me when I am putting stuff in the back. This has happened at least 6 times. The very last time on March 10, 2024, it the hatch door came down on my head & arm. It almost hit my eye. I got bruised on above my eye & my arm. The sensor thinks I am setting it off.
I received notification from Honda of a recall on my battery cable harness. The defect increases the likelihood of a fire during a crash. The notification was revevied in January so I called to make an appointment to have it repaired. I was told the part was not available and to call back in 30-days. I contacted another dealer in my area and they told me the same thing. I've been calling every 30-days and get the same response, "call back in 30-days. " the notifiation states if I can't get the repair done within 60-days of trying to make an appointment, I could file a complaint with your agency. Therefore, I'm doing just that. It's been almost 5 months.
While travelling home from champaign, IL on I-72 towards springfield, IL, we had been on the road for approximately an hour, when there was a loud metallic bang & I lost all steering control. The Cr-v violently jerked to the right and exited the interstate at approximately 70mph (I was on cruise control), travelled down an embankment hitting several trees and came to a stop in trees on the edge of a farm pond. All airbags deployed, and per the tow company, the engine and transaxles departed the vehicle and were found a short distance in front of the vehicle. The car stayed upright and continued straight after departing the roadway. What component failed & is it available for inspection - steering, exact component unknown. Unknown if available for inspection, vehicle released to state farm 1/29 how was safety put at risk - caused severe crash with serious injuries. Total loss of control could have been fatal if traffic was heavier has the problem reproduced - no has the vehicle been inspected by manufacturer, police, insurance etc - unknown, vehicle was released to state farm 1/29 were there any warning lamps or symptoms? - no.
We have been trying to get our recall serviced for over 18 months. The dealer continues to tell us the parts need to be special ordered and they will call us back. However they never call us back. We have called Honda directly and have not received any help from them either.
Driving down the highway and heard a loud “boom”. Thought it was a tire blowout, but realized that the sunroof exploded. I did not hit anything. The temperature was approximately 70 degrees. Was the car the day before and did not notice any damage to the sunroof. Luckily the cover was closed so no glass fell inside the vehicle compartment. Reading of multiple occasion of this occurring to Honda vehicles.
On Sep 19, 2023 at about 6:10pm I got into my car at the cvs parking lot to drive home. As I reared back to get out of my parking spot, I heard a loud sound as if I had hit something on the passenger side and I returned my car to the initial spot to get out of the car and check what had happened. When I put the car into parking and tried to stop the engine, the car refused to stop. My foot was on the break, I was trying to turn off the engine but the car accelerated, went forward, then backwards, and kept going back and forth in all directions without me being able to control it. At the end it headed on the road when finally another car hit my car and this caused the car to stop. When the car stopped, it was still on park and I was then able to turn it off. This happened in the evening. In the morning when I was going to work, as I entered my garage I tried to turn off the radio because there was no reception but I was not able to turn off the radio or to lower the volume. At that time I did not think it was an issue but in retrospect, I think the two incidents might be connected. At the end of July 2023 (about a month and a half before the accident) I started getting multiple warning signals on the dashboard and then I took my car to Honda dealership who fixed the electronics for $850 and the car was returned to me. I have a police report # 2023-09190211 with witnesses for the accident on 9/19/2023 and the Honda dealership should have detailed records from their work because it was quite recent. It is a miracle that there were no injured people as a result of this accident. It was extremely scary and horrible to be in a car that cannot be controlled. This has to be investigated and measures should be taken to prevent this from happening to others. I have not received yet the assessment from the insurance and I can provide more details when they share their findings.
Driving on the freeway with my foot on the accelerator, the car lost power even thought the engine was running. The engine light came on as a static light - it was not blinking. I pulled off the freeway, put the car in park, and shut the engine off. When I restarted the car the engine light was off and I was able to accelerate again. After the first incident, I took it to a Honda dealer who replaced the fuel injectors. This did not solve the problem as it happened on the drive back from the dealers when I was again driving on a freeway with my foot on the accelerator and I lost all power, the engine was still running and the engine light came on. I pulled off the freeway, put the car in park, and turned off the engine. The car is now at the second dealer to determine the cause. My car only has 46000 miles on it and there should not be these types of uses with the low mileage.
Car parked in driveway running, in park. Went inside for less than 5 sec, came out and car rolling backwards out of driveway, 15 month old inside. Car went across two yards, struck 3 trees and lamppost coming to stop in woods/creek. Car was in park when entered car and checked by bystander. By the grace of god child was not hurt. Hanover county deputies, ems responded. Report #23-101783. Car is at west broad collision.
While driving on the highway at 65 mph I heard what I describe as a very loud popping noise on the top of my car. I looked in my rearview mirror to see chunks of black falling behind my car. I immediately put my four ways on and made my way over to the shoulder of the road; this was during rush hour traffic. I had to wait until I could safely exit my car to see what had happened and I discovered my sun roof had shattered for no reason. Nothing had hit it, nothing bounced on the road in front of me and hit my roof, nothing had flown off of any vehicles near me.
My car, a 2020 Honda Cr-v ex 1. 5t awd, was totaled in a fatal accident on a rainy night on an interstate highway. It spun on the highway a couple of turns, hit the highway barrier at all of its corners and sides, caused the airbags to all came out, and eventually deadly stopped in the middle of the highway on a rainy night. My wife and I were in our undrivable vehicle, watching countless coming vehicles approaching us rapidly. We were just waiting in the dead car unmovable, just as in a coffin for our fate to come but can do nothing. Thank god who made someone call 911. Thanks to the emergency rescue team. The ambulance sent us to a nearby local hospital. We bought the vehicle, the 2020 Honda Cr-v ex 1. 5t awd, as new, and we realized there could be a problem at a very earlier time. It has a serious problem with its awd control system. The rear wheels are always engaged in all road conditions, as it is displayed on the instrument panel. This causes the two symptoms of the car, (1) the mpg (miles-per-gallon) is extremely lower than the standard 34 mpg on the highway. It is only 23 to 25 mpg because it always consumes about 32 to 36 gallons of gasoline on a trip of 810 miles distance (85% on interstate highways). (2) the rear tires are worn out extremely fast. It wore 86% of the usage range at 22,000 miles usage, which is about 2 to 3 times quicker than tires on other cars on average. We visited the Honda dealer in troy, michigan for the tire problems on may 9, 2022, which is about five months before the severe accident. The Honda dealer refused to give any compensation for changing new tires. The car is just over 25,000 mileage (see https://static. Nhtsa. Gov/odi/tsbs/2020/mc-10181080-0001. Pdf). They changed only 2 new tires in the front and put the old front tires on the rear wheels.
Sunroof window spontaneously exploded while driving. I was the only vehicle on the road when the window exploded. Happened at approximately 630am. Have searched but no recalls on this issue, only a class action lawsuit.
My moonroof glass randomly shattered while driving on the highway. There was no sign of rocks or other debris that might have been the cause.
At 41,000 miles, my 2020 Honda Cr-v door lock actuator on the driver’s side rear door quit working. When I would come to a stop at a stop sign/light, it would attempt to engage and make clicking sounds. I attempted to manually lock the door and use the key fob with no luck. The door lock absolutely would not lock. I have small children in the backseat so this had to be fixed ASAP. The dealer confirmed and I had to cover all costs.
It is about bubbles in the rear glass panel where I have 100 of bubbles and it is because of error in application (bed part –tint or worst work). It looks terrible and has impact on possibilities if I drive it when is the nighttime and increase the risk of crash. I start asking Honda to repair it long time ago and was denied. (tint is dealership installed and 2 other dealership in jacksonville have lifetime warranty on installed tint and also most of glass tint services in jacksonville). I contacted american Honda CO and they told me that they do not have anything to do with it because it is not factory installed tint and they cannot commend to dealerships what to do.
My car has been braking on its own the last 5 months. Today it braked for no reason. There was no car in front of us or to either side of us. There was nothing in front of us either. It braked super hard and there was someone behind us who luckily slammed on their brakes and didn’t hit us. It gave me and my kids whiplash. Other times it will brake on its own if there’s a shadow from a bridge or something. Again when it does that there are no cars in front or next to us or even remotely close to us. This is beginning to be a frequent thing happening once or more a week. It’s super dangerous and I don’t feel safe with it braking for no reason.
Spontaneous sunroof shattering/explosion. While driving on a highway the sunroof on my Honda 2020 crv awd vehicle suddenly shattered and blew out completely. As I was on a two lane busy highway - I-80 going east 2 miles south of colfax I had to slow down and exit after driving 2 miles and find the frontage road. There have been many owners of Honda's that have experienced the same event. Honda should be responsible for installing faulty glass in their sunroofs.
My car was parked in my driveway all day and all night. At some point during the evening all of the windows and moon roof were opened without my knowledge (my keys were on the counter). It rained all night and my car obtained substantial water damage which cost approximately $18,000. 00 to repair. I couldn’t drive my car until the repairs were made due to risk of electrical incident while driving. Honda has taken no responsibility. My car is a 2020 Honda crv. It was recently brought to my attention that windows opening unexpectedly on Honda crvs has been an issue since at least 2017 with the most recent incident that I know of happening on a 2021 model. Honda has been aware of this “glitch” for at least five years but has done nothing to correct it. It is a safety issue for many reasons. I would like this “glitch” to be corrected so that others will not have to suffer the loss and damages that I did. Insult to injury is I purchased my car from Honda in 2020 for $33,000. 00 and then in 2021 I had to pay Honda almost $18,000. 00 to fix damages sustained due to their negligence in addressing an issue that they knew about for at least 5 years.
The vehicle battery drains if parked for a week without driving. The battery needs to be boosted to start the vehicle if parked for a week without driving.
The cover for the undercarriage came loose and started dragging. I was driving on a blacktop county road.
Unknown: computer touch screen periodically shuts down. It also loses connection for unknown reason with apple play. I’ve rebooted the computer and sometimes that helps but not as much as I’d hope for it to resolve the connecting issue.
New vehicle with approx. 3,000 miles became completely disabled on highway and exposed occupants to extreme danger. Dealership reported that a "faulty brake sensor" was the cause of the vehicle becoming inoperable. Vehicle was being driven at 60 mph and engine died on an underpass turn barely visible to traffic behind and was almost hit by a semi cruising at 60+ mph. Failure of all systems resulted and could have killed the Honda Cr-v occupants.
The tire pressure monitoring system does not work and can't be corrected. It will come on showing a tpm problem. This is not monitoring tire safety. On city streets it will remain correct for several miles. On the highway it registers the tpm problem after two to three miles.
This was my first explanation of my cars defect when submitting a claim to Honda through the ncds. Good morning, I have had trouble with apple car play since I purchased my new vehicle. I called the dealership in November and asked how to fix it. They suggested to try an apple usb/iphone charger so I tried varies different usb cords and got them to work for awhile. In Jan. 2021 my apple car play just stopped working all together. I would plug in my phone and the car would tell me that this function is not available. Then when I did occasionally get it to work, about 5 minutes into my drive. My touch screen monitor would turn completely black and I wouldn’t be able to use any other functions, even after turning my car off and back on, the screen would remain black until the next time I drove it. It works for a short period of time after doing a factory reset but only for about 12 hours, then it either turns black or the message “this function is unavailable” pops up and my device isn’t detected. I can’t even use the ipod function just to play music, it’s like it doesn’t recognize my phone, yet it will charge my phone. It just won’t recognize anything else. I have brought it into the dealer 6 times regarding this issue before the last two attempts to fix it, I even called apple support as recommended by the dealership. They were aware of the issue and told me to wait until the next update for it to be fixed. So I did. . . And it still didn’t work. That’s when I went in two more times and no one can seem to figure out what’s wrong. Thank you for your time, I hope we can resolve this issue soon. Have a great day! cassie I had sent in multiple documents and a testimony explaining my cars defect and due to that defect the loss of use, value and safety to the vehicle. My request to fix this defect was denied. My case manager then notified me to move forward with my case and file a claim through the minnesota lemon law and they recommend also submitting a claim to NHTSA.
